Welcome to our newly remodeled home, in a wonderfully convenient location! There is easy access to the Seward Highway and the best Anchorage has to offer. We are mere minutes from downtown, and yet the house is still peaceful and serene. We are just a few blocks from the Chester Creek Greenbelt, which is wonderful for walking, jogging, biking and cross-country skiing, and it can lead you to several local parks as well as the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail.mThe large open kitchen and dining area make meal preparation a breeze. Barbecue your catch of the day on the back deck while overlooking the spacious shared backyard, then enjoy your meal on the sunny front porch. We were the first home in the neighborhood to add solar panels, and we work to incorporate eco-friendly practices throughout the home. With a newly remodeled master bathroom and a well-stocked kitchen, this home is ready to be your oasis and launching pad for your Alaskan adventure!

Beautiful property

We really enjoyed staying at the house in Anchorage. The property is beautiful and has everything you could need. The house has 4 great bedrooms and 2 baths. We never felt crowded even with 6 adults. We would definitely stay here again.

Had everything we needed, including a nice and well equipped kitchen. Plenty of space, beds, towels, dishware, seating, etc. for our extended family of seven. Beautiful place with modern look. Enjoyed the seating and plants out front too. Convenient location. While we primarily visited locations at the edge of Anchorage (and a few parks and coffee shop/bakeries closer by), this central location made getting everywhere convenient.

Don't Hesitate - Book this property!

North Star was the perfect home base for my siblings and I on our first trip to Alaska. It is conveniently located to the airport, downtown Anchorage, the Seward Highway, and many dining and shopping options. Check-in and Check out were super simple, and Jennifer responded to questions and messages quickly. She was easy to work with. The place was extremely well stocked, and we found everything we needed. The layout of the bedrooms worked great for our group, the beds were very comfortable, and I appreciated the newly remodeled bathrooms. The house is well maintained and very clean. Our whole group loved our stay here, and if (when) we ever travel to Alaska, we would definitely book it again.

Stylish and Cozy House

We stayed 8 days in August at this stylish and cozy house in Anchorage. It is well equipped with all the things you would need for a comfortable stay. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to bake and cook. They have all the appliances you need (I really wanted a blender, and they had one), and a huge rack of spices too! The landlord even left drinks in the fridge for us. If we had any questions, the landlord was quick to answer and help. The tv had a large selection of shows and there is a big deck out front with a table to enjoy your meals or just a beverage. On the back deck is a great barbecue , which we really used a lot. The laundry room is huge and well equipped . We had a wonderful stay at a very special house.

Great place, well stocked kitchen with spices, and extra items and great dishes/cooking utensils etc. Games to play like pikup sticks. Dominoes and other games for family fun. Large dining table. TV and deck. Large yard. Hostess readily available for any questions! Would stay there again

Oasis of calm was made for our family. We fit perfectly and had plenty of room to hang out. The extra touches (ie: cinnamon rolls and muffins), closet in hallway with a variety of activities for all ages, and just location met our needs well. We enjoyed sitting on the deck too. Thank you for a great start to our vacation.

Loved this house. The owner thought of many details and the house is in fabulous condition. The bathroom in the master suite has an awesome shower. Great location to downtown. Great communication with the owner. Everyone in our group of 7 was able to move around in the house comfortably.

Our return to Alaska

The house was great for our need, a place to sleep. The only thing I noticed was the filter in the refrigerator needs replacing, other than that , it was perfect. Some more TV options would be a great add on(local news, etc.).

This property worked out well for our extended family of 8. Everyone got a bed and we all fit comfortably around the dining room table. The house was well stocked with all we needed and the host was friendly and easy to get in touch with. I even enjoyed the outdoor space on the front deck. I would book again if I was in Anchorage.

Top Notch In Anchorage

We had a wonderful stay here! Our host was fabulous and very quick on any questions that we had. The newly remodeled bathrooms were so tastefully done. The location was perfect for what we were looking to do. Very easy to drive downtown for dinners and centrally located for our trips outside of Anchorage. The whole house is extremely well kept. Would definitely stay again and would recommend. Thank you again for allowing us to stay

Great place to stay for large group!

My family of 8 had no problem with space in the house. It had all the necessities needed for cooking and it was comfortable. The next door neighbors were a little loud so we needed ear plugs but other than that the place is truly wonderful. Would definitely stay again!

Alaska rendezvous for a family wedding

Spacious, clean and welcoming home for our group of 8! This home had everything you could possibly need and was conveniently located to all of our events and activities over the course of the week. Comfy beds, plenty of towels, well stocked kitchen, laundry facilities and a quiet neighborhood. Look forward to our next Alaska visit!

Awesome space

My husband and I and our four teenagers enjoyed 8 nights in this house. The house was very well stocked, and had everything we needed for our stay. It’s close enough to the highway to make it easy to travel to neighboring towns both north and south of Anchorage. Jen was easy to work with, and answered questions via text during our stay. The dining recommendations were great, and the added bonus of having teenage based books in one bedroom was a nice touch. While we knew the house didn’t have AC, it was very warm outside during our stay, but having screened in windows and box fans helped us cool off. We traveled around the region every day and were glad to come “home” to this house each night. Highly recommend to families who want to explore Alaska!

Feels Like Home

This property was perfect for our family vacation. The beds were divine, the house was clean and so beautifully decorated. There was plenty of countertop, cabinet and drawer space, so you didn’t have to be creative to use your “stuff.” My husband is on a walker, but everything was walker accessible. The shower in the master was easy for him to get into. The house was so well-stocked that we felt very much at home. The owners were lovely. It was centrally located for easy access to shopping and eating establishments. We would definitely recommend this home for families, couples or singles.

Family Alaska Vacation

We had no issues with this property. It was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. It was easy to find and get to. Jennifer was very easy to work with and had open lines of communication and quick responses. We would absolutely stay again. It fit all of our six people with room for a few more. Very nice house, loved staying there!

It was so good to find everything just as advertised! The house felt like home for 8 wonderful days. It was obvious that every effort has been used to keep the place in excellent shape. Grandaughter wedding

Outside lawn was perfect for our family dinner. Kitchen was large and well stocked( except for sheet pans or cookie sheets. ) Stove had a broken burner and we couldn’t get fan or light to work. There was plenty of sheets and towels And beds were very comfortable. I would suggest repairing outside stairs to back lawn.

My husband and I have lived in Alaska most of our lives,. We are passionate about the state, and happy to be raising our children here. I have worked as a travel adviser, tour director, kayak guide and instructor, bike guide, downhill ski instructor, and local guide. We live most of the year in Girdwood, a small ski town about 45 minutes away from Anchorage. We are happy to share our Alaskan experience with our guests to help make your stay as fulfilling as possible!

Why they chose this property

We bought this house to be close to our children's school in Anchorage during the winter. It is also two blocks away from my husband's work and close to everywhere we want to go in Anchorage.

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with this home's bright, airy feel, its large yard, and the proximity to our favorite trails in Anchorage. The warm, sunny front porch has turned into a favorite spot for outdoor meals.
