We stay in Chicago once a year to visit my daughter, Little did we realize it was Lolapaloize this weekend, my family said this was the best place we have stayed at by far, cleanest, and centrally located to every thing we had planned. So thanks for a memorable weekend.
The house was great. The rooms were good size and perfect size in the closets. The bathroom was a good size as well. The kitchen was good size and had what we needed. The table was a little small since we were six and it was only for four chairs only. The door keypad was a little hard to get it kept getting stuck anf hard to open but we finally got it to work more smoothly. The host had a container of drinking water for us, so that was great and much needed with the horrible heat we had this weekend. As for the host he was responsive just a little behind since they he was out of town but thankful he answered and gave us the other host information for more faster response. The only thing I hated not finding parking when we first arrive had to park a block away and had to pass the alley. The other days we did find one closer but they should do something to at least have one parking space closer to the house for security purpose. We completely recommend the house neighborhood was also quite and looked safe.

Dear Betsabe. Thank you so much for your thoughtful review and recommendation! We're glad you enjoyed the spacious rooms, well-equipped kitchen, and complimentary drinking water, especially during the hot weekend. We also appreciate your feedback about the dining table, keypad, and communication while I was traveling. We've since addressed the keypad to make entry smoother and are always looking for ways to improve our guests' experience.
Unfortunately, street parking in Chicago is public and cannot be reserved, but spaces are usually available nearby. It depends on the time of the day. Thank you again for staying with us, and we'd love to host you again in the future!
Very nice property with plenty of space and room to relax. The neighborhood is charming, with a quaint street and welcoming atmosphere. Conveniently located near restaurants, shopping, and downtown Chicago. The owner is friendly, personable, and a pleasure to work with.

About the host
Hosted by Simiao
Born and raised in Beijing, China, I’ve called Chicago my second home for 7+ years. I’ve been teaching Mandarin for 13+ years and enjoy sharing my language and culture. I’ve traveled to 30+ countries, mostly through Couchsurfing & housesitting, which inspired me to become a host. I love meeting people from diverse backgrounds, learning about different cultures, and helping guests feel at home while exploring Chicago.
Why they chose this property
Step outside and you’ll find a neighborhood that feels both connected and relaxed. Tree-lined streets, classic Chicago homes, and a strong sense of community create a welcoming atmosphere. A short walk away is McKinley Park, a beautiful green space with walking trails, open fields, a lagoon, and recreational facilities that offer a refreshing escape from the city bustle.
What I enjoy most about the neighborhood is the balance it provides. You can start the day with a peaceful walk through the park, grab a meal from one of the area’s local restaurants, and still be just minutes from downtown attractions thanks to the nearby CTA Orange Line. The location also offers convenient access to Rate Field, Downtown Chicago, and Midway International Airport, making it easy to explore the city while enjoying the comfort of a quieter residential neighborhood.
What makes this property unique
What makes this property stand out is the combination of space, comfort, and location. Unlike many city accommodations, this first-floor apartment offers three spacious bedrooms and generous common areas, making it ideal for families, groups, and longer stays. The vintage character of the home adds warmth and charm, while modern amenities provide the convenience guests expect.
The backyard patio is another highlight—a great place to enjoy your morning coffee, unwind after a day of exploring Chicago, or gather with family and friends. Guests also appreciate the easy access to both nature and the city: you're just a short walk from McKinley Park and minutes from downtown via the nearby CTA Orange Line.
Whether you're visiting for work, a family vacation, a sporting event, or a weekend getaway, the property offers the rare combination of a peaceful neighborhood setting, plenty of room to spread out, and convenient access to Chicago's top attractions and transportation hubs.
