The house was great! We stayed with kids, and there were even games for them to play, which was an added bonus.

We had a great time at the Taggart River House! Views and light were unbelievable and it was so nice to be there with extended family and have everyone have their own lovely spaces with bathrooms. A quick walk into town made the days even richer. Would 100% stay again! Also well stocked for kids with a high chair, crib, etc. only missing one stair gate which would have made it perfect, but we put furniture in front of those stairs and that was a great solution too.

This house is magnificent but unfortunately is not maintained well. The basement bedroom had not been cleaned and had spiders. The shower was so dirty that we did not use it. The picture of the deck has an umbrella for shade. No umbrella and the furniture cover was upside down on the deck full of stagnant water. The photos of the garden were deceiving as the raised beds were full of weeds and the lawn has not been mowed for a long time. There were strict instructions for taking out the trash but could not be followed as the trash had not been picked up from the previous tenant. We paid a lot of money to rent this house and don't feel that it lived up to its description.

The house and grounds are gorgeous and easy walking distance into Stockbridge to shop, dine and get drinks. There are also terrific hiking trails with walking distance called Laura‘s Tower and Ice Glenn. The house was very clean, spacious and equipped with everything we needed. The kitchen is enormous, making it a great space for everyone to gather and cooked together. We look forward to returning!

Great gathering place!

We recently rented this house for two weeks in order to spend time under the same roof with our grown children and baby grandson - and we couldn't have had a more enjoyable time! The house provided ample space for us to gather in small groups or larger ones whether we were indoors, outside on the deck or in the yard. The location in town was ideal for pushing the baby stroller along all the sidewalks as well as easily accessing all the shops and restaurants. With the Red Lion Inn only a block away, unexpected guests had a place to stay while spending the rest of their time with us. We found the homeowner to be very receptive to any questions we had - and very informative about the area. All in all, it was a great two weeks!

Great Getaway in the Berkshires

We planned a two family trip to Stockbridge for New Year’s, and found this house on Howeaway. The house was perfect- beautiful, clean and well decorated, and of course, very comfortable to be in. Great kitchen where we cooked almost every evening, and a great sitting room where we relaxed by the fire until late at night. Very convenient for a walk to town, a drive to the ski mountains, and all the other nearby attractions. George was incredibly friendly and helpful leading up to and following our trip (he mailed us something we forgot without a problem). We definitely would come back and look forward to more family memories there in the winter or year-round.

The Most Perfect Place Ever

We visited the Berkshires in July and were elated with our experience at this charming, cozy, beautifully done home. It felt like a home away from home and we will definitely be back! Conveniently located close to all the art, culture, yoga, shopping you could need as well as a perfect spot to connect with nature and all the beautiful people in the community. The kitchen is perfect for cooking paired with an amazing view of the stars for a cozy night in. This is the perfect place for a fun friend weekend or retreat, family trip or for a romantic weekend away. The owner George was a wonderful host with great knowledge of the area and suggestions for hotspots and local secrets. Can't beat that its so close to Jacobs Pillow if you are a dance enthusiast! Can't wait to come back!!1

WOW!

Everything about this rental was fantastic and George made it even more so. He was beyond hospitable and accommodating. The property is so spectacular, we didn't want to leave. Great area with lots to see and do whether its canoeing or kayaking, hiking, antiquing, its all here. Very peaceful and private for those seeking refuge from the hustle and bustle. Highly recommended. Thank you George, can't wait to come back!!!!

Above expectation

My wife and I visited the Berkshires early Sept for some down time and we couldn't have picked a better house. My wife fell in love with the kitchen and the overall design of the house. After our stay my wife even tried to convince me to buy her a Sub-Zero fridge like the one in the house. I told her we should just go back for a week if she misses the fridge. We loved BBQing on the deck and enjoying the river views. Just a great place. The owner George was very helpful in suggesting great restaurants and events. He also recommended we visit the Brimfield antique show http://www.brimfieldshow.com We walked the show for 2 days and didn't even get to see it all. My wife and I bought some really cool items and just loved the show. We're definitely coming back next year. Thanks for a great stay.
