This was an excellent property to stay at. The location is on point for Sturgis and Mount Rushmore. Anything that we could think of to purchase for cooking was on-site. The owner really make it a home away from home. Take the cell phones away and have family time. Great place to visit with more than Sturgis to see. Highly recommend utilizing this location for your getaway to South Dakota.
Each bedroom has its own bedroom with queen bed, a nice size closet and full bathroom, with the living room and kitchen area in between. Awesome view from 3rd floor on the outdoor deck. Every morning and night got to watch a buck and a doe come up to the grass to eat. Absolutely amazing night view. Very clean. Very equipped with necessities. Already booked again for next year. So ready to stay there again. 5 star ⭐️ Love this place!!!
I absolutely loved Bruce's place. I was big, beautiful and very clean. I would recommend this place. The only drawback that I can think of that it was 3 stories and climbing with 75 lbs on you is a bit of a workout. Besides that, I would recommend the place.
PS Bring your coffee, cream, and sugar. He has two types of coffee makers, a Keurig and standard coffee maker.
We did a last minute road trip after our vacation was canceled. Bruce was very accommodating. The property is very clean and as described
It is only a few miles from Deadwood and a little over an hour drive from Mt Rushmore and other tourist places, which seemed about par for the area. The drive through the Black Hills was beautiful
If I have any complaint, it would be there is no secure internet and only 4 local over air tv channels. Not a big deal but would’ve been nice after a long day of sight seeing
I would recommend this property
The condo was very clean when we arrived. The four of us appreciated the split bedrooms and bathrooms. Both were very spacious and clean. The beds were softer than ours at home but that is a personal preference. We chose this location because it was centrally located to the attractions we wanted to see. We wished there was an elevator but that again is because of our ages. All in all it was a great getaway and we had a wonderful time.
Great place for two couples - separate bedrooms and bathrooms provided privacy. The shared living room and kitchen area were perfect for visiting and preparing meals. Beds were comfortable. No frills but met our needs perfectly for a weekend getaway in the hills.
Loved the area. Never enough time to visit. Relax etc. the condo was clean but had a plug in and closet scent so strong it was nauseated. The local restaurant and bar had excellent cheeseburger basket just the right size and price. Stores closed early. Though. We enjoyed no mosquitoes. Warm weather
The location was great, we could walk anywhere in Lead and drive through the Black Hills. I just wished I had brought a blow dryer since there was none in the condo. My bad!
It was a great place to stay. Great view from the balcony. There is a laundry room to use but it is a pay laundry. I didn't know that at the time. The dryers didn't work very well so we used the laundromat down the street. The rental process was very easy. I definitely recommend this place.
Condo was spotless and smelled freshly cleaned. With 2 bedrooms and 2 baths it was perfect for two couples allowing privacy along with a nice common area. Unit does not have central air but does have a large window unit built into the wall in the living room. We had a little trouble with it the first day as it froze up probably from trying to cool the condo down initially. Was able to get ahold of Bruce very quickly and he responded promptly by working to replace the unit. After the initial day or so the unit worked fine and cooled the condo down to a very comfortable level. A box fan was included in the closet to move air into the bedrooms. We slept comfortably even with near record heat in Leads for one of our weeks there. The unit is on the 3rd floor which I must have missed in the listing and there is no elevator. Mattress was a little too soft for my liking but that's just a personal preference. The condo was in a great location for easy access to both Lead and Deadwood. Parking is tight and if you have a trailer be prepared to make other arrangements. Fortunately we left 24 footer with another group outside of town. We had 2 SxS's that were street legal so we toured town with them when we were not on the trails. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would absolutely use the condo again if we make another trip from Georgia.
Perfect stay, just as advertised. Property was just off the Mickelson Trail, close to everything, grocery store and restaurants a short walk away. Place was clean and quiet, just what I was looking for, will stay here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay the condo was perfect.
Bruce is a great host everything ran smooth. The Condo was clean, cozy, smelled amazing , the beds are wonderfully comfortable and it had everything we needed. We will definitely stay again .
My only hiccup with renting was code to get into condo the door wasn’t opening and trying to figure out the shower LOL. If you’re reading this then pull down on the round piece under the water spout!! Other then that Bruce the owner was a pleasure to deal with. Would definitely stay again.
Enjoyed a week at this property. Check in painless and owner responded immediately to several questions I had prior to our arrival. Location was perfect for us, five minutes or less to Deadwood yet in a small town environment with a true old fashioned main street. Walked out door of condo every evening to dine at places on main street. The coffee shop (Java Jive) across stoplight and below Ace Hardware is a "must visit"; they also have an expansive menu of american fare and this would be a good place to grab something quick for dinner if you get into town in the evening, as we did. The Condo building is in good repair, hallway carpet in building has the ski lodge carpet smell, as would be expected. The condo unit itself has obviously been recently remodeled, appears freshly painted, new carpet, everything clean, nicely decorated, and in working order. Best set of kitchen and dining ware of any condo I have stayed at. The city this condo is located in reminds me of a cross between Butte Montana and a small Colorado town. A day can be spent just walking down main to visit museum, visitors center, small arts/antiques shops, ice cream shop, and of course the open pit mine; a site to see if you have never seen one. We enjoyed our stay at this condo, great location, and offered stunning sunrises from the balcony. Would stay here again if coming to the Black Hills.
These days, you know you picked the right place when you walk in the door to that comforting smell of Lysol. This is well appointed, beds are comfy, the location is great and Bruce is easy to deal with, but most of all the place is clean. It is on the third floor with no elevator, so if stairs are a problem that could be an issue, but in general this is a great place to stay when visting the Black Hills.
Our stay here was very good. We stayed four nights and it was a great location. Bruce's condo was very clean and tighty. Had everything you needed. I would definitely stay here again.
Very short but scenic drive to Deadwood. A short and very scenic drive to spearfish canyon. Do the devil's bathtub hike and the falls. Did a day trip to custer park to see the buffalo and took needles hwy back. Make sure you stop at the Sugar Shake on way back to condo. Excellent burgers! Highly recommend doing this. Keystone and Mt Rushmore is only 40 minutes away . In all there is so much to do within a short distance and you can enjoy the history of the black hills and their quant little towns.
Enjoy your trips fellow adventures!
