Luxury Detached Home Overlooking The North Yorkshire Moors

Carr Hill House is a luxury detached rental home which has been with the family for fifteen years, initially as a 5 star Bed and Breakfast. The property can sleep 10 adults and 2 children, with an additional double sofa bed and single sofa bed bringing the total to 15 persons. The house is set in a large lawned garden overlooking the North York Moors with a steam train running through the valley below. A 5 minute drive to the coast and into the North York Moors national park. Our location means that walking and cycling trails are on the door step. Activities such as golf, sailing, horse riding and a ride on the steam train into the national park are minutes away.

Lovely property

Booked for a family get together, house is located 3 miles outside Whitby. Brilliant walking area plus short drive to Goathland for more walks. House is very comfortable with all needs catered for, comfortable beds and plenty of garden space. Libby was very helpful host and contactable.

We stayed for 3 nights to celebrate a 60th birthday. Family flew in from France, Shanghai & Seattle, so our accommodation had to be spot on. We couldn’t have been happier with the house, it’s facilities & multiple bedrooms & bathrooms - we were a full house & there was plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen was very well equipped & had everything we needed. The weather was perfect so we spent time on the patio overlooking the lovely, well tended garden. Communication with the owner was great, we would highly recommended no.73.

Fabulous house with great host near Whitby

We went to this house to celebrate a friend's upcoming wedding. This house was absolutely stunning. The bedrooms were spacious and clean. The garden was beautiful and felt very private. The house was huge! Plenty of space for us to play games and relax. The views were phenomenal. I had no issues at all with this property. The host was very attentive and helpful,she phoned prior to check in date to give us information about the house. I can't recommend this place enough. We will probably be returning at some point, excellent value for money.

Amazing home!

Wow!! For those looking at reviews, do not hesitate to rent this place, it’s fabulous! Libby, your home is amazing, it could not have been more perfect. From the lovely things you left for us upon arrival, to the amount of room for the 13 us to relax and enjoy ourselves. The only thing that could have been better was if we stayed for a longer time. We will absolutely be returning at some point. We’d be back next year if we could line up our vacation time. Sadly it will have to wait a bit. Thank you for being an amazing communicative host, even with the differing time zones. We all fell in love with the place. The kids were in love with the garden and the giant Jenga. Family Celebration

It’s been said before, but the photos don’t do this lovely property justice. Generous bedrooms, good sized and well equipped kitchen and plenty of room to gather our group of ten to celebrate our golden wedding. We would all highly recommend this property for family gatherings.

Long awaited holiday

A fabulous base for a holiday. The house was wonderful, bigger than it appeared in some photos. Three generations had room to to be together and space for for quiet time! Two ovens in the kitchen was a bonus, although we couldn't read the temperatures on one of them, but not a big problem. Libby was wonderful to deal with and the extra thick mattress in the cot was much appreciated. Would recommend the house and area very highly.

Great house for a large family group. The layout makes it suitable for other groups too. The photos don’t do it justice and it’s much bigger than it appears in them. The lawned area is quite flat but appears to be sloping away in the photo. It is not enclosed though - a gate through to the driveway would have been helpful. We liked the location away from the bustle of Whitby but with plenty to do nearby. Owner lives next door and was helpful without being intrusive. Would definitely like to return.

Large family house near Whitby

Very comfortable and warm house with perfect accommodation for our extended family of six adults and five children. Garden is not safe for the children (all under seven) as not enclosed but we spent every day out and found lots to do.

Why they chose this property

CarrHillHouse was previously run as a 5 star bed and breakfast by my parents who have recently retired. Owning this luxury house has allowed us to reconnect with the beautiful town of Whitby and the surrounding North Yorkshire Moors.

What makes this property unique

We took over ownership of the property to afford us a family retreat in beautiful surroundings. While here we enjoy cycling, riding the steam train, hiking, fossil hunting and generally exploring the coast line as a family.
We hope similar family’s or groups of friends can also enjoy the house and area.
