Beautiful house and property! This place was peaceful and delightful for a romantic trip. Everything was clean and high-end feeling. The hot tub was great as well. Location is close to activities yet also away from traffic. Thanks for a great stay!

We really enjoyed the hot tub after a day of hiking! The Chalet was spacious enough to have room to be alone and read, which we appreciated.Be aware that some attractions are an hour or more of driving time away. The quiet beauty of the land surrounding The Chalet was wonderful.

We’re tucked into the heart of the Black Hills, with the Badlands and Wall Drug about an hour to the east and Spearfish Canyon’s scenic drive a bit under an hour to the west. Many of our guests enjoy making a day of each, then coming back to the stillness and the hot tub. Our quiet location means you can explore in any direction without changing lodgings, and we're always happy to share some of our favorite routes; and, the best stops along the way. We loved our 4 night stay at the Chalet! The gardens were beautiful- we saw deer, a family of turkeys and several species of birds. The house was relatively close to everything we wanted to see in South Dakota. The owners are attentive and will immediately respond to any of your inquiries. Wonderful stay in South Dakota!

Beautiful, cozy cabin literally at the top of a high meadow. Loved the turkeys, deer and birds that visited every day. The hot tub was spotless and a perfect way to end each day exploring the Black Hills. Would definitely go back.

Very nice little place. Little is the key. There are no bedrooms. Only a double armoire separating a bed from the living room. All the closets are locked so no real place to unpack. Two beds upstairs in the loft with plenty of room. Sleeps five, but parks one vehicle well. Two can squeeze if they're small cars. Everyone needs to know each other very well as there is no place for privacy. Nice place, but the description needs more accuracy for people I think.

We're glad you found the Chalet to be a nice place, and we're sorry the space felt smaller than you expected for your group. The Chalet is an open floor plan cabin, as noted in our listing: the main-level bedroom is separated from the living area by two large side-by-side double armoires. The loft has two additional beds (one queen and one single bed) which opens out onto a balcony overlooking the tennis court. We'd like to clear up a couple of details for future guests: one of the two armoires is open with hangers for guest use (the other holds linens), and our paved parking area comfortably fits two full-size pickup trucks with ample room to walk around them. We hope you enjoyed the hot tub and the walking paths with benches to enjoy the views and the wildlife (wild turkeys, deer, birds, etc.). We're always happy to answer questions before booking so every guest knows exactly what to expect. Thanks again for visiting!

Property was clean and quiet in a beautiful setting, very relaxing. I do think they should not post pictures of a pond and creek on the site because they are Not on the property. I also think they should disclose that you have to drive up a steep Dirt road to get to the property about 1.5 miles. But all and all the whole visit was great.

Just a quick note for future guests: each photo on our listing has a caption, including the one with the kayaker, which is there to show that you can bring your kayak and enjoy the many area lakes in the Black Hills — that photo isn't of a pond or creek on the property itself. We're tucked into the Black Hills National Forest, so a bit of gravel/dirt road is just part of getting to this kind of peaceful, quiet, setting — but we're always happy to walk guests through directions before arrival. So glad you enjoyed your stay overall!

This property is in a beautiful peaceful location but convenient to everything we wanted to see. The home was comfortable and nicely furnished. Best feature after long hikes was the hot tub.

Loved this stay! The Chalet is so cozy and makes you feel like you are staying at a friend's house! Very clean, meticulously kept, and so peaceful. There are hiking opportunities within walking distance and the tennis court for fun nearby. The kitchen is well stocked and the hot tub is a welcome sight at the end of the day or first thing in the morning. It is also not far from rapid city and worth the drive. Will stay again if back in the area!

This was a great place to stay. It was beautiful inside and outside. The tennis court was great for burning of the kids' energy while us adults enjoyed the hot tub. The location was perfect as you got to be in nature but still had easy access to major highways. We didn't have to go far in town for groceries. We saw plenty of wildlife on the property. The owners/hosts were very nice and accessible. It was a great first VRBO experience! We'd recommend!
