We’ve stayed at a couple of dozen VRBOs over the past few years, but our Sakonnet Point hosts were far and away the friendliest and most genuinely welcoming we’ve ever encountered. We can’t wait to come back!
My husband and I were delighted to stay at Sakonnet Point. The cottage was perfect! Beautifully maintained and nicely decorated. So many fond memories of the area! We were able to have a special luncheon with my siblings in the country kitchen followed by a fabulous walk to the point! Our hosts were helpful and friendly. It was truly a memorable stay. We really hope to return to this piece of heaven!
We were looking for a vacation where we could bring our 6-year-old border collie, Annie, with us for the first time. And she had never been to the seashore. What a wonder! The house is perfect and welcoming. Everything you need at hand. The kitchen is more than complete. And Scott and Jill were so welcoming and fun. And to top it off, a short walk to the live lobster shop! We have already planned to come again next year. Annie can't wait to frolic on the beach again!
Our Host was wonderful. The house perfect for our little group!
The location was beautiful, with the beach right around the corner. The neighbors were all very friendly. Can't wait to go back! Thank you!
My partner and I were looking for a peaceful getaway - lots of reading, walking, sleeping! This was the perfect location - the house is beautiful - the location is stunning - and it is so peaceful! Jill was a superb host!
Wonderful spot. Owner lives close by and checked on us and made us feel welcome with some local recommendations. Just a perfect spot to unwind and feel truly disconnected from work.

Great Little Cottage, near spectacular beaches
This cottage is beautiful, well-equipped, and in an ideal location -- assuming you like a quiet beach community like Little Compton. The owners have refurnished and redecorated it recently (spring 2015, I believe), tastefully and stylishly. The grounds are gorgeous, too, and the house is very close to two beaches -- one a five-minute walk, and the other a five- to ten-minute bike ride away.
Speaking of bikes, Little Compton and the neighboring towns (e.g., Westport, MA) are great places for road bikers. The riding is flat and fast, and very few cars, especially once you take the scenic back roads off Route 77.
The two bedrooms and shared full bath upstairs make it best for a couple or for a family with younger kids. Plenty of room to run around outside, too. Finally, the owners are very helpful, friendly, and extremely responsive.
The house does not have air conditioning, but cross-ventilation and abundant breezes made it comfortable nonetheless, even on a hot (but not scorching) summer weekend.
