This little cottage is great for small family for two couples. Traveled quickly from Spokane Washington. We chose public transportation which works best with this very central location. We also used uber to travel to Zoo and Sea world and Maritim museum. Quick, handy and cost effective. Close to food, Grocery, Drug store, and beach walking distance. Pacific beach was a hit with wagon and beach toys we walked to the beach. Wonderful time, and non-stress if you uber. Relax with no parking fees and have a margarita. Trolly, train, uber, bus. No need for car here.
This property was so close to everything (grocery, Starbucks, restaurants, the beach!), we couldn’t have asked for a better location. As others have said, parking is a little tricky on the weekends, but we were never more than 2-3 blocks away. The fire pit and hammock were a huge hit! It does get warm in the middle of the day, but the abundance of fans made it comfortable. Overall, I would seriously recommend this property to anyone wanting to be close to everything—Mission Beach, La Jolla, Coronado, Balboa park aren’t too far of a drive. Chrissy was wonderful to work with and responded quickly.
Perfect location! Talk to the Von's manager, they'll let you park in the empty lot behind the store. Close to the beach and dining. We had a comfortable stay. Can't wait to go back!
This was the perfect place to stay! It is cute, clean, and cozy. Everything is within walking distance grocery stores, restaurants, and much more! It's just a short drive to the beach which is super fun! The zoo and baseball park are short drives away too. We are looking forward to our next visit!
The house was great and just what we needed as a family. The outdoor spaces, especially the back, keep the property from ever feeling too small. No AC was a surprise but not really needed due to good weather. I'm sure that was listed, but I missed it. Also, parking can be tough, but most of the time it was fine.
Enjoyed our stay at this Pacific Beach property with easy walking access to local restaurants, shops, grocery store, and the beach (1 mile walk). Very convenient for driving to San Diego attractions as well. Really nice little place.
This house was wonderful for our family of 4 (kids aged 7 and 9). We felt safe and comfortable in this sweet little beach house.
Amenities-The beach toys and boogie boards were a huge hit at the beach (the cold March water didn’t stop us landlocked tourists). I appreciated having extra blankets in the closet for our family members that run hot/cold. Laundry on site helped us pack light.
Car- We had a rental car and parking took time but going into it with a heads up from the reviews helped. The location was only about 20 minutes away from lots of San Diego hot spots and only an 8 minute drive to the beach.
Food- Having grocery stores near by (Vons and Trader Joe’s) was very beneficial so we could stock up on food for breakfast and grilling. We ordered delivery from Sauced Pizza and it was delicious! Highly recommend as it was a crowd pleaser. We ate most meals out on the back and front patio to soak up that sweet California sunshine.
Furniture- One bed was more comfortable than the other (my husband and I rolled/sunk into the middle of the bed in the larger room). We didn’t spend much time lounging inside except for when the kids went to bed, but the living room couch was pretty uncomfortable. The chairs were better.
Overall this was a great place to call home for the week. Hope you can enjoy it too!
Our family loves San Diego. This was our first time staying in Pacific Beach. This house was perfect for our family of 4. There was everything we needed inside the house as well as every living we needed for the beach and more. The walk to the beach was easy especially with the provided wagon. We would come back!
Convenient central location with easy access to La Jolla, beaches, and bay. Parking can be a little tricky, but that comes with the area. Walking distance to good restaurants and grocery stores.
We had a great experience in this cozy beach cottage. Well stocked for days at the beach and relaxing on the patio in the evenings. The owners were super responsive and helpful. I couldn’t recommend it more!
Had such a great time staying at this house in Pacific Beach, we ended up extending our stay! It's in a great location, about a mile from the beach, and around the corner from multiple shopping centers with grocery stores, restaurants, pharmacies, etc. It's also walking distance to the main strip that's lined with bars & restaurants. It is a beach house, so it is on the smaller side but comfortable like all the houses in PB, but has a huge back yard. The beds are really comfortable and the shower has great water pressure, plus the kitchen has everything you need. The house also comes with everything you'd need for the beach, including bikes, surfboards, chairs, toys for kids. The owners were great and very easy to get in touch with, they were available for anything we'd need on our stay. I also had a car with me and never had an issue finding parking on the street, most of the time I could find a spot right in front of the house. I definitely recommend this house for anyone looking to stay near the beach, but doesn't want to be directly near the boardwalk where it can be very busy and crowded.
Great place with everything you need for Pacific Beach
The house is clean, with a modern kitchen and bathroom, two comfortable bedrooms, and within walking distance of the beach. Patio furniture was great for breakfast outside. We were glad to have the beach cruiser bikes available, and had fun biking on the path along Pacific Beach south toward Mission Bay. Grocery and other shopping is right around the corner, and there were some great restaurants nearby, including the Broken Yolk (breakfast & brunch) and the Fish Shop. The property owner is very nice and kept in touch via VRBO, making sure everything was okay. We are hoping to visit again in future!
We enjoyed staying at the house. The backyard with the hammock was a huge hit. We did have a hard time finding street parking the first night we arrived because it was around 7pm. It’s a pretty busy area. Chrissy was quick to respond when the front fence handle was broken and had it fixed the next morning. We would definitely recommend staying here. We did have 6 in our party. There was plenty of beds but the house was tight for all of us. The outdoor space made up for it! The kids loved playing in the backyard!
We stayed here for a week at the start of June 2019. Our family had a great time at the home. It was located in a great location for us to be close to everything.
The home was small but accommodating for our group of six, and was as advertised with no big surprises. Our family had hoped to use some of the bicycles listed with the home but unfortunately some were in disrepair. Other than that the home was all we had hoped for. The patios were a great way to spend the evenings relaxing.
Check in and out process went smoothly and we would recommend to anyone looking in the area.

A great stay!
The Diamond Beach Cottage was perfect! This house was in a great location, a combination of a quiet neighborhood with a ton of things to do just a mile away. The back patio was probably our favorite aspect of the house, we spent a majority of our time back there when not out and about. The house was very clean and well put together. We did not need to make any requests throughout the stay. Having the grocery store less than a block away was awesome. Chrissy could not have been more accommodating and responsive to any questions that we had. We will be back!

Great amenities and convenient location.
We loved having the bikes to ride around the area. The patio with grill was great for relaxing in the evening. It was nice having the washer and dryer, too.

Beautiful
From our first communication, Christina was excellent and understanding. The home is beautiful inside and out, and we did not lack for anything in the way of staples. The fridge contained local beers, sparkling water, and Moscato! Welcome snacks made the long flight and drive from the airport sufferable. We were in town for the passing of a family member and sought privacy with the ability to walk to the beach. The location does NOT disappoint! Restaurants abound, pubs, and pizza joints. The beach is a nine-block straight shot from the house and with the bicycles provided we enjoyed calming walks and a dip in the ocean. One the way home with the basket on the bike we picked up dinner and enjoyed the downtime in the backyard of the cottage. This would be a great romantic getaway spot for those looking. It was just what my wife needed at the end of each day as we celebrated and memorialized her father's passing. When we return to revisit family, we will book in a heartbeat!

Beautiful cottage with wonderful owners !
We stayed in this lovely cottage for 5 nights while we were in San Diego for our sons wedding. I wish it could have been longer! Our favorite activity was using the beach bikes to go everywhere. The beach, restaurants, shops, etc were all minutes away. The private backyard was quiet and complete with table, umbrella, lounge chairs, gas grill, and fire pit. Also washer and dryer were great. We were out and about quite a bit, so didn't use the fire pit or grill, but had we stayed longer definitely would have taken advantage of them both. The beds were very comfy, and a nice breeze blew through the cottage. The cottage itself was immaculately clean, and the kitchen was a very efficient set-up for cooking full meals. Parking was tricky on the weekend, but we were able to park right in front of the cottage otherwise. When we come back in the future, we won't even rent a car. Short trip to and from the airport, and Uber is abundant in the area.I would absolutely recommend this cottage, just not on the weeks I want to come back :)

About the host
Hosted by Chrissy Edrozo
We are born and raised in San Diego and spent the last 20 years living and loving everything about Pacific Beach. Currently we live in Point Loma. Ronnie is a Captain of the Fire Department for San Diego City and Chrissy is a Buyer for Costco Wholesale. Our greatest loves are our two chocolate labs, Bubba and Betsy Lou. We love going to the river, going to Mammoth, camping, and riding our bikes to local beaches and restaurants! We purchased the Diamond Beach Cottage in 2007. In 2016, we completely remodeled the inside and the outside of the house. We decided it was time to share the love we had for our Diamond Beach Cottage with others.
Why they chose this property
The house is in a perfect location in the heart of Pacific Beach. Everything is so close to the house, there is no need to drive anywhere. You can walk or ride bikes to the store, a restaurant, and the beach. The closest beach is exactly one mile from the house. The house is also perfect to for BBQing or just hanging outside and enjoy the beautiful San Diego weather. The backyard has a hammock for lounging, a patio table, and a fire pit. The house provides beach toys, foam surf board, boogie boards, beach chairs, a portable cooler and a cart you can use. There is also an onsite washer and dryer for your use.
