PIONEER MEADOW: The cabins at Pioneer Meadow are antique log cabins made of poplar, oak, and chestnut logs purchased throughout the south and restored to their original beauty. The logs were numbered, transported to our property and reassembled.

HISTORY: The original Robinette (named for it's founding family) was built in Blackwater, Virginia, circa 1800. It was last sold in 1900 for $1 to a couple who promised to take care of the owners of the property until they died. They raised 6 children in this loft cabin. We added an old smokehouse to the bottom floor to serve as a master bedroom.

LOCATION:
5 miles from Pigeon Forge, Tn off Wears Valley Road. Off the beaten path, this gravel road will take you up the mountain (don't worry, the steepest part is paved) to a beautiful meadow. Convenient to the tourist attractions of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, a short drive to Smoky Mountain National Park but secluded enough that you can here a car driving in from a mile away.

PAYMENT:
All payments are due in full at time of booking. Payments are made through VRBO's Homeaway Payments. Homeaway automatically puts a hold on those funds. If we are forced to decline your reservation for any reason, the hold on your funds will take 5 to 7 business days to release. This is VRBO's Homeaway Payments policy. We have no control over this and do not even see your credit card information.

Very Relaxing Weekend
Such a wonderful and peaceful long weekend! After getting used to the drive up and down to the cabin, the place was like a piece of Heaven. The weather was a bit cool but it didn't stop us from sitting on the porch and enjoying the quiet and being able to reflect. Our dog enjoyed roaming the area and we didn't have to worry about him. The cabin, itself, was clean and inviting. At night we lit a fire, had wine and read. Slowing down from the real world is what we needed! We hiked, went to the antique shops and just drove to take in the sites. This was the 3rd time we visited Tennessee staying at other places but we would definitely consider coming back to Pioneer Meadow!

New Years Vacation
Our adult family of five rang in the new year in the mountains this year. This property was very spacious, cozy and clean. We were also able to bring along our dog which stayed kenneled during the day. You’re only 4.5 miles from Pigeon Forge but you feel as though you are miles away in this meadow. We had no problems with the roads making it up to the cabin although I recommend a utility vehicle. Everything was provided that we needed. Bring paper towels! The only con was it was a little noisy at times during the night. Squirrels running around in the attic but this would definitely not keep me from returning. We will be back again!

Peaceful
It was a nice get away and close to sites and restaurants. Road up 1 st time was a bit scary but no problem after that. Squirrel were very noisy at night. Kept us awake. But loved the porch’s and the history of the cabin.
