Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time at Hix Lake. The kids loved the fishing boat, paddle boat, kayaks, and swim dock. Spent all of our time at the water with an occasional meal in Camdenton. We are already looking at coming back in the fall! Cabin was also perfect for our family of 5. You can’t go wrong choosing this cabin!

Absolute paradise

We had the best week at this heavenly hideaway. This place is peace and quiet personified. Fishing on the lake was amazing, and we enjoyed every aspect of our stay. Cindy and Johnny were wonderful hosts which made our experience all the better. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful stay! So peaceful and secluded. Enjoyed the paddle boat, the hot tub, the outdoor shower, and the cabin and surrounding area was beautiful. Would recommend for those looking to get away from it all!

Our trip was elevated to a new level because of this property. We came to Lake of Ozarks for a baseball tournament and this property was 7 minutes away. It was absolutely serene and peaceful. Everything was laid out perfectly and created with love. Our family enjoyed it so much we have spoken about coming back again. Don't pass this property up. It is a gem!

Best Stay EVER!!

Where to begin?? I can’t say enough about this property. Cindy and Johnny are the most hospitable hosts EVER!! They really think of the guest experience from start to finish. They have s’mores stuff for the late night camp fires, charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill, backup battery for the sundolphin so you don’t stop the fun and much more. This is our second stay with them and again it wasn’t a long enough stay and it won’t be our last. We fished, kayaked, boated and relaxed!! You don’t have to leave the cabin for anything. Let’s also not forget the great meats they offer for an extra cost. Some of the best beef I’ve had in my life. Our kids and ourselves can’t wait for our next visit!!

This is our 3rd stay at this VRBO and it was just as incredible as the first time! So clean and well stocked....absolutely beautiful cabin and setting. Comfy bed, wonderful outdoor shower and close to Camdenton, bars, restaurants and antique shops. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic Relaxing Stay

This was our 2nd stay at this cabin and we fully enjoyed our stay! It is the most relaxing location and so far away from the hum of daily life. From toasting marshmallows in the fire pit to watching the sunset in the hot tub, we could not be happier with our stay. Our 4-year-old loves the cabin, exploring the area, and seeing the fish in the lake. Just a great place!

This was our happy place. Private stocked pond great for fishing, very clean cabin, comfortable bed...everything you need for a relaxing getaway to unwind and leave your troubles behind. We'll definitely be back!

Cabin was exactly as described. Very secluded and private. Had a great time fishing and sitting on porch watching the wildlife. Just a short drive to town if you need anything or to Ha Ha Tonka State Park for an excellent hike. We would definitely visit here again.

Best Bachelor Trip

We stayed here for a bachelor trip and it was amazing. The stay was very relaxing and peaceful. We spent the days fishing and hanging out by the lake while watching all the wildlife. We caught enough fish to make everyone happy. The cabin is very secluded but also close enough to the ozarks that we were able to go golfing and have a night out. Everything about this place was better than advertised and the steaks were amazing. We will definitely be back!!

Idyllic

This cabin is a wonderfully serene getaway. Beautiful landscape, and porch made for reading and relaxing. Used the hot tub nightly and took several long soaks in the inside tub with a good book. Hosts are wonderful and provided s’more fixings for the firepit. I would return n a minute, we had such a great time.

Extended weekend getaway

My wife and I stayed for an extended weekend arriving Friday evening and leaving Monday morning. Everything about this getaway was amazing. Wonderful cabin, location, private lake, and so many amenities including paddle boat and small fishing boat with trolley motor. The extras such as firewood, charcoal, and all the other things you would normally have to buy were included! I would recommend this property to anyone and hope to go back in the summer!

We had one of the best vacations we've taken! The site was better than advertised. We had car trouble on the way down and were delayed in arriving. The host called us on our way to just assure us that the site was ready and if we had any questions we should call them. We enjoyed the stay and bought some steaks to take home with us. Wonderfully private and serene retreat!

My husband and I had a wonderful time unplugging at this place!! The property is so beautiful and secluded, it is a perfect place to unplug from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The owners were very kind and had the delicious hamburger meat and steaks we had bought from them ahead of time, thawing in the sink for us. They also included hamburger buns and snacks for us upon arrival! It was clean and well appointed. It was warmer when we visited, so the only shower being outdoors, was not a problem at all. The hot tub over looks the huge beautiful private pond, which we enjoyed after a day of fishing. We would definitely recommend this place and most definitely be back!

Little Slice of Heaven

My husband and I and our 21-year-old daughter came for a weekend getaway. It was the perfect place to do so. Off the beaten path, but easy to get to. The house was immaculate with every small detail just right. They had wood and lighter fluid, and charcoal. They even had a nice gift basket waiting for us so we could make s'mores. The hot tub was brand new and ultra clean. The boat, paddle boat and kayaks were so fun. LED lights on the porch in the evening. Waterfall nearby. Everything was just perfect! Johnny and Cindy couldn't have been nicer as well! We will definitely be back!

A perfect cabin getaway

My 15 year old son, 12 year old daughter and I stayed at this property for 5 days. I was a little worried about my teenagers being bored but that never happened. The cabin has every amenity you could need - it is clean, comfortable and very charming. The hot tub on rainy days was really nice. The lake was fabulous! Gorgeous and secluded. Kayaks, paddle boat and a small fishing boat were all provided. We were in or on the water every day and the fishing was unbelievable. The wildlife was abundant - squirrels, chipmunks, turtles, frogs, snakes (only 1), birds, and deer. Town is close and convenient if you need it. The hosts were easy to talk to and extremely helpful. They left a s’mores package and some candy for the kids. I highly recommend this property for anyone needing a visit to the lake!

Absolute Perfection…Only Better!

This was an amazing vacation retreat. The cabin was incredible with its warm woodwork throughout and was beautifully decorated with antiques, lending to the ambiance of a true cabin in the woods. It only gets better when you step outside and take in the stunning view of the lake and secluded landscape from the big wrap-around covered porch. Although the inside is warm and inviting, most of our time was spent outside enjoying the quiet tranquility of the nature that surrounds it. The cabin is well stocked with all the modern day amenities we needed. It was EXTREMELY clean and well cared for. The beds were comfortable and each bedroom and the living room had a TV with cable access. The only thing missing was an indoor shower, however there is an awesome outdoor shower by the hot-tub, so just be sure to bring a robe! The grounds of the retreat offer hiking, fishing, boating and kayaking. The fishing was incredible. If you have little ones you want to teach to fish, this would be an awesome place to do it. Wildlife was abundant, there was even a pair of bald eagles who regularly flew over the lake looking for fish. The property managers (Cindy and Johnny) were incredibly friendly and helpful. Thank you both for an amazing stay!

Just WOW!!

I wish I didn’t have to write a review because I’d rather keep this best kept secret to ourselves. This property was beyond our expectations. The pictures online don’t do it justice. If you’re looking for peace and serenity and to disconnect this is the place for you. Cindy and Johnny were fantastic hosts. The cabin has everything you need and if they don’t then you don’t need it. Lol!! Our only regret is that we didn’t book it for longer. We fished, kayaked, paddle boated, hung out by the fire pit making s’mores (provided by Johnny and Cindy) & enjoyed the hot tub nightly. The outdoor shower was amazing in the cool mornings. It was an exhilarating way to start the day. Also, enjoyed several steaks that came from cattle raised on the farm. We even grabbed some steaks for the road to enjoy at our home!! Again, I can’t say enough!! Loved it!!
