Quiet and bright apartment in a convent adjacent to a church that dates back to 1300 in the heart of the old town. Large and well cared furnishing is spacious and bright with a living room with a large beam that divides the space, two comfortable sofas and a table for lunch and dinner. Equipped with Tv, stereo and wi-fi
Composed by two double rooms and two bathrooms, one with shower, a big living room and open kitchen. To reach the house you have to walk up a little and then make two storey stairs without elevator, not recommended. The neighborhood is characteristic and consists of small brick streets and a beautiful square where is located the ancient Carmine market, just renovated, in which you can dine. In the square also two nice bars and a great bakery where to buy "focaccia" a typical Genoese bread.
The neighborhood is located near Via Garibaldi, the heart of the old town and one of the most beautiful streets of the city with its palaces and museums. It is a 5-minute walk from the Aquarium, the Expo area the Porto Antico beachfront.
Close to the train station Genoa Piazza Principe and a few minutes from the bus stop.

Lots of stairs

The apartment was really great. Well equipped kitchen and bice bathrooms. Plenty of space and lots of natural light. Beware there are a lot of stairs that may hamper those with mobility issues.

187 stairs to the front door, under construction

With a 187 stairs to the front door it was a marathon. The first smell inside the courtyard and stairs was urine. Construction dust and scaffolding was everywhere. Had to put towels at the door to keep the dust out. I was told it would be two more years of construction. It felt vacant, in one month I saw only a few people. Inside apt. was nice, but lots of mosquitos, no screens, very hot. It was special to be in an 800 year old building though. Just needs lots of work. The pictures are accurate, just missing pictures of the problem areas which look more like a ruin. Heavy beam between kitchen and living room at about 3 feet high. My son hit his head hard a couple times. As a result of all the above the vacation was exhausting.

Schönes Appartment

Eine schöne, große Wohnung. Die Lage ist gut, man kommt schnell überall hin. Zu Fuß ca. 10 Minuten bis zum Hafen. Die Bushaltestelle ist gleich ums Eck. Genua hat viele schöne Sehenswürdigkeiten. Leider war es diesen August sehr heiß in der Stadt, sodass man tagsüber kaum draußen rumlaufen konnte. Wir würden gerne im Frühling oder Herbst nochmal nach Genua.

Mooi appartement in een geweldige stad

We hebben een hele fijne vakantie gehad in het mooie appartement van Luisa. De stad was geweldig. De locatie van het appartement was heel speciaal omdat het in een oud gedeelte van Genova in een oud klooster is gebouwd. Enige nadeel waren de vele, vele trappen. Tip: weinig bagage en goed ter been zijn. Maar zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Gut ausgestattete, gemütliche Wohnung. Ruhig gelegen und dennoch nahe an allem was man braucht (Supermarkt, Apotheke, Bäckerei und Restaurants). In Fussweite ebenfalls der Bahnhof, die Altstadt und der Hafen. Wer allerdings nicht gut zu Fuss ist und keine Treppen steigen mag, sollte sich das überlegen.

Sehr schönes und ruhiges Appartment mit zentraler Lage für sportlich ambitionierte Treppensteiger

Das Appartment befindet sich im historischen Gemäuer eines ehemaligen Klosters in zentraler Lage. Bäcker und kleine Markthalle in 200m Entfernung. Luiza war sehr nett und unkompliziert. Im Appartment ist alles Notwendige vorhanden. Wir haben die Wohnung zusammen mit unseren beiden erwachsenen Söhnen genutzt, was aufgrund der ausreichenden Größe der Wohnung kein Problem war. Luiza hat uns auch bei der Suche nach einer Parkmöglichkeit geholfen. Auch mit der 400m entfernten Garage hat alles sehr gut funktioniert. Nochmals Danke für diesen Hinweis, weil das Parken in Genua ansonsten eine echte Herausforderung ist.

It is a climb to the apartment but then you’ll find it is a unique space with a lot of light and all the amenities you might want for a stay. On the edge of the oldest parts of the city. An easy walk to most everything. And Luisa was a thoughtful and very helpful host

Wonderful, comfortable stay

Our weeklong visit to this remarkable city was made so very special by this very agreeable apartment - near the centre of Genoa, yet away from any noise. The owner met us, and gave us very good advice about the city - especially where we could eat. We'll be back!

watch for steps....

The apartment is really very nice but... I would not recommend for elder people or young kids, neather for anyone with walking difficulties. The first picture is showing you the church, not the front of the apartment. The entrance is the 2nd picture. Veeery old, ruined building (like most in the city). This didn t bother us at all. Only after more than 100 mts of steps up from the road and then other 20 mts up of the apartment itself (you can see on the side of the church). From there, it is at least 3 1/2 real levels inside to go up inside the building...Forget about any heavy luggage! On our second night we arrived late at night and it took half hour to make it in because the lock on the building was not working well. following day one of the neighbours helped us and tought us the little trick about it (would have been great knowing) Once inside the apartment each room has a different level, sometimes 5 steps, like kitchen, or 3 from one of the rooms; no handrail which makes it risky for the elder or young kids. Good for excercise though! As the weather is going much warmer lately I would strongly recommend more fans (only 1 small is available) considering there are 2 rooms. No courtains at kitchen area making it really hot. No microwaves. We only found 2 regular glasses available. No coffemaker, but only a tiny individual Italian one. Dont bring your car to Genova! Even during weekends it is almost impossible to park on the street (though I was told not to worry about it). You can do only coins in the machines (good luck if need to get some). Some belongings were left at the place and it was hard to hear back from them and still waiting to do arrangements. Luisa, the owner, was very nice from the begining but I was expecting a better experience. I was a bit desappointed...

OLIVELLA INCANTEVOLE

Sono stata nell'appartamento di Luisa con mia marito e la nostra bimba di 4 anni per tre notti: è davvero molto bello e particolare, situato all'interno di un ex convento del 1200 raggiungibile solo a piedi. La casa è accogliente, arredata con gusto e dotata di ogni confort (dai libri alla musica), la cucina è ben attrezzata. La posizione è ottima per visitare la città e scoprire il suggestivo quartiere del Carmine. La piazza omonima (pedonale), a pochi minuti dall'appartamento, è una vera risorsa per la presenza di un mercato alimentare, un bar, un ristorante e una panetteria. Li abbiamo provati tutti e siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti. Luisa ci ha accolto con calore ed è stata molto disponibile.

Appartement de caractère quartier historique

Très bel appartement de caractère dans le quartier historique de Gênes. Quartier typique et calme. Très bien situé à moins de 10 minutes des palais. Idéal pour des visites. Possibilité de se garer en voiture pas loin de l'appartement. Il y a pas de mal de marches à monter avant de se retrouver dans l'appartement mais cela en vaut largement la peine ! Luisa fut une hôte charmante et accueillante. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter !

Très agréable séjour dans le beau logement de Luisa.Bel espace,confortable ,chambres éloignées:idéal pour 2 couples.Le quartier est vivant:restaus et commerces à proximité.Ne pas s'encombrer de bagages trop lourds car il y a pas mal d'escaliers à gravir avant d'atteindre le logement.Luisa est une hôte très accueillante et nous a attendus malgré notre arrivée tardive.

What makes this property unique

The apartment is beautiful but not comfortable to reach, you have to walk up a little and then make two storey stairs without elevator. But is a special place, bright, quiet and cozy
