Big Chetac Lake, a phenomenal 2,400-acre lake in Sawyer County with a maximum depth of 28 feet, is renowned for its premier fishing, recreation, and vibrant collection of popular lakefront venues. The lake offers abundant bluegill, largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike, and walleye, with opportunities to fish right from the dock or even ice fish in the winter. Lake clarity can vary depending on the time of year and weather conditions. A connection to Birch Lake allows boaters to visit food and entertainment destinations; Chit Chat, Sportsman’s Lodge, Birch Lakes Resort, Bear Paw Resort, and Fernwood Bar. Visitors can bring their own boat or rent one from Big Chetac Resort, with public boat launches available on both sides of the lake. There is space for swimming, water-skiing, sailing, pontooning, canoeing, paddleboats, kayaks, and wave runners. Big Chetac Lake offers something for everyone.
The main bedroom is an ensuite featuring a stunning lake view, a private bathroom and king size bed. Bedroom two on the main level features a queen bed. Bedroom three on the main level provides a queen size bed. Also, on the main level you will find a full bathroom, large living area, well appointed dining space, updated kitchen with breakfast bar seating, laundry room, and a cozy four season porch attached to an outdoor deck area. Bedroom four is spacious in the lower level featuring a king size bed and a fold out twin sofa. Lower level also features an expansive family room with a fold out twin sofa and a full size bunk bed for overflow sleeping, a large full bathroom with shower, and a walkout to a large outdoor seating and dining area. Whether you’re gathering around the fire or enjoying some quiet downtime, this gorgeous cabin provides a welcoming atmosphere. It’s easy to see why you’ll be able to unwind at our place.
Feel right at home with a fully stocked kitchen including dishes, pots, pans, crock pot, coffee maker, dishwasher, toaster, and electric griddle. Hair dryers in each bathroom, washer, dryer, iron, bed linens, and bathroom towels for each guest. There is a second, full-sized refrigerator available for guest use in the garage.
Enjoy some game time in the beautiful garage featuring an epoxy floor and ping pong table. You will find yard games for the entire family to play, in addition to a canoe to take out on the lake. An outdoor firepit with Adirondack chairs is the best place for everyone to come together at the end of the day to talk about the day's activities, to share stories, to come up with some ideas for the next day and to make s'mores.

This lake home is close to recreational trails for ATV, snowmobiling, biking and hiking. The Tuscobia Trail is the main off road/ATV trail. It runs about 65 miles and is very well marked. Additionally, The Ice Age National Scenic Trail is a thousand-mile footpath entirely within Wisconsin and is nearby to hike some of the state's most beautiful natural areas. For biking, the Chequamegon National Forest offers miles and miles of trails.
In the winter, when the snow flies and the lake freezes over, you will find plenty of new adventures! Fabulous snowmobiling can be found on the hundreds of miles of local trails. These trails are part of the largest network of snowmobiling trails in the Midwest.
If cross country skiing is your thing, the American Birkebeiner Cross Country Ski Race occurs every year in nearby Cable, WI. Or, you can bring your own cross-country skis and go out across the lake. If you're looking for cross country trails, then try Nordic Woods, Beaver Brook, Ice Age Trail, or the famed Birkebeiner Trail.
