We had a great time with the family in a warm house with. Our hosts were super kind and attentive. The pool and the fireplace are just wow! Thank you for everything!
The pictures don’t do the house justice! Beautiful house with lots of space. Very clean and stocked with anything and everything we could have needed. Tons to do for the kids and adults. 10/10 would recommend!
What brought us to Lake George was a softball tournament my daughter played in. We made it an extended vacation and stayed here. It was very spacious and had everything we needed. The outdoor fire pit, game room and pool were a huge hit for the kids!
The property was extremely clean and as described.
The outdoor area was fantastic and fully available for our private enjoyment. It has everything you need for a spectacular getaway.
The host was very gracious and helpful, he directed us to a nearby suitable place of worship which was necessary for us, and we didn't know of its existence.
We would definitely consider coming back to Richard's place!

Family friendly, clean, cozy and close to town
So glad we found this spot! Richard was super friendly and hospitable. The house was very clean, cozy and fit our family of ten comfortably. Our kids had a great time at the pool and also enjoyed roasting marshmallows by the fire at night. Supermarkets and other shops were only a few minutes away and Lake George Village was about 25-30 minutes away but an easy and beautiful drive. Would definitely come back here!!! Thank you for having us Richard!!!
The place & Host was fine. We left early because we pick the wrong day to travel, in bad weather. The town also lost reception & power after we arrived, plus no wifi. The town had a storm and we got screwed on our vacation. Won't ever return.
The family is working hard to relearn the business. The host was attentive to our needs and she greeted us along with saying goodbye. They purchased an AC due to the humidity and heat. Unfortunately the pump on the pool had broken and was being replaced. There was an excessive amount of chemicals due to them trying to get it working and clear. Additionally there is no working phone or reception in the event of an emergency. Overall, our family enjoyed our stay and the host provided a lot of extras including bug spray, wood, paper products, kitchen necessities , garbage bags etc.

Nice Property, Invasive Host – Not the ‘Freedom’ Vrbo Promises
Our experience with this Vrbo rental was far from the “freedom of host” that Vrbo advertises. While the property itself was as described and visually appealing, the host, Vicki, was intrusive and made our stay unnecessarily stressful. Before arrival, I specifically asked her not to give us a tour, yet she still stopped by, disregarding our preference. Some guests might appreciate that, but we had spoken beforehand, and she ignored it. Three nights before check-in, I called to request early check-in, and instead of a simple yes or no, she told me they might have overbooked, causing unnecessary panic. She later apologized and approved our request, but the situation was avoidable. Unlike other Vrbo rentals, this one had no check-in or check-out instructions, forcing us to reach out for basic information.During our stay, an injury and a winter storm led us to shelter three extra people for safety reasons. Rather than ask what happened, Vicki showed up unannounced and treated us like we didn’t belong. Check-out was 10 AM, but she arrived at 8:30 AM, pointed at me, and rudely told me never to book again because she saw extra cars. I greeted her politely and even asked for check-out instructions, which were never provided, yet she was hostile. The house was nice, but the host’s behavior completely ruined the experience. If you value privacy and respect, look elsewhere.
Everything was exactly as stated in the ad. House was clean, Richard supplied us with coffee and fresh creamer there was also sugar and sweetener. Richard also supplied disposable dinner ware in case we didn't feel like doing dishes. Richard checked on us the next morning to see if everything was okay and if we needed anything. There was also a fire pit Richard had a fire ready for us to start and plenty of wood for our use. Overall we had a very pleasant experience.
We had a fantastic time! House was very clean and cozy and had everything you could need. Richard greeted us on arrival and showed us where everything was, as well as letting us know all the things going on in town as well as tips for other things to do in the area. The pool and fire pit was great, so many games for the kids. The sound of the running Creek was serene. We had a wonderful week!

Watch out for extra fees
Everything about the site was as reviewwed and advertised. It's a pretty setting and the house was nice. The problem with this property is that I was charged fees by the owner for amenities (pool and hot tub). These fees were not noted in the rental contract. The owner requested cash for these fees at check-in. I've been advised to file in small claims court as this is illegal.Vrbo was not helpful at all. I recommend. Read up on reviews on vrbo, not here but look at consumer protection sites like the better business bureau - those are the sites which warn vulnerable consumers. Vrbo has gone way downhill since joining expedia and after 10 years of renting from them I am done.
amazing get away with breathtaking surroundings. great place to disconnect from the craziness of life and reconnect with family and friends. lots of family games on the property to engage the whole gang. very clean: everything to cook and gill that you need! outside covered patio family favorite for meals. This is by far our families favorite VRBO ever!
This was an enjoyable stay, it feels very out of the way the first time you find it, but easy to get to things once you get your bearings. Big, roomy house made the stay comfortable.
Richard was A+ with communication and made sure we were well informed and made it easy to contact him if we needed anything at all. We would stay here again.

Roomy House
Richard the owner was very nice. His house was clean and roomy. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had nice appliances , dishes , pots and pans. Richard was very accommodating as far as check in and check out.
It was not quite as advertised as the Hot Tub is not able to be used in the winter months ,this was unfortunate as that was one of the reasons we booked it ....
We went up for a relaxing weekend and it was delivered! We enjoyed the house, the pool, the large fire pit, and the surprisingly bug free back yard. Rich was very nice and checked in to make sure we were doing well. Definitely recommend if a relaxing stay is needed!
We had a great time staying in this VERY quiet location. The house has EVERYTHING you need- dishes, soaps, towels, flashlights... etc. Richard gave us a gift certificate to the little store/Cafe down the street and we got a really nice discount on our breakfast. The Inn (bar) down the street was within walking distance and the staff was friendly. Wifi was strong and worked perfectly when we had to use it for making calls (no cell reception). Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate so we couldn't use the outdoor spaces as much as we would've liked but everything was in ready to use condition and it was clean.

Thanks so much for the review and I hope to see you again. Thanks Richard
We were a group of 8 and had more than enough room. The photos really do not do the place justice. The listing is accurate with the number of rooms & beds. Everything was clean and spotless when we arrived. The bathrooms were clean and everything worked. Plenty of towels and closet space to store luggage. Richard was a wonderful host, had us call when we were arriving so he could direct us a better way than the GPS (take his advice — half the group didn’t and ended up on a long windy road) and stopped by a few times to make sure we were all set. The house has everything you need — pool with a lounging area, hot tub, covered tent for outdoor seating, a HUGE firepit, grill & grilling accessories, volleyball/badminton set up, a closet full of outdoor games like cornhole, sports balls, and more. The kitchen was wiped clean before we arrived but had everything you’d need to cook and even bake (just bring the ingredients). One day of our stay got totally rained out but we were plenty entertained with everything Richard had at his accommodation. It felt like the best combination of summer camp and the privacy of your own home. We shared photos with our friends & family and they were all blown away by how nice it was — they even asked if they could have the property information for their own vacations. 30 minute drive to Lake George Village wasn’t too bad, and there’s plenty of parking in the village and at the house for large groups. There is a bar within walking distance, but unfortunately due to Covid it was closed. I highly recommend and am definitely keeping it bookmarked for the future!

Thanks Synella it was a wonderful review. I appreciate you taking the time to give such detail. I hope to see all or any of you again in the future. The rates are lower after Labor Day but there are still many things to enjoy even in the winter. Thanks Much Richard
When we first arrived Richard was there to great us and show us around and make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. From coffee and creamer to wood and kindling for the fire. Plenty of towels for our 2 family's equalling 9 people for showers and the pool. He made sure to have the hot tub filled with fresh water hot and ready for us 4 adults to relax in after along day exploring with the kids. The kids spent hours in the pool splashing around and having loads of fun and enough floats for everyone. The outside fire pit is absolutely beautiful with the creek running behind it and plenty of seating for everyone. The kids enjoyed the outside toys he has available. Overall our stay was wonderful, relaxing and worry free. We will definitely be back for future fun.

Richard is a super friendly and accommodating host. House and property are well maintained and is fully stocked with clean towels, linens and every kitchen accessory needed cook for an army. He even provided coffee and creamer which I thought was a nice touch. The location is great - very close to Gore, as well as some great Adirondack hiking. Will definitely look to book this house again for future ski trips. Thanks Richard!

This was one of the most relaxing vacations we have had!
The owner was very polite and had everything ready when we arrived. He walked us through the house and backyard and showed us where everything was. He had coffee, sugar, and creamer available for early morning risers who like coffee first thing!
The house was homey and a nice backyard with a fire pit, grill, hot tub, and screen house that we were able to enjoy.
This is definitely a place we will visit again!

I am the owner. I just remodeled and turned this house into a vacation home because of its unique location. It is close to many things for vacationers an still all the amenities within walking distance. I live next door. with my faience. I moved here in 1999 from CT. I first started visiting Stony Creek in 1966 and have been coming back ever since. My faience is born and grew up in the area. Between the two of us we can recommend all the wright places to go and introduce you to the locals.
Why they chose this property
It is in a quiet peaceful town with all you need at home within walking distance and adjacent to all the activities you need on vacation. Come in the fall and enjoy the cool nights, the foliage, and especially the great fire pit. HAS INGROUND SWIMMING POOL, HOT TUB.
