Our love for Topsail Island began in 2005, and it quickly became our family’s go-to getaway. Whether it was summer vacations with our very full house of eight kids or quiet off-season retreats with just the two of us, Topsail always felt like home. Over the years, we’ve made countless memories on these shores — from early morning dolphin sightings to enjoying a nice evening out at one of the many fantastic local restaurants in Surf City.

Now, we’re excited to share this special place with you. The Salty Surfer is our way of helping other families create their own island memories. We take pride in offering clean, comfortable, and well-maintained properties with the personal touch that only a family-owned rental can provide. We hope you’ll visit soon and discover why we fell in love with Topsail Island.

Why they chose this property

Topsail Island has always been our happy place. It’s our favorite spot to slow down, reconnect, and make memories. So when we dreamed of owning a vacation property, it felt only right to put down roots here.

What makes this property unique

Like many families, we dreamed of finding a place where everyone could stay together under one roof and create lasting beach memories. In July 2025, we found this classic oceanfront cottage in Topsail Beach. While it already offered incredible ocean views and an unbeatable location, we knew it could become something truly special.

Over the following months, we completely reimagined the home from top to bottom with families in mind. Every space was thoughtfully designed to encourage connection, laughter, and relaxation—from gathering around the dining table after a day on the beach to enjoying movie nights in the Surf Shack Theater with its 85-inch TV and surround sound. Outside, the shaded Surf Shack hangout beneath the deck offers a cool place to play yard games, relax after the beach, or simply enjoy the ocean breeze. We also added little surprises throughout the home, including our "under the sea" porthole, comfortable reading lights at every bed, and countless thoughtful touches that make vacations easier and more memorable.

The Salty Surfer gets its name from our beloved black Lab, who inspired both the name and the playful logo, beautifully illustrated by our talented niece. He welcomes every guest with the same spirit we hope you'll experience here—relaxed, carefree, and ready to make unforgettable beach memories.
