Casa Oliveira is situated on a well-designed development of small villas where unobtrusive and extensive views of the mountains of Monchique can be enjoyed. Only a few minutes walk to the pretty unspoilt fishing village of Ferragudo with ATM points, shops, bars and restaurants. Across the river is the market and fishing port of Portimão with its marina and the beach resort of Praia da Rocha which can be visited using the Water Taxi available in the village. Eastwards from the villa is a short walk to the lovely beaches of the quieter Angrinha beach and Praia Grande where you can soak up the sun and enjoy lunch at one of the beach bars or participate in one of the waters sports which are readily available there. Casa Oliveira offers a home from home environment, superbly equipped including books and even inflatables for the pool to make your holiday hassle free and easy.

The host and office assistant were very welcoming and the location was perfect - away from the very busy community of Portimao but close enough to amenities. Secure parking on the property and easy access was appreciated. Very close to some wonderful golf courses. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Great neighborhood

House location is on quiet end of street which was a plus. House is comfortable and pool area nice. Local market and coffee shop were friendly, and village a short walk away for great food in a very picturesque place. Would stay in this vrbo again. Note: we were 2 couples, so just know that 1 bathroom is not on the same floor as the 2 bedrooms.

Great 2 bed property in a good location for wandering into Ferragudo. Steps into the pool are great and much better than the ladders that many of the other properties on this development have. Pool has sun throughout the day from early morning through to late afternoon.

We spent a great week at charming Ferragudo. The villa is as advertised, clean and very nicely decorated. Kitchen is fully equipped. Check in,check out are easy. Couple of good local restaurants in a walking distance. Beautiful beach . Will definitely come back.

Been to Casa Oliveira before 7 years ago which is why we came back. Lovely location: easy to walk to the town and beach; great facilities; great pool; everything you want from a 2 bedroom house with a pool. We would be welcomed on arrival but nobody showed up. Explanation how to switch the alarm off and TV pin-code were not present and the owner referred to the "management" to get them. The unapologetic "greeter" came to the house 20 hours after the agreed arrival time.At times our locked home was entered in our absence, without our knowing or consent and bed sheets and towels were replaced. Despite the good intentions, this infringement of our privacy shocked me and gave me an insecure feeling during our stay. There are no lockable places for your personal stuff. The house itself can use some maintenance and a bit more than superficial cleaning. There's a sewer smell in the upper bathroom and use of the gas-geyser produces a dubious odor as well. The roof drains on a poorly drained balcony causing flooding of the bedroom during heavy rain. Empty aerosol cans and swollen doorposts suggest these are not recent problems. Some locks on the sliding doors are not working so you need to close the shutters when leaving. If an owner advertises with kitchen/ toilet paper soap etc, he should provide them and not rely on the left-overs of others. If he can't provide he shouldn't promise. Honest advertising and care for clients invite to a respectful reciprocal behavior. It would also be more civilized and appear less hostile than "make sure all rubbish has been removed from the villa and disposed off in the appropriate bins, failure to do so will incur a charge of 100"

Hi my name is Jan Murphy. I live and work in the UK and therefore do not get to visit the villa as often as I would like. I consider myself very fortunate to be able to enjoy such a wonderful property and hope it will give you as much pleasure.
Casa Oliveira is a family owned villa and is used by the family for vacations throughout the year we therefore believe it has a 'home from home' atmosphere.
It is lovingly looked after, having been recently refurbished and our guests to date all appreciate and fall in love with the property and it's location and tend to re-visit time and time again. We try to go at least twice a year and the rest of the time we like to think we share our villa and the lovely location with others! Many of our clients go again and again!!

Why they chose this property

My late husband found the villa whilst on holiday visiting his brother in Carvoeiro. We fell in love with Ferragudo as it has so much character. It is still very Portuguese and uncommercialised compared to other parts of the Algarve. It has everything you could want for an enjoyable holiday right on your doorstep!
It is located in such a beautiful area, in close proximity to our favourite beaches and restaurants, and just far enough out of town to be peaceful and surrounded by open areas with magnificent views from the pool terrace.

What makes this property unique

Benefits include the 8m x 4m private pool and extensive garden, a must for the children and adults alike in the Algarve sunshine. We often BBQ by the pool in the evening and then walk down to the village square for a few drinks where we like to meet up with the locals who are very friendly and welcoming.
The villa is in a quiet area but with good access to public transport. The spacious property is gated and railings for child safety. The property has electric shutters and alarm which adds to the security of the property.
