River Haven Guest House w/Hot Tub by Gruene!

Nestled under a canopy of oak trees, and located within walking distance of historic Gruene, Texas (1 mile to Gruene Hall and a half mile to the Gruene bridge on the Guadalupe River), our guest house is a two-story "home away from home" for guests desiring a romantic retreat, a gathering place for family, a refreshing spiritual retreat, or a secluded spot for work. Please note: guests treasure the quiet of our guest house and neighborhood. Therefore, we cannot accommodate events/parties.

The space
Our guest house is secluded on our property and completely fenced off. Guests appreciate the quiet, coziness and curated decor and design of each room. In the style of an historic, German Sunday House, your experience will be reminiscent of a stay at an old home with the conveniences of modern amenities and easy recreation.

Guest access
You have access to the entire guest house if you book the whole house, as well as the fenced yard and driveway.

Expect deer and kitties freely roaming the property and kitties wandering up to greet you!

Parking: Two parking spaces provided but we can provide additional parking if prior arrangements are made.

Amazing family get-away

Our experience was amazing. Quiet and peaceful yet my family ( including 2 teen boys) were able to toss a football and be boys. The location was fabulous, the guest house incredible, but the owners Greg and Kathleen went out of their way to make our mini vacation spectacular! Just overall awesome time. Highly recommend!!

I love the Gruene area, my cousin was getting married & we had a full weekend of events. this was the perfect little spot to everything going on. the space was perfect & the host was very nice. Andy the cat was so lovable. I would love to stay here again when we visit.

Charming

It's one of my favorite rentals so far. The home is incredibly charming. I loved its decor, and it smelled amazing. The location is also a plus; it was close to everything on our itinerary. There were also lots of deer around. The property owners were very welcoming and attentive. I highly recommend this place.

Perfect For Our Group

We loved this house, it was away from the busy area of Gruene itself, but close enough to be able to run back really quick and clean up for the concert at Gruene Hall.It was me, wife and two teenage daughters on this trip and we rented the whole house. The upstairs was great for the kids to have their own space and gave us the privacy downstairs.Would highly recommend this house to any of our friends.

Lovely winter trip

We wanted to try Gruene in the winter, thinking there would be less people......that didn't happen but we had a lovely time anyway. We rented both units and they were just like they look in the pictures. Not huge but plenty of room for us. Both places were spotless, the linens were top notch, the beds were very comfortable and there were lots of extra touches that made us feel very special.

Five longtime friends for yearly girls trip perfect place that accommodated us all with plenty of room. Detail to amenities was appreciated. Had all that was needed. Hill Country Get away

We loved this little cottage - it was a perfect “country” experience filled with lots of wildlife, short distance to river, restaurants and when needed, to the major roadways to get you where you need to go fast. Greg and Kathleen are delightful hosts and were available to help us when our door code messed up after hours one evening. I’d give this property 5 stars!

Cool, Calm and Quiet

What a wonderful place to stay! It was so peaceful and quiet at the River Haven Guest House. I didn't get the chance to visit with Kathleen, but I met Greg in person and we had a great visit. The rental is spacious but cozy. It was comfortable and clean. My whole family loved our stay and we all want to stay again. And, Andy the cat was a great host as well. We all felt at home the minute we unlocked the door. The rental was easy to find and close to our destinations. Check-in was easy. It was very clean and the linens and towels were soft! Definitely a great stay and worth the money. We loved watching the deer. Thank you for a wonderful home away from home. Tacy Ellis

Great for family!

We have two small children and we loved the location. We let them loose to chase deer in the yard and they were out for hours. Additionally, it was nice to be able to close the stairwell first floor door on the property and create separate entrances for upstairs and downstairs when needed. If you have a crowd, you CAN share the space...but you don't always HAVE to. Greg and Kathleen were great! The human touches that they put into their property were noticed and welcome. Plus, it was nice to actually got to converse with our hosts. Most importantly -- thanks for providing lots of K-cups for tired parents. The kids slept in the car on the way home...they are up and ready again. A+++ loved it here. Will stay again next time we are in town. Mike

Peaceful cottage in the trees

This cottage was perfect for a weekend getaway. Close to plenty of things to do but far enough to enjoy the quiet evenings. The decor was so welcoming and the beds super comfy. Thanks to Greg and Kathleen for all the special touches and memories. We will be back!

River haven

This place is beautiful. I thought I was renting a place in walking distance to town....this turned out to not be an issue. The house is very close to downtown. Very clean owners very helpful and accommodating as well as friendly. We did not have to purchase any extra household items such as toilet paper trash bags etc... would highly recommend

San Marcos Outlet Shopping is a 20 minute drive away and downtown New Braunfels is 11 minutes away, and you will find abundant night life, antiquing and shopping there, also.
