Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The main complaint was that the garbage cans were all filled upon arrival and there was no room for us to put our garbage. Also, the old garbage started to smell bad and we could smell it from the grilling/picnic table area on the property while we were eating. It would also be nice if there were more bath towels included with the property.

Great time in Queen Bee

We had an awesome time with 20 family members in Queen Bee and Buzz Inn. It was exactly what they advertised. A really great family place!

Queen Bee, was very clean. Needs a little outside landscaping maintenance, Coffee maker did not work, but overall a very nice family home, plenty of room for everyone.

Great trip but house needed some TLC

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beachwalk was wonderful. The Queen Bee and Buzz Inn could use some general TLC. The outdoor shower didn’t work at all. All the outside areas of the house were dirty and just run down looking. Under the deck was a total mess with old beach toys and things that were mostly broken junk. The window coverings of the house were not good at all letting lots of morning sunlight in. Overall it just didn’t seem like the house was very well maintained.

The golf cart makes it easy to get to the beach and pool. The staff in the front office was friendly and attentive. We had loads of fun swimming, fishing,and kayaking. We enjoyed the live music in the park and the ice cream at the beach shop. Such a fun vacation for our family.

The space provided at Queen Bee was excellent - plenty of bathrooms, endless hot water, well stocked kitchen, nice golf cart, comfy beds. However, there were some impactful gaps. The outside shower did not work - this made clean up after time in the sand rough. Neither ice maker worked - that was huge. While there was a small portable countertop ice maker, it was not maintained and was moldy. We experienced an AC failure in the height of the heat dome that took days to resolve (not fixed til our last day there) - house temps were in the 80s. Second floor bedrooms were significantly warmer, especially the bunk room. These issues impacted the quality of our stay.

The kitchens were well equipped. The rooms were very comfortable. The dining room table in the Queen Bee could not have been more perfect. The only criticism I have is that the grille was so bad that it was not usable. The exterior, particularly around the entrance needs to a fresh coat of paint or pressure washing. The interior was very well done and comfortable.

The kitchen was well-stocked and allowed so many to gather for eating and social time. The place was also very clean. The grill needed a good scrub before being used. And the response-time from the rental office was hit and miss. We would have loved to turn on the fireplace, but never got a call back.

Family Fun!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location and set up was perfect for our 12 family members. The Buzz Inn was great for those remote workers to have quiet and privacy. The kitchen was well stocked with big pots, dishes, etc. The air conditioning is difficult to manage. The upstairs was hot and the main and lower level was quite cold. Better than all hot but felt like it might be something you want to plan for. Management helped with the issues we had (missing grill, golf cart and dryer not working) so that worked out fine. There are plenty of activities available, easy to get to beach/pool, etc. Lots of fun for our family!!

Queen Bee - a fantastic vacation house

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Queen Bee is the perfect house for our large extended family. The gorgeous kitchen table comfortably seats 16-18 people. We had 15 for dinner 3 nights in a row. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots and pans and utensils to cook and eat. The beds are comfortable. The house is clean and well kept. Two minor items-a small tv in the sitting area next to the kitchen would be great for fanatics who want to watch a ball game after dinner. Also the thermostat seems to have a mind of its own. We had it set for 75 the entire week but the temp varied from 67-71. Overall a great place. We’ve already booked it for next year. Thanks!

Shower curtain with red mold/mildew. Black mold inside water tube on refrigerator. Ants in bedrooms on second floor and bathroom on first floor. Gutters over front steps don't drain well, made steps slippery.

Adequate but disappointing

The property met our needs for 12 adults and 12 children. Although a walkable distance to the beach it was considerably further than we anticipated. The golf cart did not recharge and we actually had to push it back to the house and it was eventually replaced. The ice maker in the fridge did not work nor did the stand alone ice maker which had black mold in it so we had to purchase our own ice. The shower head in the main suite bathroom blew out of the wall and was not possible to repair during our stay. The outdoor gas grill was substandard for a large group and heated unevenly making it a challenge to use. We also found a dirty pan of scrambled eggs in the middle of a stack of frying pans. Management and maintenance answered our calls and problems efficiently.

Big House, but....

Reviewer Comments: We stayed in Queen Bee and Buzz in for the first time this year. Have stayed in several other Beachwalk properties. The house is big with spaces for everyone. It is well stocked and was as clean inside as can be expected for a beach community resort. Having said that, the exterior of the house needs paint and trim maintenance. Rotting boards and trim on all the porches. Our biggest aggravation was there was zero beach equipment. A group of 12 people with no chairs, no inner tubes, no boogie boards, no kayaks, no noodles...nothing. A beach house on Lake Michigan with no beach equipment is rather ridiculous - especially for $13,500+!! The office said things get broken and stolen and owners choose not to replace them. Question...isn't that what security deposit is for?? Additionally, one of the washing machines didn't work, although it was fixed 3 days into our stay. The grounds around the house were a mess. Tall weeds all around the house along with old leaves from last year that hadn't been blown off the patio, under the deck by basement entrance and all around the screens on the porches. We reported it to the office the first day. They said maintenance should have done that and would be there Monday. They never came. The basement bathroom was pretty bad with mold in the shower, broken tiles and a broken ceiling fan that sounded like a jet taking off. It's a shame because the house has a great floor plan and is well furnished, but because of things listed above, we will not return to Queen Bee.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great table. Spaces worked out well for our large family. However, the HVaC system needs cleaning. All of our allergies were through the roof. Dust covered all of the intakes. Additionally, the dryer doesn’t dry. We went outside and put our hands over the exhaust and no air was moving. Definitely a fire hazard. Also, the washer in the Buzz Inn didn’t work at all. We didn’t bother letting staff know as it wasn’t a huge deal for us, but maintenance should check it out. Also, if walked around the house barefoot, your feet would turn black.

Great time at Beachwalk

The houses were spacious and large enough to accommodate our family of 21 comfortably. Everything is there for you to enjoy (board games, cards, firepit, wagon and cooler for the beach).We enjoyed the pool, Lake Kai beach, sand volleyball, tennis, fishing and the short golf cart ride to Sheridan beach. The cafe near the pool has yummy ice cream, and their avocado toast is delicious. We will definitely be back!

Great place for kids and adults

We gathered round the huge table for meals and games. We spent time in the large basement area. It was nice that sometimes the kids were downstairs and the adults were upstairs doing separate activities. We walked to the beach several times to get exercise and watch the waves and play in the sand. We cooked and served thanksgiving dinner for 34 with the two ovens in the two houses. There were plenty of adorable dishes for this event. We noticed that the upper dish cupboard in the kitchen looks to be pulling away from the wall a little bit.
