The Space:

This single-story home enjoys a beautiful position just across the Oregon Coast Highway and up the hill from Whaleshead Beach. It's located in the heart of the Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor- a place to hike the Oregon Coast Trail, explore secluded beaches and go for long scenic drives. Harris Beach State Park, Cape Ferrelo, the Thomas Creek Bridge, Natural Bridges and Arch Rock State Park are all within seven miles. Nearby, the town of Brookings features eclectic restaurants, shops, a small movie theatre and Azalea Park.



The cabin was designed to highlight its natural surroundings, from the covered front porch to the spacious sunroom. Enjoy a view of the ocean as you arrive and step out of your car in the driveway. There is a back deck with a gas grill and an outdoor table for meals, as well as a sheltered space for the hot tub. There is a 200-square-foot sunroom with windows where you can admire the sun rising over the mountains in the mornings.



The rest of the house is cozy and comfortable with a mini split system for heating and cooling, large windows and skylights letting in an abundance of natural light and a brand new mattress for your comfort. There's an open kitchen, an eat-in dining area where you can enjoy some of the provided board games and an inviting living area with a Roku-equipped TV with guest mode capability and Spectrum cable to screen your favorite movies each night. A second TV with a Roku awaits you in the bedroom as well. DVD player, DVDs and Oregon Coast themed books also provided.

Unfortunately, this Vrbo did not deliver . Hot tub was dirty, wiped down the dirt from the sides , toilet was dirty . We used the sofa bed, and I was lying on springs, the queen size bed, should have been replaced yrs ago. Windows were fogged up from moisture getting in and could not see out clearly. Needs serious updating.

Whaleshead and the cabin itself are amazing. However, the management company is frustrating to say the least. When we arrived at 4 for check in no access code was sent. We texted the company and asked about this but didn’t receive a response until 3am. We had to call the company to obtain the access code and fortunately, we spoke with a nice man who was very helpful. I feel like I shouldn’t have had to call considering this is a vacation home. The access code should have been sent to us before hand. Additionally, there are previous reviews about the bed being old and out dated, this is still the case. At the end of the day, due to our experience with the check in process, we would not stay here again.
