We really enjoyed our stayed in the Cabin. So cozy and we love all the decorations! We had all we need. The house was very clean and also the hot tub that we enjoyed almost every night!
Everything was as described and host was very communicative and flexible with questions. Really enjoyed the upstairs entertainment room. Thank you for having the AC on for us on day 1!
Overall the stay was great. The hot tub is well kept and very clean. The house is adorable and very lovely.
Not the best looking neighborhood. More people than I expected, but a pretty quiet neighborhood.
We loved the nostalgic cabin vibe! The animal art, nature photography, and hunting/fishing memorabilia really make this place feel special. It’s incredibly cozy, quaint, and relaxing. The decor is in point, and the amenities very convenient. We loved relaxing in the hottub after a long day. The cozy fireplace with twinkling lights added ambience, the warmly lit lamps around the cabin and decor made it feel like grandpas cabin. We really felt cared for and welcomed by Brenda! She left us an anniversary card and homemade delicious lavender shortbread cookies, and also brought a puzzle over for our son to play with. You can really tell there’s a lot of love and care that go into this place and you feel right at home.
Great retreat into the woods. Hot tub with umbrella (if you don't want to get sprinkled on), gazebo with fire pit and lights (was a lovely way to be outside at night with the rain). House was fully appointed and easy to find things. Full handbook from the owner complete with hiking recommendations. Great communication before, during, and after with the owner!

Amazing!!
We loved everything about the Owls Nest! Great location and views. Super cozy and plenty of space for everyone. Who doesn’t want to sit in a hot tub and stare at mountains?!!? All the basics you need are provided, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, oils and spices and more! My only advice would be to grab groceries before you hit town as the local grocery store is very expensive. We would love to return soon! Richard was a great and communicative host.
The house was beautiful, it everything we needed (well almost we couldn't find scissors). Oh WOW all the decorations, the two days we were there we saw new stuff. The hot tub was just what we needed after our long truck there. Down stairs bedroom bed was comfy. We were able to make the hike down to the water. It was a little pokey (all the vines and ferns oh and low branches, hahah) but it was a fun and worth while hike. Thank you
Wife and sister loved hot tub. Pictures online are exactly what we saw. Quiet neighborhood, slept well as beds were comfortable. First stay of this type for us as we were attending a wedding in the area. As others noted neighbor has messy property but we never saw them or heard them. Most houses are well kept. If I have a reason to go back I would stay again. Owner made sure I knew what I needed and was easy to contact. Overall good first home rental. Everyone seemed pleased with the place.
Property is beautiful and well equipped. There are neighbors but the heavily landscaped cul-de-sac location makes it feel secluded and private. Lots of great outdoor activities nearby, and Monroe isn't far of a drive if you're looking for large city attractions.
We enjoyed our time at the cabin in Gold Bar. We had access to hiking, rope climbing and beautiful drives with views of the cascade mountains. The Owls Nest has the perfect mountain cabin vibe and is clean, nice, and well-equipped, with everything we needed. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
We totally appreciated our stay at The Owl's Nest in Gold Bar, WA! The location felt secluded, though it was in a cul de sac, the home was truly "homey" and welcoming. An unexpected blessing was the tankless water heater, which allowed both bathroom showers to be used at the same time, thus speeding things up when it was time to end the day. Richard was always on top of communicating with us and making sure our needs were met. We definitely plan to stay there again if all works out the next time we travel to that area! Thank you for sharing your home with us, Richard!
Loved this house!! It was nice and clean, and had so many amenities. The owner was extremely helpful and answered any questions we had. We had such a great time and would totally stay here again. Beds were really comfy and showers nice!
The owl’s nest is perfect for a few days R&R. Cosy, comfortable and quirky in a tranquil setting (despite being able to hear passing traffic from the hot tub). The host was very helpful and keen to ensure that we enjoyed our stay, which we did!
The cabin is charming, beautiful and inviting. The decor is a everything you hope for in a serene comfortable family home in the woods. It was very hard to leave. Kitchen was very well equipped to prepare a big Holiday meal, and the hot tub is the best one I have ever tried. Beautiful emerald river and in the neighborhood including a county park half mile away. I will be booking again in the near future. Host was very nice, too.
We had a great time staying in gold bar at the owls nest, the hot tub was great. The fireplace was cozy, stocked kitchen with lots of spices, wine available for purchase, big kitchen table. Nice little trail to the river just to the left at the end of the driveway.
A beautiful cabin with incredible landscaping and awesome amenities! Richard, our host, was most attentive and gracious and was always available to answer questions and give advice and suggestions. We were in town for a special occasion so our dance cards were pretty full but we did avail ourselves of the fire pit during our first evening at the Nest and thoroughly enjoyed the respite. The beds are super cozy and we all slept very well. The kitchen is well appointed with all manner of convenient appliances. And while we didn't have time to partake, there is a lovely hot tub in the scenic backyard. I highly recommend the Nest to anyone looking for a great stay at the gateway to the Cascades or to those who are visiting Snohomish or Everett (usually just a half hour to 45 minute drive away). Bottom line, we will definitely be landing at the Owl's Nest again.
The place is stocked with amenities; we spent a lot of time in the backyard around the firepit and it was very convenient to have the river right across the road.
This was perfect for myself and my best friend, from Oklahoma, to hang out and have quality time. We used the hot tub every day. If you are staying more than three days make sure you get instructions on checking the hot tub and keeping it chlorinated. We loved it. It's a nice walk to the river. The owner added in a delightful firepit and he's putting in an A/C unit as well. We were comfortable the entire time. We had everything we needed and Richard goes out of his way to make sure all needs are met. A very nice man. We felt like friends. This is basically a comfortable cabin like setting in a home. There are neighbors but you still feel like you have plenty of privacy. The porch and patio are nice to spend time on and the view out the upper bedroom window made every morning. I would most certainly stay again!

Amazing get away weekend! We celebrated our mom’s 92th birthday, it was the perfect house for her, easy access, bedroom/bath downstairs, fireplace flickering and all the mountain cabin memorabilia made us feel right at home. We shopped at Pike Street market before heading to the mountains. Richard’s kitchen was a fun place for all of us to create some fabulous meals. The hot tub and back yard made the trip. The bonus was a 10 minute stroll through the fern Forrest down to the river. The trail starts at the end of the driveway! Thanks for making our stay so special!
Great place to hang the interior is filled with unique and well placed accent items and absolutely wonderful pictures in particular the women on a cliff,, the placement of plants and trees provide a wonderful private feel to the covered front porch . It is well kept and very comfortable we will stay again and would recommend it to anyone that wants to get away and go for a hike on any one of the nearby trails and or just chill.
