From the ad I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect but the Bach is in immaculate condition with heat pump, all needed appliances, even towels to us! We had a great stay and the location and fish and chips are great!
This is a very comfortable, well equipped Bach.
The view over the road to the sea is wonderful and it was great to spend a couple of days there relaxing.
Excellent amenities, Awesome view. Had a wonderful weekend getaway. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a peaceful getaway from the city. Tarnz and Mark.

Welcome anytime at the Sea Urchin Cottage.

Very cute seaside bach in an awesome location, just over the road from the sea. Clean, very comfortable and well equipped, with a fully fenced garden. Also really good communication from the owner. Highly recommended for a summer holiday or a short winter getaway.
Awesome place! Had everything we needed and more. Thank you for letting us stay! Only problem was the weather 😂

Glad you had a nice stay at the Cottage. Welcome anytime. Next time hopefully the weather will be better. I promise some days its idyllic.
Cheers Paul & Zoe the wonder dog.
Felt like a genuine Kiwi Bach by the sea, loved it,had everything you would need and would have been comfortable regardless of the weather. Would absolutely stay there again. Paul was helpful and always available if needed. Perfect spot if you want to relax and just look at the water. Great playground for the kids across the road, and we found some nice swimming spots nearby.
We attended a wedding at Orere Point, stayed two nights. Well equipped Bach, quick stroll to coffee, lovely sunrises and ocean view. Six adults managed the space, bunk beds were OK for our short stay. Thank you, would stay again.
Such a lovely cute cottage. We had a fabulous time such a lovely spot looking out over the water. The cottage was definitely like a home away from home and presented so nicely. All 4 of us felt so relaxed when we left. Thank you
The Sea Urchin cottage is a perfect place to relax & enjoy stunning views. Great weather was a bonus
The process from start to finish was without issue & Paul, the host, was very accommodating.
He has a lovely slice of heaven which he proudly shared with us.
Lovely home on Firth of Thames. Town is isolated and minimal food available on Monday since restaurants closed and no grocery store. Despite small check in hiccup promptly resolved by owner Paul, we loved his home.
Beautiful bach, amazing spot, dog friendly. Perfect getaway from busy lives to take a moment to slow down and breathe. We can’t wait to return and bring the family.
Lovely clean property in excellent location for quite family holiday
Lovely clean house everything provided, excellent location for family holiday. Also dog friendly property Great fishing at night with surfcasters, netting for flounder and mullet in the daytime, found a great safe swimming hole in the domain were we all had a blast. Awesome bike rides with very little trafic so safer for all on family bikerides. Also took the boys to the private boat ramp quarry what a great place to fish from, quite unique. Pink shop had lovely ice creams and great hot chips and the gas service station was fully stocked. Overall just fantastic place and location for family holiday. Cheers Paul and Family
Awesome spot, gorgeous sunrise and sunset! We loved our night there, it would have been great to stay longer! Only feedback was it wasn’t super easy to tell what the set-up of the bach was like, a floor plan picture (even vague) would be an added bonus on the website, just for bringing baby purposes! Paul generosity provided us with a porta cot, awesome service. Thanks heaps
The property was beautiful! Thoughtfully designed and very clean. Stunning views. The owner was so easy to communicate with too! We really enjoyed our stay here.

Why they chose this property
Kaiaua is famous for its licensed and dine in Fish'n'Chip shop, a 200 meter walk away. Or catch your own and cook or BBQ it at the cottage. There is a well known Tavern that also serves pub meals. The Gas station (petrol and fuels) has a good range of Grocery items and supplies. Plus the Pink Shop (75 meters away) for Burgers, cakes, Shakes, Ice Cream, Milk, Bread and essentials. The Boat Club is open on special weekend evenings, great fun when they have competition days. Miranda Shorebird centre and reserves are 7km away. **Miranda Hot pools are currently CLOSED for renovaations. There are hikes and easy walks from the Waharau reserve through to the Mangatangi Dam.
What makes this property unique
I make my own sauces and condiments. Plus the Soy candles & soap in the bathroom. A clean and reasonably Green home where we use Earth smart or similar non fragranced or friendly natural products where suitable.
