Beautiful location, fantastic view, cooked up a nice Thanksgiving dinner in the kitchen and made good use of both fireplace and the woodstove! The weather was less than ideal, but we enjoyed watching the snow flurries from the enormous windows facing the lake! Happy Thanksgiving!
We’ve been staying here yearly for 5 years and always have a good trip. The house is as listed. Inside easily accommodated 6 adults and two children. The beds are all comfortable. The view, the deck, and the fire pit are all
7th year visiting this scenic, well-appointed contemporary in the woods. Very nice attention to detail with a view of Raystown to take your breath away. Very responsive owners. Clean and nicely provisioned. Ideal if you want privacy and quiet.
The beauty of the property location was outstanding not to mention the amazing weather and a full moon! The home was comfortable, beautiful and met all of our household needs. The kids (ages 10, 7 & 4) loved the pontoon boat, fishing, swimming at both State Park Beaches plus DelGrosso's. Thank you for the gracious hospitality.
Stay was okay. View was great. Property can use some cleaning and dusting. The house is not easy to get to if you have a small car. Amenities compared to other properties we’ve stayed at were a bit lacking.

Great place to stay with great views
This place was exactly as advertised. Great communication from the owner, making us aware of status of lake use due to recent rains, etc. and quick response when we realized we left something behind. Nice quiet and private location well worth the switchback climb up the hill. We're already discussing our next trip back to the area and while we typically camp, we'll probably make an exception.
We will absolutely be back to this property. Incredible view of the lake, very nice comfortable furniture both inside and out. Very responsive renter. We loved it. thank you!

Incredible views!
Pros: Jaw dropping panoramic views of Raystown Lake in any season. Beautiful warm home that could sleep as many as 20 people (not that I'd recommend it). Well stocked kitchen with cookware, condiments and spices. Selection of games and books, TVs, WiFi, firewood, and just about anything you'd possibly need. Well done!
You Should Know: Steep winding road in - 4WD recommended for winter. Well water might be off-putting - bring along some bottled water for drinking/cooking. Closest grocery store or restaurant is half and hour's drive - bring your food and drink with you, there's no easy run out to the corner store. Owner requires additional $1500 deposit above the standard $200 VRBO deposit - excessive IMO but keeps out the riff raff I guess. None of these outweigh the fabulous house, grounds, and views!
Highly recommended home, a visit to which you won't soon forget!

Thanks for the great review! We are glad you enjoyed your stay… As far as the $1500 deposit… We offer 2 options you can either pay a $59 travel insurance fee (which protects you up to $1500 in damage) or opt for the $1500 refundable deposit. Most of our renters opt for the $59 travel insurance. We take a lot of pride in our home and try to be careful with who we rent to… This helps provide us a little bit of extra confidence when offering our home on VRBO :)
This home is located on top of a mountain overlooking Raystown lake. The balconies offer breathtaking views with plenty of seating for the whole family. Fire pit was a great place for an evening fire. The property offers lots of seating and space. The only small issue we had was the odor of the water but the owner informed us of the reason for the odor.
We hope to come back again. Thank you for a great gathering place for our family.
The views from this house are amazing. Kitchen is very well equipped. The fire pit area was a lot of fun. Couple of drawbacks are how far it is from everything and the road up to the house is rough but we knew this and were ok with it. Also the sulphur smell from the water in the house when showering or working in the kitchen was a little overwhelming, but again, we knew this issue existed when we rented. Overall had a great week!
Very nice place to stay to escape it all or at least it feels that way. Nothing is close, food or restaurants so plan accordingly. My only suggestion is a water cooler with water there and available, only bc nothing is close. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
