Wake to the sound of crashing waves from this oceanfront perch above Carmet Beach. Your dog will love exploring the coastal trails while you soak in panoramic Pacific views from the deck's Adirondack chairs. This bright 2-bedroom cottage sleeps 6 and sits directly across from the beach. Spud Point's famous crab sandwiches are 3 miles south, Terrapin Creek's acclaimed bistro is 2.7 miles away. Watch the sunset paint the sky from your front-row seat to nature's daily spectacle.
The Space:
Spend mornings on the bluff as fog burns off the Pacific, afternoons exploring the Sonoma Coast's tide pools and trails, and evenings around the dining table with fresh crab from the harbor.
A painted-brick fireplace with a wood-burning insert anchors the living room — the sectional and two leather swivel chairs angled in for slow evenings after a beach walk. Shaker cabinets reach the ceiling against dark granite in the kitchen, with a subway tile backsplash and a peninsula that seats three at the gas range. Beyond it, a rustic wood table with cross-back chairs sets the dining.
OUTDOOR LIVING
The expansive front deck, wrapped in composite decking, is where you'll spend your time. Four white Adirondack chairs face the ocean, perfectly positioned for the nightly sunset ritual. String lights overhead cast a warm glow for evening gatherings long after the sun dips below the horizon. Below, an enclosed yard gives your dog room to explore freely, surrounded by coastal landscaping with colorful lupines and native grasses.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
The primary bedroom offers a traditional wood four-poster king bed with crisp white bedding, a wood dresser, and a wall-mounted TV for lazy mornings. The second bedroom features a reclaimed wood headboard, matching dresser, and a queen bed with gray bedding accented by floral pillows. Both bedrooms have plantation shutters for privacy. A twin trundle bed in the living area provides flexible overflow sleeping. Total capacity: 6 guests.

Guest Access:
Catch sunset from an Adirondack chair on the front deck — the Pacific runs unobstructed below — and warm up by the wood-burning fireplace once the fog rolls in. You've got the whole home, dogs welcome, with an enclosed yard and ocean views from the great room's vaulted ceiling. Punch in the keypad code on arrival; up to three cars fit in the driveway.
The Neighborhood:
Perched directly across from Carmet Beach in this quiet coastal community, you're perfectly positioned for Sonoma Coast adventures. Walk across the road to Carmet Beach (0.1 mi) for beachcombing, or explore nearby Salmon Creek State Beach (1.2 mi) and Rock Point Beach (1.6 mi). The dramatic Arched Rock Overlook is just 0.4 miles away. For dining, head south to Bodega Bay's harbor where Spud Point Crab Company (3.1 mi) serves their legendary crab sandwiches and award-winning chowder. Terrapin Creek (2.7 mi) offers refined coastal cuisine in an intimate setting. Stock up on groceries at Pelican Plaza Grocery & Deli (2.9 mi) or grab morning coffee at Sea Flower Cafe (2.6 mi). Wine enthusiasts can visit Sonoma Coast Vineyards tasting room (3.8 mi) or venture to Square Peg Winery (8.6 mi) in the hills. The famous Potter Schoolhouse from Hitchcock's 'The Birds' sits in the town of Bodega, about 5 miles inland.
Getting Around:
Bodega Bay is about 90 minutes from San Francisco — a beautiful drive up 101 and out Highway 1 through farmland and coastal ranches. You'll have three parking spaces in the driveway. A car makes exploring the Sonoma Coast effortless — it unfolds for miles in either direction. Cell service is light along the coast, so downloading offline maps before you arrive is a good idea.
Other Things to Note:
The home stays naturally cool thanks to ocean breezes — no AC needed even in summer (which rarely exceeds 70°F here). Your high-speed internet handles streaming and video calls well, though strong coastal winds can occasionally affect reliability. The wood-burning fireplace creates the perfect ambiance for foggy evenings — firewood is available at local markets. The enclosed yard is ideal for dogs, and the beach across the street offers endless sniffing adventures. Summer brings morning fog that usually burns off by afternoon, creating dramatic light for photography. Pack layers year-round — coastal weather changes quickly. The primary renter must be 25 or older.

Great location
The view was amazing. The location is easy to find and the parking is good. Close access to beaches and Bodega Bay.
Some of the furniture needs to be replaced and the house could use some updating. The kitchen is well equiped with lots of pots and pans. Plenty of utinsils and silverware.
All in all, we had a enjoyable time!
Loved the ocean view from the bay window! The property was very clean and the floor plan gives plenty of space in all rooms! It was perfect for our family and we look forward to future stays!

Sunset Escape
We truly did enjoy our stay here. The beds were comfy, nice little den to watch tv and the separate living area with the amazing ocean and sunset view made it exceptional. The location made it handy to explore beaches, come back make lunch and head out again. We would come again. Thank you for having us stay in your home.
We have gone to quite a few beautiful places, but I can’t say enough about this spot you wake up in the morning, grab a cuppa coffee and go sit on the deck and listen to the ocean and then at night the beautiful sunsets, the kitchen, the living room, the whole space was just wonderful, so wonderful that we booked before we even left to come back in February Great place !!
The location is great and the view is incredible. We loved exploring the tide pools at Carmet beach across the street and it’s truly the best place to watch the sunset every night. I almost didn’t book this house because the reviews weren’t great, but we have no complaints. We loved our stay here!
We left the valley heat to soak up some coastal fog! Lovely location, beautiful views, this home is so cozy & beachy.

Excellent House
The views from this house were amazing!! The beds were super comfortable as well as the pillows. House was fully stocked of everything you need. We can’t wait to come back!!
Really loved this place. Perfect, unobstructed view of the ocean. Even though right on the freeway, it was very quiet. Away from the crowds but less than 10 minutes to the heart of Bodega Bay restaurants and activities. Very comfortable accommodations with everything you need for a perfect getaway. Great place to go to relax and watch the waves crash on the rocks.

Great view!
Beautiful view and easy access to Carmet Beach. Kitchen well stocked with utensils. Comfortable bed . Clean. Nice to have fenced backyard for dog.
Great views and location. Easy to find and good parking. Well stocked kitchen with plenty of pots and pans, silverware and dishes. Close to Bodega Bay and nearby beaches. The place needs some updating. The two sitting chairs looking out the front window are stained and a bit broken down. The couch in living room is old and saggy. The kitchen cabinets need paint. We didn't spend much time during the day there, too many beaches and other places to explore. We stayed 7 nights. Good restaurants in Bodega and the Wild Poppy in Sebastopol is a fun place to eat. Great food and atmosphere. All in all we had a good stay.
