About this property
The Lake House on Lake Hamilton
We have been listing with VRBO for over 15 years and have a proven track record. The Lake House has the most beautiful view of Lake Hamilton and is located right on the water with over 100 feet of lake frontage. You will not find a more peaceful and secluded location and yet you are only 30 minutes away from downtown Hot Springs, horse racing, and all that a resort town has to offer. We have a strict limit of no more than 4 adults and 2 kids (but kids must be 12 years or younger).
The lake house is 1,200 sq. ft. with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, large living room and dining area. The living room and dining room have French doors that open onto a 550 foot wood deck which over looks the lake. Please note that the living room area faces the lake and there are no houses on that side so we opted not to place any curtains or blinds on those windows to allow for better views and more light. It is very private. There are blinds and/or curtains in all other rooms. Bedrooms have king and queen sized beds. A futon is located in the living area that will sleep two. The house is well maintained with central air, washer/dryer, and fully equipped kitchen. A 2 car detached garage is located at the front of the property. On the waterfront we have a large covered boat dock with a 300 foot deck area where you can sit back, relax and enjoy a drink as you look out over the water.
This property allows the best of both worlds. Get out of town to be in the country, yet have all the comforts of home as well as all that a city has to offer less than thirty minutes away by boat or car. Something for the entire family: Dad’s off to the horse races, the kids go for a dip in the lake, mom relaxes on the deck with a cold glass of lemonade while grandma fishes and grandpa strolls under the Arkansas Pines. Everyone needs to get away and there is no better place than our little piece of paradise.
For our winter guests, please note: The lake is lowered in the winter months beginning November 1st and raised again at the beginning of March. It's usually lowered anywhere from one to three feet. The lake will resemble more of a river and there is no water under the dock in winter. However, it is still beautiful and even more peaceful.
We have resisted cable or Wi-Fi at all of our homes and we have never gotten a complaint about someone missing it. In fact, we have heard the opposite—that it was nice to get away from the internet. It also helps us to save on costs which is reflected in our rates. We know that the lack of that modern convenience may be a necessity, and we understand if our place isn't right for you. However, we do get great cell coverage and one can tether to a phone if needed. We do have a nice collection of "old school" VHS tapes and DVD's.

This property was perfect for a nice quiet fall getaway. Enjoyed an evening fire in the fire pit, the lakeside dock, and all the comforts of this beautiful home. Highly recommend as a homebase for a great weekend.
We were very impressed with the house and access to the lake. Had intended to visit Hot Springs, but found the lakeside house and dock so peaceful that we never made it into town.
Quick family trip with two school aged kids for spring break and we had a great experience. Second time staying here and didn’t disappoint.Owner Jeff was super responsive on a couple minor issues and resolved within minutes. Highly recommend
Beautiful view, property clean
We really enjoyed our stay and the deer were so beautiful to watch . I would recommend updating mattresses in bedrooms the king bed you could feel the springs and queen bed you would get stuck in a hole... but everything else was perfect.
A very relaxing vacation…house and lake was beautiful. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys downtime equipped with games, movies, reading and some fishing. Look forward to returning.
We were in search for a family-friendly and relaxing getaway where we could enjoy beautiful scenery, fishing, swimming and quality time together. Jeff’s place exceeded all our expectations!! Just make sure to pack mosquito spray for night time!
This is the fourth time I have stayed at this fantastic lake property! I keep coming back again and again because it is such a gem. The homeowners have thought of everything you need and more. The house is spotless, the views are to die for and the relaxation can be beat! If you pass up this fantastic rental, you will be sorry you did!
Had fun on our spring break trip. The place had a beautiful view and I enjoyed drinking my coffee outside while listening to the birds. My kids enjoyed fishing. I’m glad this place had entertainment outside. And we got to enjoy tv in the evenings. My kids got to learn what a VCR and VHS are.
Jeff, the Property Owner was fantastic, responsive within minutes throughout. The property was secluded from the nearby city but the drive into town was right up my alley...curvy, scenic, and quiet. The house is everything you want or need and if you take advantage of the fishing of the dock and just let yourself go, you won't even pick up your phone. I think we will come back, definitely!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Lake Hamilton for the viewing of the solar eclipse. The dock was hang out central for fishing, paddle boats, and relaxing. Interior and patio furniture could use a little updating. The grill is small and uses charcoal. It would also have been nice to have more than 2 dishwasher pods and some foil or cling wrap. We loved the yard and view which more than made up for all the minor inconveniences. The host was also very pleasant and responsive. Would recommend this VRBO.
We wanted to spend a few days exploring the Hot Springs area and this property was the perfect getaway. We had a nice combination of being able to see the sights for part of the day and relax on the private dock in the mornings and later in the evening. We loved feeling the breeze off the lake and watching the boats. The table on the back deck was also great for a few outdoor meals. The kitchen is well equipped, though we only did simple meals so we could spend more time relaxing. There were plenty of videos to watch and games to play, though we found we didn't even need them. There were even books to read if we hadn't brought our own. The beds were quite comfortable. Our biggest problem was having to leave when our stay was over!
Beautiful house in country on Lake Hamilton. Very quiet and cozy. The whole place was very well stocked and equipped. We enjoyed the quiet and seeing lots of deer and squirrels.
It was so well equipped with all your needs. Very clean and comfortable. The lake view alone is so peaceful. We will definitely return and/or recommend it to others.
This is an unassuming yet delightful little vacation rental right on the river. The fenced back yard was perfect to let my little ones run and play, and the dock was a breath of fresh air (literally - the breeze blew right down the river). We loved sitting out there in the evenings as the trees across the river were bathed in golden light near sunset. The accommodations were fine and the kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and utensils. The most unexpected bonus? A working VHS player and an extensive collection of '90s movies! This Millennial loved cranking up 30-year-old movies from his childhood to show his kids and demonstrate how technology used to work - and I even had to bust out the ol' butter knife fix to repair one stuck VHS (you're welcome, Jeff)!
We just had a few small complaints, none of which were worth docking a star:
1) The river was VERY busy. Granted, it was Labor Day weekend, but there were boats steaming by 100-150 feet away from the dock at high speed every 30-60 seconds, no exaggeration. Fishing was completely unfruitful thanks in large part to the high traffic. Obviously, this isn't the property owner's fault; it's just something to consider if you're looking for a quieter place.
2) There were signs posted in the bedroom asking us to fold up the comforters and not use them. Really? This was a bit silly to us; if it's on the bed, the implied assertion is that it's meant to be used. We think guests shouldn't need to switch out the "photogenic" comforter for a more functional blanket just to use the bed.
3) Spider webs everywhere! The dock in particular started to look like a Halloween decoration just after sunset as the hundreds of spiders came out to play every night. We live in the country ourselves, so we're used to lots of bugs - but we suggest that a small amount of environmentally-friendly pest control in the high traffic areas may help guests avoid the "spider web dance" from walking through webs every day.
Again, very minor complaints - and certainly not significant enough to detract from what was a lovely experience. Thanks for a great time!
Little slice of heaven/ peaceful/relaxing/beautiful
We had the most amazing, fun, peaceful and relaxing vacation here on Lake Hamilton!! The property was absolutely beautiful with a nice backyard overlooking beautiful Lake Hamilton. We enjoyed the pier and being able to dock a boat. We enjoyed the deer every morning and evening!! We loved exploring the lake, hills, hiking, swimming, fishing. Wonderful memories made here we will definitely be back!!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us
We really enjoyed our stay! There was more than enough room for my family of 5. The view from the back porch and dock was amazing. We also saw several deer which we loved! Thank you for sharing your property with us!
Beautiful place that worked perfect for my family. The kids loved to set and fish off the dock (they didn’t catch much but they didn’t care.) The house had been painted since the pic I saved so if you’re like me and worry you’re not in the right place, don’t worry! Bit of a drive if you’re in and out of town a lot but we didn’t mind at all with the scenery. Lots of deer, geese, lizards, little fish. Fun for the kiddos or perfect place to just lounge and relax.
The house was located on the lake with a big dock for fishing and drinking morning coffee.
My family and I enjoyed our weekend playing the board games, cards and watching old VHS movies that the owner provided.
The owner was quick to respond and the house was very nice and quaint.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a private fishing dock or a weekend getaway!

Why they chose this property
When I started looking for a lake house, I had no idea what to expect. I looked at a lot of 'so called' lake properties that were either not on the lake at all or were perhaps more on a creek. Once I walked into this house and saw the view, I knew it was the place for me. I fell in love with it immediately. Unfortunately, the owners were not listing it for sale for another whole year. Luckily, when multiple offers came in on the first listing day, they gave me priority. I could travel almost anywhere in the world with my flexible schedule, but I find myself always coming back to the Lake House. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
