Stunning Lake Front Home

Star Cove Cabin welcomes you as a whimsy throwback to classic vacationing. The no frills appeal of this cozy cabin is undoubtably its private lakefront, while the added amenities at the cabin itself round out an overall relaxing experience.

A forested lane leads to the cabin, and guests enter into an open plan common space. A basic kitchen supplies all the necessities, along with a couple of bar stools overlooking the living room, a generous deck, and the lake beyond. The interior features wood detailing throughout with occasional accent walls. A wraparound leather sofa is the perfect spot for everyone to squeeze in and enjoy the warmth of the fire, or alternatively, a movie night.

The sunny master bedroom, a king, extends off the living room, along with a small queen guest room and a twin room. All bedrooms share a bathroom with a walk-in shower.

Outside, the sun deck is easily accessible from the kitchen, which is great for outdoor dining. And a crystal clear, bubbling hot tub is just a few convenient steps from inside. From the deck you can view a generous bit of land, at least in lakefront terms, down to the lake. A short, forested walk down a private path leads you to a gazebo right on the lake. This is the ideal staging area for lakefront adventures - putting on sunscreen, organizing your fishing tackle, towel storage - or as a shaded destination for sipping a cold beverage when the sun sets. This property comes with two row boats and two kayaks just begging you to explore Mohican Lake. A rustic fire pit is also available to guests down by the lake.

The thing we love about this cabin is that there's truly something for every season. Escape the winter blues with warm nights by a crackling fire or out in the hot tub under a blanket of stars. Fish off your own private dock in the spring (be sure to bring your own equipment). Grill up a feast during the heat of the summer. Let the leaves dazzle you in the fall. And just 25 minutes to Bethel Woods, for outdoor concerts and festivals.Please note there is a Ring camera by the front entrance to protect our guests during their stay.

Already booked another weekend

- unique in area for its Adirondack camp style cabin and setting (versus clear cut and suburban lawns) - Private; no neighbors on south and others barely visible - amazing lake setting, we spent hours there Quiet too, not much motor boating (on weekdays in June at least), lot of frogs croaking - comfortable cabin with excellent cable and WiFi - Neversink Gorge a good outing/hike with falls - Super comfortable master mattress (Didn’t use others) - many, varied outdoor seating options: on the deck, in the woods, on the lake. fire pit right on lake - responsive, friendly hosts Highly recommended!

Beautiful Gem Amazing lake

WOW GREAT VACATION- this place is a hidden gem! First let me say how responsive the owner is. He will answer any questions you have. It made for an easy decision to choose this house and we were able to book with confidence that we had found the right place. When we arrived it confirmed that all we had thought was correct. The house is in an ideal setting and peaceful. The owner happily showed us around and spent his time making sure any questions we had were answered-from TV use, wifi to helpful boating tips. He also left his number in case we had any questions that we forgot to ask. The house is stocked and has all modern conveniences ie: convection stove, dishwasher, kurieg etc…. . The house is clean and in excellent condition. The beds and bedrooms were comfortable and well appointed-great pillows and linens. The living room area is comfortable and spacious-plenty of seating-this place has lots of room you never feel you are on top of each other. The lake is amazing the kids spent hours enjoying the kyacks, row boats and swimming docks. The outside deck and hot tub are clearly kept in amazing condition and very clean. The lake is clean and so refreshing-you can spend hours swimming or floating. We can’t wait to come back and enjoy the amazing hospitality and all this house has to offer.

Amazing property and host

My wife and I chose Steven's property for our 10th anniversary. I did alot of searching with a couple rental apps and we were not disappointed . The house was stunning . The pictures on the app are completely representative of the property. In fact once your there and see it in person its even nicer. Exceptionally clean inside. Fully stocked and supplied with everything you need to enjoy your stay without having to worry about anything. The property on the lake was very secluded which is what I was wanted. We spent one day kayaking the lake and were the only people on it the entire day. This time of year is perfect if you want seclusion and quiet we basically saw only one person the whole time we were at the house or on the lake. The lake has a good amount of fish and we caught a few from the dock and while kayaking around . Steven replied to all my messages with answers to all my questions . He made it very easy for us to enjoy ourselves . This was our first time at his property and hopefully not the last. I would like to someday return with our 3 boys they would love it . If you love nature and fishing and hiking there is no shortage of really spectacular trails and trout rivers nearby. Final note .....the hot tub was amazing. Relaxing after a long day on the lake or a day hiking trails on the Delaware River. Thank you Steven , Ed

Idyllic and peaceful getaway

Our family had a great time at this charming property by the lake. The home was immaculate and the surrounding property beautiful. We enjoyed the large hot tub on the back deck as well as the peaceful gazebo by the water. The gazebo is large and accommodating with an overhead fan, light, and several comfortable seats. It's a great place to enjoy a good book while looking out over the lake. The main bedroom has a king-size adjustable bed with high ceilings and plenty of storage space. It also has a window air conditioner and large flat screen TV. The second bedroom has a large four-poster queen-size bed, and the third has two beds and a window A/C. The living room is spacious with plenty of seating, another window A/C, a large flat screen with Roku. The kitchen has all the appliances, tools, and cookware you could need including a stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, a coffee maker and a separate Keurig. The double-door refrigerator has plenty of room for groceries. You won't be disappointed.

Perfect Getaway with the Family!

As soon as we arrived, Sue the Property Manager made us feel welcome. I really want to say the pictures on the website do not do this Property justice. It is a charming house. Big kitchen, dining and living room area. The Master Bedroom was awesome. The outside property including the Hot tub was gorgeous. There are little areas that the owner has put a lot of thought into including fire pit and lounge chairs on the ground s. The owner Steve went out of his way many times. for us .Loved the Private Gazebo overlooking the Lake. We all had a ball on the kayaks. I can say we will definitely be returning. Nancy Lombardo

A hidden Gem

We had an amazing time during our stay. I will start by saying that the owner was fabulous and super responsive/accommodating. The property manager was equally amazing and made us feel completely at home. The house itself was super clean, very functional, well stocked and extremely comfortable. We also loved the decor and decorative style of the owners. I call this lake house a hidden gem because the pictures didn’t do it justice. The house was beautiful as was the property. The lake was gorgeous and the property was so relaxing, well cared for and spacious. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, the grill and the gorgeous fireplace. My husband and I needed a rest and we achieved that. We will return to this peaceful retreat again and again.

Ideal Upstate Getaway!

I couldn't recommend this house enough! I booked this house with my boyfriend and another couple for a long weekend and it was perfect! The house manager Sue is truly a gem. She went above and beyond to make sure we felt accommodated and gave us recommendations on what to do in the area. She even went out of her way to pick up local fire wood for us! The house was very clean and had all the essentials. The bed in the master bedroom was incredibly comfortable too. My favorite parts of the house was the hot tub over looking the lake and the fire pit right on the lake (perfect for watching the sunset on the water). I can’t wait to come back- hopefully in the summer!

Rejuvenating Getaway from NYC

My quaranteam of five thoroughly enjoyed our super relaxing stay and wish we would have booked a few days more! We just didn’t want to leave. Being in nature was so wonderful. We set our phones down and didn’t really pick them up. We spent most of our time in the hot tub or in front of the fireplace. We LOVED being able to eat together at the massive table! The shower was so nice! Thank you to Susan for the warmest welcome and her husband for the firewood deliveries. Thank you to Steven for sharing his place. We hope to come back and enjoy more of the lake when it’s warmer out. I, personally, feel like a new person after our three-night stay. *** be prepared for very soft beds!

great views, master bed and outdoor hot tub!

If you are taking a trip as a couple this house is fantastic. The master bedroom and the hot tub are great. It's quiet and pretty. There was a lot of snow! It's probably a different house in every season. The layout of the house is a bit awkward and for winter you are inside a lot. If the kids could run to the lake, there would be more for them to do but the snow was a little tricky this season. Very deep. Two bedrooms are great and spacious and one is quite awkward with no room around the bed at all, a queen that takes up the whole room. A daybed in here would make it so much less cramped and more inviting and comfortable! Kitchen works great and I cooked A LOT because there is only one restaurant nearby. The fireplace was fun and we made indoor smores! I loved the master bedroom, has a great view and the bed is ridiculous! Huge with electronic controls to prop yourself up. The hot tub was a great treat during the day and at night. We even had a snowball fight in the tub. The hosts were fantastic and available if needed. Basics like olive oil for cooking were onsite and there's laundry too. Great plus! I don't know if we would go back mostly because my kids would fight over the more comfortable bedroom. The lake is gorgeous even in winter.

Jennifer, thank you for all the wonderful things you described about your stay at the Lakehouse! Honestly, after reading the review, I was shocked that it only earned 3 stars, especially since we have received over 50 straight 5 Star reviews between our major platforms! Guests have raved about the open space layout, and the coziness they feel the house exudes. There are numerous things to do in the area, and the property itself. I even set up a heated RV camper that your kids could have enjoyed by the Lake while watching the sunset and listening to music. The fact that you stayed inside most of the time and only found one restaurant ( there are dozens), says more about your sense of adventure, than it does about the property itself. Maybe in the future, you can be a bit more generous to hosts in your Star giving category. Especially, to someone, who gave you a complimentary Sunday night stay, with a personal Greeter who checked you and your kids in, so to make it possible for them to be ready for home schooling Monday morning!

Remote hide away

What an incredible, enchanted cabin of a place to retreat to! The views of the lake are spectacular and the coziness and feel of this home was exactly everything we were looking for to get away and get lost in nature. Super happy to have found this place and the property manager was amazing and attentive and the owner himself very friendly and accommodating. We will certainly be back again in the near future!

Great cabin getaway

Had a great time getting away at this cabin in the woods. It was a snowy time with a cozy cabin; the hot tub was great in the snow! The property is quite large and we trudged through the snow to see the lakefront. Looking forward to considering a return in the warmer months!

Great stay just 2 hours north of NYC

Honestly didn't feel like we were in New York still - the yard and lake access was huge, felt like we were in a forest. Also pet friendly and had a hot tub - everything was completely set up when we arrived too, including firewood as we went during the winter! Would love to come again during the summer time.

Gracious Host!! Fantastic getaway!

We were so thrilled with our stay here, It was exactly what we pictured NYE would feel like in this peaceful, secluded area with scenic views. First off the pictures do not do justice to this home! If you are looking for a cabin like setting with modernization updates this home is just that. The house was immaculate which was key for us, The most comfortable bed you will ever sleep on; The open floor concept makes for a comfortable setting. The fireplace and hot tub made for a nice romantic touch. They have everything you need here. We are looking forward to making this a tradition and would absolutely consider coming back in the warmer months to enjoy all outdoor activities.
