About this property
Just Off Grand Lake on the North Inlet; Gorgeous View overlooking the Rapids
Cabin 23 in Lemmon Lodge is available for rent after Memorial Day weekend through mid-September. Please check the calendar for dates that are not yet reserved.
Note: You may have noticed elsewhere that our cabin is sometimes referred to as Cabin #28. While our cabin has always been No. 23 (since 1991), a “re-plat” of Lemmon Lodge (that required the approval of the Town of Grand Lake) changed its "platted identification" to No. 28. Nevertheless, for reasons of continuity and tradition, the owners have decided that this cabin will remain “No. 23” for rental purposes.
DESCRIPTION
Two-story log lodge with two decks and breath-taking views overlooking the Tonahutu (North Inlet) rapids – within view of, and a 2-minute walk away from Grand Lake – the largest and deepest natural lake in Colorado. Large bay window and sliding glass door offer great (and relaxing) view of the North Inlet just feet away. All wood interior and four full-size bedrooms, each with a queen-sized bed. Living room and upstairs family room, each with TV, DVD and a queen-size sofa bed. One full bath with tub and shower, plus 2 bathrooms with showers. Large kitchen with island, counter seating, wall oven, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. Free internet with wifi. Entire cabin was recently re-carpeted.
Situated in family friendly Lemmon Lodge, this meticulously maintained cabin is within short walking distance of downtown Grand Lake, yet quietly insulated and nestled among the surrounding lodge pole pines. Plus, you’re only ten minutes away from the majestic beauty and spectacular scenery of Rocky Mountain National Park. Enjoy the clean, crisp air, numerous activities and unmatched relaxation of one of Colorado’s premier vacation spots!
The town of Grand Lake was originally an outfitting and supply point for the mining settlements of Lulu City, Teller City and Gaskill. By the mid-1880's, it had become a tourist destination due to the natural beauty of the area. Since 1915, the town of Grand Lake has served as the western portal to Rocky Mountain National Park.
Summer activities include boating, kayaking, sailing, water skiing, paddle boarding, fishing (including right off the point in Lemmon Lodge), trout fishing, golf, volleyball, horseshoes, biking, mountain biking, hiking and backpacking (including overnight) in Rocky Mountain National Park and horseback riding. This area is extremely popular with photographers in terms of both scenery and wildlife (including elk, moose and Osprey). Plus shopping, restaurants, the Rocky Mountain Repertoire Theatre, and museums.
The total sales and lodging tax charge on short-term rentals in Grand Lake increased in 2017 to 11%. The Town of Grand Lake announced a 1% raise in its sales tax (from 4% to 5%) in November 2016 in order to pay for improvements to streets, boardwalks, sidewalks, etc. The Town has stated that this increase is temporary, and that it will terminate as soon as practicable after the debt for these improvements has been paid off.
(Please, no pets and no smoking)
Parking: Please note that, due to fire, town and safety requirements, NO MORE THAN 2 vehicles may be parked in the designated parking area for this cabin at any time. Additional vehicles should be parked outside the main gate to Lemmon Lodge in the municipal parking lot.
Towel Policy: Please note that we do not automatically, or normally, provide fresh towels on a daily basis. Fresh towels will be provided as needed upon request during your stay if the towels provided upon your arrival are damaged or become abnormally soiled. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE TOWELS PROVIDED AS BEACH TOWELS OR FOR THE REMOVAL OF MAKEUP.
