The Location
South of Southtown; located 1/2 mile from Mission Concepcion and 350 feet from the newly built Confluence Park Pavilion and its entertainment facilities overlooking the convergence of the San Antonio River.
The Hike & Bike Trail along the San Antonio River connects all five missions in San Antonio: The Alamo, Mission Concepcion, Mission San Jose, Mission San Juan, and Mission Espada. Each mission is about 2.5 miles from the next. Bike rentals are available at Confluence Park; so you can bike, walk or drive to Lone Star, King William, Downtown, Pearl Brewery, San Antonio River and the Historic San Antonio Missions.
Easy access to US-90 allows for a short drive to other popular sites such as the Henry B Gonzalez Convention Center (2.5mi), Alamodome (2.9mi), Pearl Brewery
(6.2mi), AT&T Center (7.2 mi), Lackland Air Force (9.7mi ), and Sea World (15 mi).
Historic Detail
The Battle of Concepcion fought on October 28, 1835, “the first major engagement of the Texas Revolution”, occurred on the grounds of mission Concepcion. Two major figures from the war, Jim Bowie and James Fanning.
