Hi, I’m Tom! Originally from London, I now call Denver home — but Asheville holds a special place in my heart. I discovered it for the mountains, the nature, and that rare small-town vibe that’s hard to find anywhere else, and I’ve been coming back ever since.

My family and I stay at this property regularly, and what keeps drawing us back is simple: the quietness, the proximity to great restaurants and breweries, and the fact that we almost always spot bears on the hillside. My 3-year-old son Griffin is absolutely obsessed with them.

I bought this home because I wanted a place we genuinely love staying in — and I hope you feel that when you arrive. Everything is set up the way I’d want it for my own family. I’m responsive, straightforward, and want your stay to be seamless from check-in to check-out.

Welcome to our mountain retreat. 🐻

Why they chose this property

It’s peaceful in a way that’s hard to describe until you’re here. You wake up to mountain views, fresh air, and total quiet — and then 10 minutes later you can be on the Blue Ridge Parkway or sitting in a brewery downtown. We love the Riceville area because it still feels local and unhurried. And the wildlife is real — bears, deer, the occasional fox. Griffin, my 3-year-old, loses his mind every time he sees something new.

What makes this property unique

Most mountain rentals give you nature or comfort. This one gives you both. You’ve got a private sauna and hot tub accessible directly from the primary bedroom, a deck with genuine mountain views, and a fire pit for nights under the stars — all five minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah National Forest.

It’s also genuinely well-equipped, not just well-photographed. The kitchen is fully stocked, there’s parking for five cars, the whole home sleeps 10 comfortably, and we’ve thought about every age group — from bunk beds for the kids to a gramophone with vinyl records for the adults.

And then there are the bears. Griffin approves.
