About this property
Bunker Bayhouse Beachfront Retreat next to Resort
Surrender to the beauty of Bunker Bay at this exceptional home on one of WA’s most pristine beaches. Architect-designed and tucked within a small gated enclave behind the dunes, it offers both seclusion and style. Step outside and follow your private boardwalk straight to the crystal clear waters. Spend the day swimming, paddling in the provided kayaks, or boogie boarding in the gentle waves. One end of the beach offers toddler-friendly rock pools, while the other has two powerful surf breaks. Just 50 metres from the sand, it’s perfectly positioned for barefoot morning strolls and long lunches by the ocean, with full access to the neighbouring Pullman Resort’s premium facilities—including a year-round heated 25-metre pool, twin tennis courts (with racquets provided and balls available from the resort), a gym, and bar and dining options. Just a two-minute stroll along the shore, or a short wander through the bush path, takes you to Ilma Beach House—an award-winning, Mediterranean-inspired spot for dining or a morning coffee with panoramic water views. Bunker Bay sits at the end of a peninsula beneath the Cape Naturaliste lighthouse, close to the Dunsborough town centre.
Inside, a light-filled living area features a curved ceiling and wraparound windows that frame the surrounding trees, anchored by a wood fire for cooler nights. The kitchen comes fully equipped with modern appliances and a Nespresso machine—ideal for morning coffee before a beach day. This central space flows into a covered outdoor dining area and open verandah overlooking a private paperbark wetland reserve, home to native wildlife including quendas, ringtail possums, kangaroos, frogs, ducks, and birds.
The house is designed with groups in mind, offering three ensuite king bedrooms, each opening onto its own private courtyard. A fourth bathroom with laundry facilities downstairs and a spacious family king bedroom upstairs provide additional flexibility and comfort.
Air conditioning and ceiling fans in all bedrooms and the living area ensure ultimate comfort. A secure double garage and additional driveway parking for up to four vehicles provide added convenience. During your stay, you and your group will have the entire house to yourselves with access to shared resort facilities. Please make yourselves at home!
Bunker Bay sits at the end of a peninsula beneath the Cape Naturaliste lighthouse. Apart from the resort and a small cluster of holiday homes, its neighbours include Eagle Bay Brewery, Wise Winery, Meelup Farmhouse, and Eagle Bay Olives. Just ten minutes’ drive through jarrah forest and farmland lies the town of Dunsborough.
A short stroll from the property brings you to the dunes, where relaxed beachfront dining combines fresh, locally sourced ingredients with stunning ocean views. Within the Pullman Resort, Other Side of the Moon offers modern Australian dishes showcasing seasonal produce against a backdrop of sweeping coastal vistas. In nearby Dunsborough, standout dining includes Blue Manna Bistro for premium seafood, Yarri Restaurant + Bar for native flavours, Occy’s for casual fare, and Palmer Wines for vineyard fine dining.
The bay itself is spectacular—a broad, north-facing sweep of beach backed by bush, with only a few houses discreetly peeking over the trees. It’s the last sheltered bay beyond Eagle Bay before the coastline turns rugged, with west-facing beaches and dramatic cliffs. Just five minutes away by car, or a rewarding hike along coastal trails, you’ll find the famous Sugarloaf Rock and the start of the Cape to Cape Walk—keep an eye out for migrating whales in season.

This property is perfect for three couples (each with their own ensuite) plus an upstairs family room and extra bath. Every convenience is provided and literally one house from the beach. Loved the frog chorus.

Thank you for your lovely review! We’re so glad you enjoyed the layout, amenities, and the amazing proximity to the beach. We’d love to welcome you back again soon. Teresa was an excellent guest. Clean, tidy, and respected the property. We would highly recommend to other hosts.
We had a great long weekend here as a group of friends, staying for a friends wedding. The location is perfect and the house is great (only thing missing is a first aid kit which would have come in handy..)
Will hopefully be back.
This property is impressive the location is fantastic, 2 min walk to the beach and 15-minute walk to the restaurant at Pullman Resort, we have visited Dunsbrough many times but we have never been to this part of Dunsborough and found it so peaceful and serene, property was immaculate and loved the louvre windows. We had visitors from the local wildlife quenda came to visit us every morning which we loved thanks for allowing us to stay in this beautiful part of Western Australia
very nice large comfortable house. Easy access to the house and 3 minutes to the beautiful beach. everything in the house you would need initially and a quick drive to town for the rest. comfortable beds wide open living area for everyone to sit around and enjoy each others company. a great 4 days.
Amazing customer service, very friendly and efficient staff that will go above and beyond for you. Will be using again in the future. We stayed at Bunker Bayhouse, amazing property, well looked after we loved it! Thanks for our recent stay guys :)
Perfect location for a family reunion. The accommodation and location are superb. The house is very well stocked and had absolutely everything we needed. It is a beautiful holiday home in stunning surrounds with the beach just across the road. The only downside was that nobody could give us a wifi password.
My friends and I spent 4 magical days at this beautiful house. It was spacious, warm, comfortable, with plenty of space and every amenity. The outdoor area is lovely. It is a one minute walk to the beach where we watched the sunrise over the water! A rare treat in WA. We walked the first day of the Cape to Cape, ate good food and read our books. Bliss!!!!

This is a lovely property nestled into the hillside just a stone's throw from the most gorgeous stretch of beach you'll ever see. The house itself is modern, open plan and spacious with great amenities and a giant sheltered deck out back. We were five adults, a toddler and a baby and it was superb.
Had an amazing 4 days at this property. There were 9 adults and 2 children and it was perfect. A very well designed home with ensuites to 3 bathrooms and a separate bathroom/laundry downstairs. Kitchen/living area very spacious and a lovely deck outside with generous seating.
Everything we required was supplied. We would definitely stay again. Five stars from us.
Uniquely set amongst paperbark trees and minutes from the beach, Bunker Bayhouse was the perfect host for our midwinter escape with friends. Thoughtfully designed into living, sleeping, entertaining zones and well equiped, there really wasn't anything we could want for.
The accommodation was excellent perfect for needs, great location short 5 minute walk to the beach and beachside cafe, and to Pullman resort where you could have a great meal or drinks and access to fabulous spa. The location was also perfect for access to many other great attractions! 😊
We had a party of eleven visit Bunker Bay for our daughter's wedding. The wedding was perfect as was our accommodation in the Bunker Bayhouse. The house was quite large and really well laid out for a large party with all the necessary conveniences. The location was superb, with easy access to the beach less than 100m away. All-up, a great house in a great location. Would definitely stay again.
Had a wonderful stay. The property is perfect for multiple families wanting to stay in the same house. Located walking distance from Bunker Bay which is the perfect beach for young children. Having the pool facilities at the hotel is great as there was no need to worry about the children. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would consider staying here again.
House was perfect for 3 couples - 3 large bedrooms with ensuites and large indoor and outdoor entertainment areas.
Great location - 2 mins walk from stunning Bunker Bay.

Great Holiday House
We really enjoyed our stay and loved the layout of the house. A week in mid winter was heaven with the fireplace and plenty of wood!! A dryer could have been useful particularly with wet weather but the house has everything and we will def consider coming back again!!
