The original slate front, a rare piece of history, is a testament to the cottage's rich heritage, providing a unique snapshot of village life long ago.
The stone-built cottage boasts features including a fully equipped, farmhouse style, kitchen with four ring gas hob, double oven/grill, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge. There are two spacious reception rooms enjoying a SMART TV, feature gas fire and access to complimentary 300MB ultrafast WIFI. Furthermore, there is a generous, vaulted ceiling, bathroom with a wealth of luxury features including a Victorian style pull chain loo whilst upstairs there is an additional W/C and three bedrooms (two doubles and a compact twin) of which two enjoy sea views and the other an inland garden aspect. When you are ready to venture out the harbour, eateries, beaches and coastal paths are just a stone’s throw away ready and waiting to be explored. Further afield and within a short drive are some must see Cornish attractions which include the world-famous Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan amongst many others. There are also many a National Trust property in Cornwall that are always worth a visit.

About the host
Hosted by Carole Cleave

We live two miles away in St. Austell and have owned this cottage for 23 years. We rebuilt it with love and care over a long period and tried to retain all its traditional feel. One day we hope to move into it and so we did it up with that in mind rather than as a holiday let. You will find some quirky features which reflect the love we have for the cottage. Our three grown up children all live and work locally. We clean the cottage ourselves and are on hand should there be problems.
Why they chose this property
We own this pair of semi detached cottages. Originally we bought number 24, next door, on impulse after a chance viewing - we were not looking for something to buy. The quiet setting seemed just magical, even though the harbour was just a stone throw away. Guests seem to find it the same. We completely renovated the property over too many years for any economic sense. Many people return year on year. Mona Hurley lived next door in number 23 and we became great friends. She was in her late eighties and had no inside loo. In time we approached her and her landlords and managed to buy her house and on day one put a loo in the back bedroom which delighted her as she "would never need her whatnot again" Mona lived to 94 and we then started another long renovation journey. Enjoy them.
