Urban Saddle is off the beaten path, but in a great way.
The cabins are rustic, but wonderful. Outfitted kitchen, comfy beds and couches, firepit, grill, and and decks.
Monique and her husband were great hosts,

Fun for a getaway
Our kids had a blast in the outdoor areas around the cabin, it appeared to a safe area. The online listing of the cabin was deceitful. It was much smaller than the pictures and the overall cleanliness was poor, but it is a cabin. Our door didn’t lock and the toaster broke after one use but we made the most of it and had a fun family trip.

Hot and sticky. No AC
No communication from host prior to arrival. We had questions and without any guidance we had a somewhat uncomfortable stay. We were billed an additional one hundred dollars, which was never explained and charged a cleaning fee for a unit that was NOT clean

Would recommend.
The place is cozy and quiet. I will say the pictures and description are deceiving. Cabins are very small and very compact. If you like to have alot of room to stretch, then you need to be outside. Also there is no air conditioning so be prepared. All in all though it is a very cute place and very peaceful.

Overpriced Campground
I loathe writing bad reviews, but I feel that in this instance, I should share. Though Urban Saddle Ranch is on its way to being an upscale campground, it's just not there yet. Set in the heavily wooded hills near the Raystown Dam, it's lovely in its natural beauty, but the rutted out roads and non-existant signs have much to be desired!! Another family and I rented one of the 2 story spaces that made up the big cabin which housed 3 other rentals. They allowed only one car per rental, which was fine, because they had an overflow parking not too far away. However, parking at the cabin was in the rear and extremely tight and unclear because of no signage or markings. Because of the confusion, the owner approached myself and our neighbors. I have never had an experience from a host like this piece of work!! He was condescending, unprofessional and simply had no patience or willingness to understand anything that might need improvement or change in order to help future customers!! I was appalled at how he spoke to me. Enough about parking...now onto the no air conditioning situation. I was prepared for this because nice previous customers put this tidbit in their reviews (its not listed in amenities). What I wasn't prepared for was the fact that probably 75% of the windows didn't even open! And there was no screen in the front door to boot!! Aaahhh it was hot! The last negative bit was that the "Office " to sign in at was located past a sign that read "STOP! NO VEHICLES PAST THIS POINT " & the office was labeled "City Hall". To save other people's confusion, just put that in the welcome papers. By the way, the host was never in City Hall, she was always at home.
On the positive side, all of my kiddos enjoyed the free range animals and the corrals of pigs and horses. We also enjoyed the beautiful outdoor campfire sites and mini picnic tables. We also fit nicely in the space and loved the 1/2 bath on the main floor.
This place is on its way to being a quaint upscale campground, but give it a few more years because right now, it's just an overpriced one.

Hi Lorraine, we want all of our guests to rest easy, and we're sorry that this property did not exceed your expectations. We followed up with the homeowner, who let us know that parking has never been an issue before. They tried to extend a courtesy by letting you park closer to the building, and they are sorry that this led to confusion. The owner assured us that the listing is just as advertised, and we will evaluate the pre-stay information sent to guests to see if anything needs to be clarified. Thanks for your review; we are glad that you and your family enjoyed the wonderful outdoor space!

Served it's purpose
There were 8 of us ladies who planned in hiking the standing stone trail/1000 steps. This location was in close proximity and reasonably priced. Super nice fire rings. Owners have a nice property. Lots of cabins/rentals close by on the property but everyone was quiet. Seems pretty family friendly.
We had an amazing time and it was very beautiful and quite. Thank you for the great service and experience. Definitely will becoming back. Didn't want to leave

Beautiful! A peaceful weekend getaway from work. My children and I enjoyed seeing all the animals. It’s also pet friendly, and my old city dog loved it.

Rustic property was nice enough. Parking is inconvenient. Largest rental and it seemed we were the only ones who couldn’t park near the units. Monique and Robert were nice. The thing that made it unbearable was no a/c, coupled with most/almost all windows unscreened and stuck shut. Many people left half way thru paid stay, too hot. Had to go outside to cool off. The provided box fans just pushed warm air and accumulated dust from under the couches around. Food stuffs in between cushions. Need internal waste baskets and cleaning supplies like a broom and dust pan. Noticed mice droppings in at least one bedroom drawer and smelled of urine.

Hi Brian, thanks for your review. This homeowner has asked us to pass along the following response:
- We're sorry to hear the heat made your stay less enjoyable. The weather was unusually hot and dry during your visit, and the larger cabin can get warm.
- We apologize if our newly hired maintenance crew did not clean the cabin properly. We've addressed the issues you brought up with them so that it does not happen again.
- Thanks for your review. Your comments have been taken seriously, and changes have been made to improve for future guests.
Property was nice but the listing is inaccurate. No towels were provided even though it says they are. An air conditioner was provided but it was not hooked up. Thankfully it was cool enough at night.
I was never told where the main cabin was to check in so I called when i got to the cabin and that was good enough for them. Not a bad place to stay they just need to correct the listing errors.

Dan, we're so glad you enjoyed your stay overall! We appreciate your suggestions on areas of improvement and can confirm towels are not typically provided, but there was a miscommunication during your stay. We're confident this won't recur for future guests. Additionally, we don't advertise in the listing that the property has AC, but we apologize if that caught you off guard. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and we hope to host you again soon! Best, the Evolve Team
