Luxury 4 Bedroom Villa With Private Pool And Breathtaking Views
This superb villa offers the best of both worlds. The villa is situated in an extremely peaceful location, set in 2.5 acre grounds within a cork oak forest with stunning views towards the coast. You can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the location (which is not overlooked), while La Garde Freinet, a medieval fort town with a good range of local shops and restaurants and a market twice a week, is no more than 900 m away. St Tropez, meanwhile, is a short distance away, with its port and its beaches, offering the very best of shopping, restaurants, glamour and night-life. The villa is in traditional provencale style, but has been fully upgraded with all modern facilities. All bedrooms have air conditioning. There is a private pool and sun terrace. The grounds include La Bergerie's own vineyard, capable of producing 1000 bottle of rose per annum.

We spent an idyllic week at La Bergerie, cooking, lazing by the pool, pretending we lived like that all the time. ;) The house is beautifully restored and decorated, yet comfortable and very much a home. The daily challenge was choosing which terrace to set up for dinner. Very private, yet seconds from La Garde-Freinet, with its wonderful market and great shops. We ran and hiked, zipped down to St Tropez for some people-watching, wallowed on the beach at St. Maxine.... it was ridiculously fun. Thanks so much to Steve and Ann for creating such a special haven. Hope to return again soon!

This was our second visit and unbelievably, it surpassed the first!
The house is gorgeous and beautifully furnished throughout with no detail overlooked right down to the linen, the pictures on the walls, the quality of the kitchen and its contents.
La Bergerie is in a wonderful position, secluded and private yet with breathtaking views and within a few minutes walk from the village.
A most delightful and charming villa, beautifully presented by its owners, who clearly have a great eye for detail
Everything one could ever want in a living space is provided, both inside and around its grounds, making for a fabulous holiday experience
Summer 2022 - We had a a thoroughly enjoyable and blissfully happy stay at La Bergerie. The house is delightful: light, airy, comfortable and very well - and very elegantly - furnished and equipped, both inside and out. Copious grounds with lovely views and a variety of outdoor spaces to be enjoyed at different times of the day. And it is in an excellent location: complete sense of privacy while at the house, yet within easy reach of the small yet quite lively town of La Garde Freinet which we found absolutely delightful. Highly recommended!
Wonderful stay at La Bergerie! The house is beautiful and the surrounding area is amazing to explore. We were two families with four young teens between us, and everyone had a great time. The kids loved the pool and we all loved our trips into La Garde Freinet, and all the neighbouring towns and villages. Everything is close by and the views from the house and the roads are incredible. Kind and considerate property manager and hosts.
A beautiful, comfortable and characterful house, combined with peace, tranquility and a great view
We booked this house with friends and it was the perfect place. Plenty of room for us to spread out, or be together - especially around the pool or at meal times. The house is very well equipped and shops, supermarkets and the local wine co-operative (where you can buy very reasonable, and reasonably priced, rosé by the flagon!). We all love to cook so most days we ate at the house although we also ate out or visited a few local bars - which was fun too. St. Tropez, Port Grimaud and many other wonderful villages and towns are within easy reach for those whose idea of a good holiday isn’t just snoozing in a hammock, reading a good book by the pool or simply gazing at the view with the sea in the distance - there is something for everyone here. Both Steve, the host, and Celine, the manager were very helpful.
« La Bergerie » est rénovée et décorée avec beaucoup de goût, alliant sobriété et modernité. Rien n'est "cheap". Le parc est magnifique, de nombreux endroits pour prendre les repas ou l’apéro, une très belle vue. Une maison où on se sent bien.
La clim serait un + mais pas indispensable.
Nous recommandons vivement cet endroit.
Our group (6 adults + 1 kid) spent a wonderful one week in the villa. Furniture, equipment of the kitchen, outdoor area, pool, garden - all have exceeded our expectations. Close to the village with all the amenities - bakery, butcher, small and well supplied supermarkets, even in a walking distance.
We rated the internet presense with only 4* as the reality is much better compared to the description and the pitures provided :-)
Easy and smooth communication with the owners!
We had a wonderful stay at La Bergerie. It really is a true home, the attention to detail is superb and we had everything we needed for a truly relaxing and comfortable holiday. The outdoor abri was amazing and this was where we enjoyed our meals every evening and soaked in the beautiful setting. I'm sure we will be back!

Incredible attention to detail - stunning villa!
The photos don't convey how beautiful La Bergerie is. Everything has been thought through by the owners who completely refurbished the villa a few years ago. Everywhere you look there are beautiful touches and interesting objets d'art. The pool area is gorgeous with plenty of sunloungers and stunning views. We loved the two shaded dining areas too - very stylish.
The village of La Garde Freinet has everything you could need from the fabulous butchers who will make food on request like paella and quiches to the fresh croissants every day from the two boulangeries and of course the twice-weekly market.

A very comfortable house with a mrvellous view
We were 7 in the house and we all loved our stay there. It was extremely well equipped and Celine, the house manager, looked after us very well. We are definitely going back next year.

Simply stunning!
My family and I stayed at La Bergerie in May 2013. The property is maintained at a very high standard with very comfortable bedrooms and lovely bathrooms. Great location and very quiet surroundings. Only approximately 20 minutes drive to the heart of St. Tropez. Loads of restaurants and bars to choose from. Our expectations were high and they were certainly exceeded. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to go back!
About the host
Hosted by Steve Frobisher
We are a professional couple, with two post-university girls. We live in Twickenham, London, and it has always been our dream to buy a typical Provencal property close to the St Tropez coast.
We think it is an absolutely beautiful area, with so many things to do, in addition to relaxing by the pool.
Why they chose this property
An opportunity arose to buy this traditional farmhouse which is set in 2.5 acres of wooded grounds, secluded yet close to the village and the coast.
We spent 12 months renovating the property, maintaining all the traditional features, yet ensuring that it contained all modern comforts. We are delighted with the result.
The house, incidentally, was previously owned by the celebrated French film director Jean Luc Godard and his wife Anna Karina.
What makes this property unique
As Collette said: 'Whether to go walking or swimming, whether to have a rose or white, whether to have a long day or a long night'.
