(☆NOTE: Age of primary renter must be 25 years or over.)
Though the beds are comfy, you might want to get up early anyway to view the magical display of the ever-changing, ethereal mist as it appears to rise from out of the mountains.
While rocking on the large front porch, enjoy majestic sunsets as the fireflies dance into the summer night. Roast marshmallows and tell ghost stories by the fire pit. The autumn foliage is also breathtaking.
Cabin is well-kept and cozy. Exceptional detail is paid to cleanliness, thanks to our phenomenal housekeeper.
We're located near the top of the mountain with amazing views, >800 sq feet, 2 bed/2 bath + a comfortable queen pullout couch. 2 children max, total of 4 people allowed. Queen beds in both bedrooms. Extra blankets, pillows and throws provided.
The open-concept living area has 15 ft- high cedar ceilings, hardwood floors, a gas fireplace (fall & winter), books, board games, puzzles and brochures.
Central heat/AC. Exceptionally equipped kitchen. Spices, flour, sugar & salt for bakers, coffee maker, filters, crockpot, Brita water filter, dishwasher, dishes, pots & pans, cast iron skillet and dutch oven, electric mixer + bakeware!
Front porch extends the width of the cabin with 4 rocking chairs. Gas BBQ, bought 8/2023. Camp chairs provided for firepit.
Some nearby activities and points of interest are the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, John Campbell Folk School, Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, Lake Santeetlah, Lake Hiawassee, The Biltmore, Saturday Morning Market in downtown Murphy and the Smoky Mountain Railroad.
Enjoy hiking, biking, zip lining, boating and swimming in the beautiful blue-green lakes nearby, white-water rafting, tubing, gem-mining, golfing, horseback riding, fishing, shopping, summer and fall festivals, even winter skiing and snow tubing at ski resorts about 1 hour away.
The Murphy area offers some of the best trout, bass, walleye and striper fishing in the southeast. Excellent trout fishing can be found in the Valley River only 2.5 miles from the cabin.
The area is renowned for its fall foliage. The cabin will accommodate couples or small families.
Family-owned and loved, we hope you will enjoy our "Woodland Mist" cabin as much as we do!

Beautiful Mountain View!

I rented this property as my parent’s anniversary present. They absolutely loved it and the host even left some roses and a sweet note. My parents were thrilled with the cabin and were amazed by the beautiful views! Highly recommended to visit this place for yourself or as a gift for someone else.

Rocking with a View

This sweet cabin was just right for my husband and me. We loved the porch rockers and enjoyed the beautiful view. We cooked breakfast and grilled at night. I’m glad we took the truck .. steep climb to the top. The cabin was just the right size for us and had everything we needed. We met friend in nearby Murphy and explored the Nantahala Outdoor Center. But mostly enjoyed the cabin and this beautiful quiet, escape!

A few of my favorite things

we enjoyed our time at the cabin. finding all of the quirky little antiques throughout our stay. The Murphy Riverwalk, the Rare Bird Emporium and Peach Tree Produce are all worth a trip to town. The John C Campbell Folk Art School was outstanding. We had a memorable day there. But my favorite thing was, sitting on the front porch watching the butterflies on the Mimosa, and listening to the birds as the sun goes down behind the mountains and the fire flies come out.

Cozy cabin with a great view!

We enjoyed our time at this cute & cozy cabin. The kitchen was well stocked & the front porch was a great place to enjoy the beautiful view. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars is that we were asked to take our trash to the sanitary landfill. When you get to the sanitary landfill the sign says that it is for residents only.

Cannot wait to go back!

This cabin is beyond amazing! Beautifully decorated and so clean. Great view of mountains from it. Dinah the owner was so helpful and quickly responded when we reached out to her. We fell in love with the little town, Murphy! So many good places to eat. Trails for hiking close by. Julie’s Place was our favorite restaurant. We lucked out and there was a spring art festival going on in Murphy. We will be back. In fact already booked for a fall trip to this cabin. Dinah even went above and beyond and had flowers, a card and Hershey kisses in the shape of “20” for our anniversary. Homey, quaint and full of love with this cabin. Highly recommend this sweet cabin!!!

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

This is a very cute cabin with fantastic views. The cabin is very clean and well maintained, and has all the amenities you could need. The deck faces west with a wonderful view of the mountains, and provides and especially good view of the sunset. My wife and I spent most of our trip sitting on the deck just enjoying the view. The host, Dinah, was very accommodating and attentive. She provided extensive information on the cabin and its location, and checked in with us periodically during our stay to make sure everything was ok. She was also quick to respond to our inquiries, and even took the time to research and provide a list of restaurants in the area. To top it all off, there was a bottle of wine there to greet us on our arrival (It was our anniversary).

Cozy Getaway

We arrived in the rain and the view of the mountains was obscured by heavy mist. But from the minute we walked into the cabin, we knew, rain or shine, this would be a relaxing weekend. The cabin is spotlessly clean, has everything you could possibly need - a well equipped kitchen, plenty of towels and blankets, comfortable furniture and cozy beds. It's close to Murphy (where we did some antique shopping) and the John C. Campbell Folk School. The driveway is bumpy, but we had no trouble navigating it in a Toyota Rav-4. On our second (and last evening,) the sun broke through the clouds and the view from the front porch was spectacular! We couldn't stop taking photos. The neighborhood is quiet and seems a world away, but is close to plenty of things to do. Dinah was easy to get in touch with (although we didn't have any issues that needed her attention.) Her directions, instructions on how to operate various amenities (fireplace, WiFi, etc) and directions to grocery stores were great. We highly recommend this pretty little cabin and hope we can return someday. Thanks, Dinah, for sharing your little piece of heaven with us!!

The cabin was clean, cozy, beautifully decorated, and well stocked with anything you will need, and then some. The Mountain View was beautiful! It was nice watching the sun rise and mist flow off from the porch rockers. Fire pit was very enjoyable. We loved everything about it.

Top of the mountain, classic cozy cabin feel. I enjoyed the peace and quiet and the cabin was decorated wonderfully! Long driveway, zig-zag all the way up, and the driveway is STEEP! Would recommend AWD or 4WD in wet or inclement weather. Take all your food and groceries so that you don't have to make numerous trips up and down. I will be back to visit. I think this is is my new happy place.

Great would come again

The cabin was super nice and comfy. The beds were great! Incredible water pressure, good ac, lots of support from the host for everything. We really loved it, felt like coming home. My only warning is that the roads to get there are pretty steep. If you’ve never driven a mountain road I’d encourage you to practice first haha. It is accessible via 2wd cars but 4X4 makes it a lot easier to get there.

Good Plus

Excellent view, well equipped, pleasant, but too many "Do not"s in the instruction booklet indicating owner more concerned about controlling visitors than accommodating them. My brother-in-law who was with me thought it was a great place & would return.I was there to enjoy a quiet Memorial Day but couldn't due to lawn mowing, weed whacking, leaf blowing creating noise, dust and throwing debris on porch.

Time with family and freind, outstanding Rental

We book this on a hurry the weekend before in a rush to family, the host Dinah was so so so helpful, this was our first time renting a house and we was kind unsure a few things, Dinah was so easy to work with and quickly responded to my messages, the house was phenomenal!!! Beautiful area sourunding was so peaceful, we sat and watched the birds and squirrels play in the morning, it is normally very hard for me to sleep while away from home, but the beds are just right. We slept like babys. lolWe will definitely be rebooking this cabin again,No issues at all from beginning to end.P.S. the shower is so relaxing has very good pressure to release that stress away. Definitely 10/10

Having moved to Florida from NJ, we then came halfway back to purchase this cabin in NC. We missed the change of seasons, wanted to escape the heat, and generally "unplug". Family owned and loved, we manage it ourselves- not by some non-personal 3rd party property management company. Always quick to respond.

Why they chose this property

We live full time in Florida, so we bought this cabin to enjoy the magnificent scenery, the change of seasons, and the wonderful "small-town" feel and friendliness that abounds here. We have made many wonderful family memories here - it's my granddaughter's "favorite place in the whole world!"

What makes this property unique

The views are stunning- we often stay home to eat instead of going out, enjoying leisurely cooking, or grilling out in the mountain air. Folks would pay top dollar for such a seat at a table in a restaurant -- and we have it right here! The cabin is situated among several others on the mountain, spaced appropriately apart, so that you have privacy, but yet are not completely cut off from civilization.
