Tucked away in the woods on a gentle hill, this private multi-level home offers a peaceful retreat with plenty of space to spread out and relax. The main living area is located on the second floor and features a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room with a tv, dining space, a full bathroom with laundry, and two bedrooms—one with a queen bed-tv and one with a twin. Step out onto the second-floor deck to enjoy the quiet forest surroundings.

The first floor offers an additional living room with a tv, a full bathroom, and a third bedroom- tv with a queen bed—perfect for extra privacy or multi-family stays. The third-floor loft adds even more flexibility with a twin trundle daybed, ideal for extra guests.

Outdoor living is just as inviting, with two decks (one at the entry level and one off the main living space) and a private backyard fire pit for evenings under the stars. Please note, the home is situated on a hill and requires walking up steps to access the house, as well as stairs to reach the main living level.

Water access is conveniently located just across the camp road on an additional private property, featuring a dock for water entry, relaxing, and enjoying the water and a private swim float. There is an additional fire pit. A public beach area is also nearby, offering options for swimming, Kayaks (two singles and one tandem) are available for guest use upon request, and paddleboards are available to rent—please inquire for pricing.

This home is the perfect blend of privacy, comfort, and outdoor adventure—an ideal getaway for families or groups looking to unwind in nature.

Nice quiet stay. Went fishing caught two very large bass over 14 inches and caught some smaller ones. We went in the canoe and use the 2 person kayak We rode down to the public beach/boat ramp and back.

Vacation by the water with family

This was a nice place to stay during the hot days of July when we were there. Walking distance to water! Place had plenty of room for us and our dog. Everything we needed in the kitchen, plus fire pits and a nice dock. Host was super communicative and helpful.

Peaceful getaway

The cabin was a nice little getaway from daily life. The hosts were easy to contact and super nice, and gave a great place to meet up with some old friends to catch up. Weather sitting at one of the firepits, or hanging out by the dock. It was the perfect mix of remote and yet still within a 15 minute drive from a few stores in case you need anything. There are a few nice hiking trails near by, including a short one with a great view at French Mountain. The neighborhood was also super friendly, all the neighbors waved and said hello. Definitely would book again.

A beautiful peaceful pond, enjoyed hearing the birds and the loons. Convenient store nearby, and good hikes at Mt. Blue. Also Farmington has lots of activities.

Great quiet location

Property is very well maintained. The walk to the dock was a little longer than I anticipated, but not terrible. It was so lovely being able to bring our dogs to enjoy vacation with us. Check out instructions were a lot, but Stephanie was great with communication. Overall, a wonderful family vacation stay!

Description and pictures were deceiving. It had bugs and cobwebs in the windows and food in the sink drain and the countertop. One very small, old air conditioner for the whole house. The plastic window slider was broken and had a water stained piece of cardboard in the window.Broken microwave frame.Bed mattresses were thin and old and looked very uncomfortable and the bedding was mismatched and sloppy. The owner made excuses but did refund my money. We did not stay and had to find other accommodations. I would not recommend this place and am upset that your company doesn’t review the places you post on your site . Very dissatisfied and was very upset.

Amazing Labor Day Retreat!

I could not recommend staying here more! If you are looking for some peace and quiet and a place to reset, this property is definitely the place to go and recharge! The house is so lovely and impeccably clean. The dock and lake were such a treat and where my sister and I spent most of our days enjoying the kayaks and swimming and taking in the gorgeous views of the lake and the trees. We had such a great time using the outdoor grill and eating al fresco. I would highly suggest booking this place if you have a chance!

Hurricane Lee!!!

The property listing could use some updating, as the house is not lakefront, nor does it have mountain views. That being said, the house was impeccably clean and warm and welcoming! Stephanie and Mike were very gracious hosts throughout our bout with hurricane Lee when we lost power less than 12 hours into our stay, offering refund, generator, etc…whatever we needed. We managed to make coffee and cinnamon rolls on the gas grill the next morning (thank god!!) and just played games by flashlight/candlelight. Would definitely return again.

Family vacation

The host was wonderful! Great communication and very friendly. Stephanie checked in to make sure we had what we needed. Walmart is 16 minutes away as well as Dunks. Have you tried the new Mocha Wipped coffee? Yum. Sand Pond is just that, a pond. Dont let the name fool you! No sand at the bottom only muck. I suggest water shoes or floaties. Be sure to admire the Loons from a distance or ask Stephanie to use the kayaks! The property offered ideal privacy and room for our dogs to play. The water is a bit of a walk down the rocky driveway. If you have elderly with you, you may want to drive them up and down. Lots of towels and dishes to use. Dishwasher, TVs, AC and washer/dryer all worked properly. Some of the lights didnt work but plenty of natural light. Enjoy your stay!!! w

Family get together

The setup is great! In law type living downstairs with bathroom living room bedroom with doors out to the lower deck while my son and his 4 teens had the upstairs and the loft. The loft has too twins for sleeping and the listing doesn’t mention air conditioning but they had units available! Which was a life saver on this scorching weekend. We brought rafts for floating in the pond, which is very shallow (granddaughter walked almost all the way out to the floating dock) the bottom is clay and muck but seemed very clean (no leaches that we saw). We brought our dogs who had a blast running free and chasing squirrels 😁glad they never caught one. Down by the dock is a set of loons that have nested to the left. They seemed ok with us hanging out but they watched us like hawks. So beautiful! My only wish would be to have the beds upgraded to queens lol only because a full seems small when you are use to a king 😁 we will book again next year.

Labor Day weekend

Communication was good and the lake was beautiful but however mountain and lake views were nonexistent from home and it looked like no one has been there to maintain the property in a long time. We pre requested the use of the kayaks and canoes as suggested but they seem like they have not been used all summer full of leaves and spiders 🙅‍♀️ Overall we are an easy family and made the best of our stay and happy we had this time together. I am thankful for approval for an earlier arrival and later departure with a $50.00 charge but we ended up leaving minutes later after the check out time because we couldn’t get the washer to go on spin cycle, so we messaged Stephanie letting her know that we left earlier than expected and left our towels and sheets in the washer. To summarize I just got to meet Mike, Stephanie’s husband and not Stephanie and he was very nice and helpful and even brought back floats for us and filled up the empty propane tanks that were left empty. Also, thank you for the wine you left on the table.

Thank you for your appreciation of the early arrival and late departure. The property has been full all summer and the property maintaned on a weekly basis. Possibly due the all the rain the property did not look its best . Again the kayaks are also used weekly and posssibly due to the all the rain Maine has experienced recently were not in their best condition, We would have taken care that for you had we been notified. When the washer was checked it was in working order and the towels had been run through the spin cycle. Glad you enjoyed your Wine.

The house and property is very falsely advertised, no mountain views or water views. The water is down a long very steep hill driveway around a couple corners and across the street and then down a path and down another steep hill to the water. Kayaks and cables were very dirty, filled with spiders, acorns and dirt. There were not enough kayak paddles. The kitchen is on the 2nd floor upstairs. The beds were all unmade and had mouse POOP all over them, I took pictures of EVERYTHING. The outdoor chairs were unsafe, 2 of them up at the house were ripped, the wooden ones down by the water are very old and wobbly. There were nails sticking up on the deck, rotted boards on both decks. The owner took a while to respond at times and seemed rude and did not make our stay better. She did offer a refund if we chose to leave but we couldn't find any other rentals around the same price and dates last minute. Bring your own sheets and blankets if you don't want to have to get up extra early to do laundry before 10am checkout. Owner tried to kick us out halfway through our week stay, told me she had guests and a cleaner arriving that day and I told her I don't think so, we paid for the 14th-21st. I honestly can't think of one good thing to say about this property. Will never rent this one again.

Unfortunately not all houses match every personality. I did offer a refund and was turned down- I Did Not Try to Evict I did make mistake on their departure date- I also hv photos of a clean home before their arrival and will refer to other reviews of which are quite different and true. I never claim a water view and am quite honest about the short walk to the water as well as the house being IN the mountains. The pictures also show the layout of the house. This travel was quit inquisitive even before her arrival . I answered all her questions in a reasonable time frame and did what I could - sending up our maintenance crew to power wash the kayaks - we gave her extras which was why there was a paddle shortage. Again I tried to fix every true issue in my control - I even referred her to a comfort inn that was probably a better fit for this traveler with a Full refund but they refused

It started w/ a hiccup with checking in, but with some proactive actions on our part prior, it was fixed within an hour. (We were given a refund for the inconvenience). Based on previous reviews it was never an issue before. Outside the house photos could be updated with recent tree growth. The house is on a hill, but our dog who has mobility issues could assess the "main" 2nd floor by walking through the yard to the back door. The stairs from the lower level were not an issue for us, but it could be an issue with children or those with mobility issues. The stairs to the loft are like a ladder, but my kids were comfortable using them (teens). Loft--- 3 mattresses, lights, plugs, and suitable for kids with independence . Main Floor- Bunk bed- sturdy but older mattresses, Queen bed w/TV & doors to the back yard, Kitchen, Living room (TV, woodstove), Dinette, and upper deck- with grill, table, and chairs. The living room furniture is much like a college dorm common area sturdy but not super comfy. Lower level: Entry point with code: Living room area with TV, Full bath, Queen Bed with TV. The furniture in the living room is much like you would have at your own home. Direct TV but no WiFi provided due to reception in this location. You get about 2 bars on your cell phone and can use a hot spot to stream video without issue (we have ATT and brought our Apple TV) Driveway- is a hill so take the car to the pond! We are definitely considering going back!

Great tucked-Away Cabin in Maine

Clean comfortable "mountainside" property in Maine. Cozy woodstove and firepit for the cold nights, plenty of room, spacious kitchen and the convenience of a washer and dryer. Host was flexible and accommodating for check in and check out. Will return.

Private and quiet

House was very clean & well equipped. Nice private location and good waterfront/dock. The only drawback was many stairs in the home which may be difficult for some and a fairly long walk down to the water. Dock is nice, but water was very shallow this year so getting into the water was tricky. Pond was nice for Kayaking and fishing. Good fire pit at house and also one at the water.
