Great quiet place

Great place, close to all things. The building is older but well taken care of. Pool and property were well taken care of. I did not realize that our unit did not have washer/dryer so that was disappointing but that is on me. In the future, I will look at that. Our unit otherwise was great and was portrayed as it is. It is quiet there and on the beach which is nice.

Great family vacation rental !

We travelled with family, house was very kid friendly and bunk beds were very accommodating for our 3 kids. Unit had everything you needed and was in a great location! The only thing that would have made this place even better would have been a boardwalk, while we loved the natural feel climbing the dunes was a bit much with our crew. Residents were very friendly and we would definitely stay again .

Wonderful!!!

We stayed for 4 days three nights and It was so peaceful, my kids we probably the loudest thing there, lol!! The pool was very clean and the access to the beach was easy to get to. The condo we stayed at was decorated so cute and had everything we could possibly need. Would highly recommend this experience to anyone else.

Great Condo!

The condo was as we expected it to be! The location was great and the view was amazing. We could sit on the balcony looking at the ocean while our kids played in the pool. The condo had everything we needed. The condo complex was small (compared to other St Augustine condo complexes) which made everything seem very private. It was a great, last minute, get away for our family!

Renters Beware!

I have very mixed reviews and a major concern about this rental. The check in process was a nightmare with poor (lack of) communication from the owner. Got in the room an hour and 45 minutes after our arrival after many calls to vrbo and the owner. Waited another 2 hours to get the gate code in order to be able to leave and get back on the property. The location was nice. Friendly staff. Great pool and views. Condo was well supplied with kitchen items, soap, and linens. Basic maintenance to the condo was poor. I found a screwdriver in a drawer and tightened the loose handrail. I also tightened the door knobs as most were pretty loose. The dining room light fixture cap had come down so I got on a chair to reattach that. I found wd40 and fixed 3 squeaky doors. The bathroom had 2 of 5 bulbs burned out and the edges of at least 3 steps really need to be tacked down. This is a safety issue! Speaking of safety leads me to my final concern!! The day before we were to leave (Sunday) my wife was sleeping on the couch and heard the condo door open and close. Later she told me she thought i left for a morning walk. I had not even been out of bed and when I got up I noticed the dead bolt was not locked!! There was no one to call as the office is not staffed Sunday or Monday. On Sunday night I double checked then triple checked to make sure the door was locked and Monday morning the deadbolt was once again unlocked!! ***BEWARE - something is very wrong - that should not happen.*** The locks need to be changed!! You feel safe on the gated condo property but then have to be leery about staying in the room. It didn't spoil the trip but ts a shame that we have second thoughts about vrbo now.

We live in Boston with our 4 children. I (Diane) grew up in Atlanta vacationing at Spanish Trace Condos with my family, extended family and various groups of friends since opening year in 1974. I have lived in Atlanta, Dallas, Minneapolis, and now Boston but Spanish Trace and St. Augustine has always been the home I returned to each summer. Now married with 4 children, I am thrilled to say the family tradition of understanding the unique blessing of our time with our family and friends continues each summer at Spanish Trace and St. Augustine.

Why they chose this property

Over the years we have honestly considered other condo properties in St. Augustine (and other FL beaches) to vacation. We have never found a property that offered the convenience to the beach/pool/condo with a responsive manager to allow everyone to enjoy their vacation like Spanish Trace. Spanish Trace also has close proximity to so many restaurants beach , grocery stores, shopping and downtown St. Augustine.

What makes this property unique

In our opinion (and those of many people whom have vacationed at Spanish Trace), Spanish Trace offers these unique traits that make to the place people return to year after year:
*The Pool- The pool is miticulously cleaned daily that is always a pleasure for everyone.
*The Beach- Close proximity between the pool and the beach. Easy Access.
*Size- The condo complex is a nice size and shape that gives everyone a view of the beach but it is not a huge development.
*The World Famous Oasis- is walking distance- great casual restaurant/bar

*Clean- Spanish Trace is known for keeping the grounds clean and enjoyable for everyone.
* Great Management Team- Spanish Trace maintains a a philosophy within their management team that actively works to maintain an environment on the property that allows everyone to enjoy their vacation.
