Riverfront Cabin on the Arkansas - Private Raft Launch + Mountain Views
The Riverbend is a small 1930s Colorado river cabin with the character of an old mountain getaway and the modern comforts you actually want on vacation. Set directly along roughly 270 feet of Arkansas River frontage in Cotopaxi, it’s an easy, comfortable home base for up to four guests.
Step outside and head down to the river for fishing, relaxing by the water, or launching a raft or tube. The long riverfront beach is shared with our nearby Airstream rental, The Drift, with enough space for each property to enjoy its own stretch of river and some privacy.
Inside, the cabin is cozy and intentionally compact. The primary bedroom has one queen bed, and the second bedroom has a custom queen-over-queen bunk. The cabin sleeps a maximum of 4 guests, giving you flexible sleeping arrangements without overcrowding the house.
The kitchen has been thoughtfully updated with a dishwasher, garbage disposal, reverse-osmosis drinking water, and the essentials for cooking at home. You’ll also have Starlink Wi-Fi, a Fire TV, air conditioning, an electric fireplace, a vinyl record player with a small record collection, and board games for slower evenings at the cabin.
A washer and dryer are available for guest use in a separate laundry area shared with The Drift Airstream.
The Riverbend is well positioned for both quiet river time and day trips around the Arkansas River Valley. Salida is about 25–30 minutes away for restaurants, shops, galleries, and downtown exploring. Cañon City and the Royal Gorge area are roughly 40–50 minutes east, while Monarch Mountain is about 45–55 minutes west, making the cabin a convenient base for skiing, rafting, hiking, fishing, and exploring the surrounding mountains.
The Riverbend is especially suited to couples, small families, or a few friends who want river access, mountain scenery, and a comfortable place to come home to at the end of the day.
Please note that this is an original, compact 1930s cabin, not a newly built luxury home. We’ve preserved its small-scale charm while updating it with modern conveniences so guests can enjoy the character of an old river cabin without giving up comfort.
Maximum occupancy: 4 guests. No pets at this time.

About the host
Hosted by Cristy Mast
We created The Riverbend Collective because we wanted a place that feels easy, comfortable, and a little special — somewhere you can slow down, sit by the river, play a record, and actually enjoy where you are. We love old places with personality, so instead of trying to make this little 1930s cabin feel brand new, we’ve tried to keep its charm while adding the conveniences that make a stay comfortable. We want guests to feel genuinely welcome here and to have everything they need for an easy getaway.
Why they chose this property
We loved this stretch of the Arkansas River almost immediately. It feels peaceful and tucked away, but you’re still close enough to spend the day in Salida, visit the Royal Gorge and Cañon City, ski at Monarch, or head out rafting, fishing, or hiking. Our favorite part is that you can have a full day of adventure and then come back, sit by the river, and feel completely away from everything.
What makes this property unique
The Riverbend is a small, original 1930s cabin sitting right along the Arkansas River. You have a long stretch of riverfront to enjoy, direct access to the water, and a cozy cabin that feels intimate rather than oversized. Inside, we’ve added modern comforts like air conditioning, Starlink Wi-Fi, a dishwasher, reverse-osmosis drinking water, Fire TV, an electric fireplace, a vinyl record player, and board games — but we’ve kept the old-cabin character that made us love it in the first place. Nearby is our Airstream rental, The Drift, which shares the riverfront and laundry area while still having its own space.
