Great Location
Needed a getaway for a family spring weekend. The new kitchen is great for cooking meals for our large family and we had great dinners in the dining room. Loved our walks to the beach. We would certainly like to visit again.

Amazing
This home on the water was perfect for our group. We enjoyed walks to the beach and wonderful meals in the dining room. The location is perfect at the end of a private road, but close to Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and Essex for shopping, dining and exploring. What a peaceful retreat for our family and friends! Look forward to returning in the summer.

We are pleased you had a ice visit. We love family, friends and guests that appreciate and treat our cherished family home with respect.
Last week our family spent a relaxing, memory filled vacation at the Old House on Griswold Point. Our host Susan Armstrong was wonderful and left no stone unturned as far as being informative and providing us with everything one might need for a perfect vacation. The home is spacious and has an “at home” feel to it. We were 10 adults and 3 small children and there was plenty of room for all of us. In big groups we enjoyed gathering in the dining room or outside at the large table overlooking the sound. In smaller groups there was the Parlor or the North Porch. The little ones loved the playroom and it was stocked with blocks, books and all sorts of toys to keep them busy. We especially enjoyed gathering to relax or fish at the beach. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot to spend a week together! The icing on the cake was that our youngest daughter got engaged at the Old House last week! Our vacation at the Old House provided us with a place to make memories that will last a lifetime.

We are so happy that you and your family could enjoy our special family home. Our grandfather's dream was that this special place would stay in the family for generations for many to enjoy. Congratulations to your daughter!
Perfect location for creating family life-long memories.
The Old House and Griswold Point was a fantastic place to spend a fun-filled and relaxing week with 13 family members, including 5 young grandchildren. We felt at home right away. We all enjoyed the house, the lawns, the beach and the rich history of the home. Kids voted it "Best house for hide-and-seek ever". Hope to return again !

We are happy that you had a fun-filled gathering with your family. Our home has been enjoyed by family and friends for generations. Thank you for being a great guest at our treasured home.
This is a truly magnificent piece of property and my family and I had an unforgettable vacation. To start, the hosts were incredibly kind, responsive, and helpful...even welcoming us with a basket of goodies on our first day. The historic home is well stocked and we wanted for absolutely nothing during our stay. But most important was the sweeping views, the beautiful beach, and the feeling of peace that overcomes you as soon as you pull on to the point. I cannot recommend the Old House highly enough...I'm crossing my fingers they will have room for us again next year!
This is a truly special, historic home with everything that you could want or need for a special occasion or family vacation. The house itself is incredibly comfortable with ample space. It has lots of interesting historic artefacts but at the same time feels like a family home. We did not want for anything during our stay, everything you could possibly need is provided. The grounds are magical & idyllic & the beach is absolutely beautiful. If you're looking for somewhere peaceful to unwind while still being close to shops, restaurants & areas of interest or activities it is ideal. The location is fabulous & you can do as much or a little as you want. The view from the house is exceptional & eating out, under the trees was a real treat.
Rob (who met us & assisted us during our stay) & Susan (who did all the initial communications & organisation) were the most amazing hosts too & could not do enough to help. They went out of their way to accommodate us & any special requests. They were a pleasure to deal with.
I cannot recommend Old House on Griswold Point highly enough.

We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at our family home. We appreciate guests who care for and respect our home.
Spent a week at this beautiful, old house with our extended family. Loved the beach and waterfront. Great swimming area for my grandchildren. We had most of our meals outside overlooking the Long Island Sound. The sunsets were spectacular too. Overall a great week for our family.
My family and I loved our stay here. It was private and spacious for my group of 16. The children (ages 1- 25) enjoyed the beach and yard as much as the adults. We played yard games, flew kites and relaxed while renewing our bond with one another. The Connecticut history was priceless. Loved it!
