Country House, completely renovated, on almost 7ha of land including 4ha of vineyard, formerly a winemaking property with remaining character. The house is south facing and has a splendid view over 180° over the valley of the Dordogne. An ideal place if you are seeking peacefulness and not to far away from all commodities. The private infinity pool provides the ideal place for amusement and wellness.

Dordogne bliss

Wonderful stay in a beautiful setting. Amazing saline pool and in a brilliant location, only five minutes or so drive from Bergerac. It was one of the most relaxing holidays we've had - I wish we could have stayed longer!

Beautiful Views

The house was a lovely peaceful retreat and had everything we needed. The pool was amazing and overlooked beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Danny was an excellent host.

We had a perfect stay at La Maison Ocre. The most peaceful setting with gorgeous views. Danny was a great host, giving us lots of suggestions for activities in the area for us and our two small children. The house was so comfortable and had everything you needed. Amazing pool area and just being surrounded by the vines was picture perfect. I’m sure we will be back. Thank you Danny!

Relaxation

Peaceful and very relaxing . A great location with beautiful views over the countryside. Stunning infinity pool next to the property. Our host, Danny, was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Being so close to Bergerac meant we could easily access restaurants in the town.

Picturesque Bergerac Break

We had a great stay at La Maison Ocre. The Gite is a good size and has a nice relaxed feel. The views of the vineyard are lovely and we enjoyed seeing Deer, Hares, Woodpeckers and more. The pool is excellent and this helped us to cool off in the hot weather. There were lots of things to do in the area and Bergerac centre was only a short drive away. Tranquil setting

Danny has created a beautiful holiday villa in a rural location just on the edge of Bergerac in the Dordogne. There is a cohesive design ethic to the property, kitchen with all necessary appliances, and an attractive outdoor table under large shady trees to enjoy meals. Very responsive to messages and requests for help. The infinity pool overlooks rolling countryside. A great base to relax and explore.

Bergerac

The property smelled of damp, needed the dehumidifier on all the time to reduce smell. Also purchased air spray. Pool unusable for three days due to pool stopping working. Pool surrounded by wasps. Advised Danny Thursday of first week re wasps he stated he would get a technician to it, as he did not arrive until Saturday, he did not. He sprayed the roof of the barn, on the Sunday after he had arrived, next to the pool as the wasps seemed to come from there, this made no difference. There were also ants at the pool that would bite. My family did not want to spend anytime by the pool. I was the only one who used it once a day for a swim. There were also three occasions when we heard scratching noises in the roof space, twice at night this consistently woke us up. We had to use a back up parasol at the pool when we arrived which was ripped and mouldy. The parasol we should have been using was locked in Danny’s home and could not be accessed until Danny returned.Very disappointed with the pool situation as this was a major reason for staying.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your stay didn’t fully meet your expectations. Strange to get this after a friendly goodbye. The pool was temporarily affected due to extreme heat for one day and due to algae after a summer storm. This was addressed immediately after a belated message was received from you, and the water was clear again the next day. The pool was used as normal for the remainder of your stay. Due to the rural setting, insects like wasps and ants can unfortunately be present And with extreme temperatures they come to drink at the pool end. After your report, we treated the roof area next to the pool right away. The noises you heard on the roof were most likely caused by birds or small animals walking on the roof, which is common in natural surroundings like ours. You text me that this only occurred the first night The parasol had been damaged by the storm and was temporarily replaced with a backup. This was resolved upon our return. At departure, you only mentioned that the high temperatures were the main reason the stay felt challenging. We completely understand, especially during these circumstances. Un excellent séjour à Maison ocre : calme absolu, piscine superbe, très beau jardin avec des arbres, de l’ombre et vue sur les vignes de Danny. La maison est très agréablement décorée et meublée, reste fraîche même en période de forte chaleur! Tout à fait adaptée à une famille de 4 personnes. Mention spéciale à la salle de bain avec son point d’eau intégré dans l’ancienne pierre. Danny est un hôte très agréable, disponible et qui partage ses recommandations. Nous avons même eu la chance de goûter son vin actuellement en cours de mise en bouteille sur la propriété.Nous recommandons chaleureusement cette location, des vacances très reposantes comme nous le souhaitions dans un lieu idéal !

Rust, ruimte en de stad dichtbij

Heerlijk huis met eigen zwembad aan de wijnvelden net buiten Bergerac. Veel ruimte zowel binnen als buiten. Gastvrije ontvangst door prettige eigenaar en het huis heeft alles wat je nodig hebt voor een relaxte week in de Dordogne.

Paradise found

We had a fantastic time in this wonderful house in peaceful, rural surrounds, which is only only a 5 minute drive into the centre of town. The pool and outdoor area are fantastic for unwinding with the kids, with the added bonus of deer roaming the vineyard. Danny and Evi are fantastic hosts, with plenty of great suggestions for a pleasant stay.

Blissful Retreat

The property is idyllic with stunning views both out over their own vineyard, as well as neighbouring vineyards over the lip of the infinity pool. The farmhouse is a calm retreat where Danny's design credentials shine through. He has created a sanctuary where you can't help but relax and switch off. All the family had a wonderful few weeks in Bergerac, in spite of the mixed weather and felt completely rejuvenated by the time we came to leave. Only slight downside is that there are no shops, patisseries or restaurants within walking distance and so you need to take the car whenever you want to go out.

Fantastic stay

We have just returned from our fantastic visit to this beautiful property. The house is lovely and the grounds are stunning. My daughter especially liked the pool! Danny the host is super friendly and very helpful and accommodating. We have already book for next year.

Petit coin de paradis

On ne pouvait espérer mieux. Le cadre est superbe et reposant. La vue est incroyable et la maison confortable. Les propriétaires sont extrêmement accueillants. Ça a été une très belle rencontre pour nous. Une seule envie : y retourner.

Deux semaines particulièrement agréables

Gîte très agréable : bon lits, pièce à vivre claire, confortable et joliment décorée, cuisine bien équipée. Très bel endroit, très calme, superbe vue, de très beaux arbres. Rust en ruimte

Het huis biedt alle comfort, maar het belangrijkste is toch wel de heerlijke ligging aan de rand van de druivenvelden met daarachter een prachtig vergezicht, wisselend met het licht en de wolkenpartijen, in het bijzonder tijdens de zonsondergang. Van die buitenruimte kan optimaal worden genoten op het terras voor de woning en vanaf de zit- en liggelegenheid aan het riante zwembad. De ontvangst was uiterst vriendelijk en de eigenaar, heel druk met een moeizame oogst van zijn merlotdruiven, bleef steeds betrokken en behulpzaam. Met het fraaie en sympathieke Bergerac op luttele autominuten kunnen wij La Maison Ocre zeer aanbevelen. Kees & Inge
