Casa Romero is a newly restored 100 year old family home with original vigas and 20 inch thick adobe walls. This romantic, charming home is a beautiful, peaceful home that truly is a home away from home. Just a 15 minute drive to Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort, and 10 minutes to the Pecos Wilderness Trail Head, Carson National Forest. Taos, NM 20 miles away, and Santa Fe, merely an hour away.

Our newly restored home has maintained its original charm with modern touches, such as hand-sanded hardwood floors, new upscale appliances, granite countertops, soaker tub w/jets, custom built shower, and reclining leather couches.

Kitchen fully equipped, 6-burner gas stovetop, wall oven, microwave, dishwasher, opens to a private portal for outdoor eating, grilling and relaxation.

Master bedroom with queen bed on main floor. Third bed is in upstairs loft. Has private outside entrance, large sitting area, queen bed, and 1/2 bath. The adjoining balcony provides an awesome view of the majestic Jicarita Peak and surrounding open fields.

Washer/dryer, bed and bath linens provided.

Come enjoy a peaceful, quiet weekend in the beautiful Penasco Valley.

Great place to escape city life and noise

The property is beautiful; there is a creek that runs in front of the property, you are surrounded by nature and no city noise or lights. The furnishings are top notch and the owners have provided everything you need.

hidden gem, but well worth the search.

There isn't a negative thing I would or could say about this property. Lovely and quit, with everything a person on a vacation could need. We came for Feast on the pueblo and to visit friends and had an enjoyable time. Convenient location to make several day trips around the area and then come home to a comfortable evening. Thank you to our hosts, we would recommend this property to anyone.

Perfect for our Ski Trip

Our family of six loved staying at this house! It was only a 15 minute drive to Sipapu ski resort, and the house had everything we needed for our stay. The little ones loved having their own bedroom (off the master bath and small, but perfect for them) and the older kids enjoyed the upper loft room and hangout area. The master bedroom was cozy and the jacuzzi and heated floor in the bathroom was awesome! The owners allowed us to check in early and were quick to respond to any questions we had. We will definitely stay here again!

One brother, three sisters, ten days!

The title just about says it all. We had a good time together and loved your house. We not only spent time in New Mexico, but also went on to the Grand Canyon and Painted Dessert. Thanks again for your hospitality.

Birthday proposal in Taos.

Lovely property and immaculate home with every amenity one can hope for from washer dryers, kitchen ware bath items.... This place can hold a huge get together as there is ample space both inside and out. Coffee on the deck or drinks under the stars was memorable. The drive to Taos made the relative proximity enjoyable. We had a glitch with check in which made things awkward but overall we were had a wonderful stay and drove away newly engaged.

A Wonderful Find in a Mountain Valley

My husband and I rented this property for a mountain getaway. The house is located in a mountain valley. The main part of the house is a 100 year old adobe home that has been fully renovated. It is fabulous with everything you need including excellent kitchen appliances. The furnishings are extremely nice and bathrooms are big and like new. It’s off the beaten path which was nice with a 35 minute drive to Taos. You can’t go wrong with this one!

This home is about a 15-20 minute drive to Sipapu ski area. The home was clean and had everything we needed and more. The sunset views from the balcony are gorgeous. The teens loved the upstair mini apartment. They enjoyed their own space very much. We were very appreciative of the gentleman that came and cleared off the drive away and swept our sidewalk and steps after the beautiful snow we had overnight. The owners have done a wonderful job on this home and are very responsive to any questions you will have. We will definitely be back.

Exactly what we wanted

Property is a bit remote, but that's exactly what we wanted. 30 minutes or so to Taos or Espanola, and Santa Fe is a little over an hour. Several small wineries, breweries, and cafes within a 5-20 minute drive... and a Family Dollar store is 5 minutes away for simple groceries and essentials. A beautifully restored historic pueblo home with modern fixtures and appliances that sits at around 8,000 feet elevation, so expect a 5-10 degree temperature drop from the Taos area... a perfect evening cooldown after site seeing in the desert areas all day. If a quiet, relaxing stay is what you're after, this is the place. The owners were also fantastic and happy to work with us when we had some travel challenges.

Great little home off the beaten path. Great views and was happy with the location. About an hour to Santa Fe and about 40 minutes to Taos. Had a wonderful time.

Clean property and nicely equipped (kitchen, bathrooms, BBQ, laundry facilities). The location is quite remote (a grocery with fresh fruit/veggies is 30 minutes), but centrally located to visit Taos, Santa Fe, and Los Alamos.

Beautiful updated Adobe Home

This is the second stay for us at this home. Very nicely updated adobe home. We love the outdoor spaces and the amazing views and plenty of room for our family. Ben the owner responded very quickly to questions. I love the open floor plan that allowed us to cook while visiting. Well stocked with basic necessities. If you enjoy watching hummingbirds bring a feeder and you will be thoroughly entertained.

Great Vacation Spot

We loved staying here! There was room for us to spread out and it was close enough to Taos and skiing areas. The only thing to mention is I wish there was a door unstead of a curtain to the main bathroom. Great stay, would book again.

Beautiful home!

The only thing that could have been better is if I had headed the words of the host, “use his written directions” do NOT use your GPS. We drove in at night, it’s hard to see out there at night. The GPS had us on the other side of the mountain, at the end of a dirt road. The host came out in his truck to come and try to rescue us. Very kind.

Quiet Mountain Escape

This property was a great place for our small family of 2 grandparents, 2 parents, a young aduly and 2 grandchildren under the age of 4 to stay. There were a total of 5 adults and 2 kids. We brought our own hand soap and paper towels because in most places that stuff isn’t provided, but there was not only hand soap, but laundry detergent, and shampoo available. Check in was easy and when some stray puppies wandered into the property the owners were quick to respond. The view from the patio was beautiful every morning and the landscaping was immaculate. We definitely would consider staying here again.
