Wake up to 180 degrees of unobstructed ocean front view from your own lanai, watch the surfers on the waves, migrating whales (in seasons) & dolphins or spot our resident sea turtles – there is no reason to leave your own piece of paradise.

This recently updated, 2 bed/2bath penthouse has everything that you’d need for a perfect get away. Enjoy top floor view and privacy without having to navigate stairs – this complex has elevator service. Keyless entry means no more worries of losing keys going out to the beach. Other in unit conveniences include Wi-Fi connection, cable TV, bluetooth speaker, air conditioning in living area and in unit washer/dryer.

Guests will enjoy many upgrades made since the unit was acquired by current owners in 2016, they include:

The Big Island is a marvel of diversity that surprises and enchants at every turn, dry and vast one moment, deep green and lush the next. This is the perfect place to explore it from, just a twenty minute drive from the Kona airport. Only one caution: you may have a hard time pulling yourself from the lanai and the mesmerizing sights, sounds and smells it presents!

This condo was absolutely perfect! The location is unbeatable, right on the beach with a top-floor ocean view. The lanai is huge and spans the entire condo; the photos don’t do it justice. We loved leaving the doors open at night to fall asleep to the sound of the waves and enjoyed unforgettable sunsets from the patio loungers.Inside, everything was clean and welcoming. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms gave us plenty of space, and the kitchen was well-equipped. Parking was easy and close to the stairs, and the short drive to downtown made it a great base for exploring Kona.The host was fantastic, clear instructions and quick responses to any questions. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

A beautiful ocean view and very comfortable condo. The elevator was a lifesaver and the kitchen with large refrigerator was very convenient. The church nearby is loud on Sunday mornings at 7, auwe, but the condo is fantastic. Great location and parking. We loved the air conditioning and outdoor lanai. The owner is very responsive. Had a very nice stay here near Kona. Unit was nice and clean. Everything we needed (although seemed somewhat odd not to have any shampoo or bar soap). Used the beach and snorkel gear which was nice to have.

Family Get-A-Way in Paradise

Great condo with spectacular ocean views. Condo was clean and well furnished. The family enjoyed our 10 days in paradise. It was relaxing waking up to the sound of gentle waves crashing onto the lava rocks. Evening sunsets were gorgeous.

Very nice property. Host was very kind and let us check in a bit early. Love having the bedroom next to the crashing waves. A little far from the elevator being on the forth floor. Might think about putting a little shampoo bottle in the bathrooms.

Carolyn and Aart have been married for more than thirty years and have two grown sons. Carolyn is a native of Vietnam and Aart of The Netherlands. Carolyn is a consultant for a large German software company and Aart is a Presbyterian pastor also trained as a counselor. Carolyn likes to bake and travel and Aart likes to write books and be out in nature. They both like kayaking on the ocean although still have to work out who gets to be captain when they do. They enjoy the tropical fruits available on the Big Island and predict that between the two of them, they can keep the fruit orchards in business for a while. Carolyn's favorite are longans and Aart's the local papayas and rambutans. They love the natural diversity of the Big Island and the friendliness of the people and are fascinated by the Hawaiian culture that developed along the Kona Coast.

Why they chose this property

After having lived around a decade in South East Asia & traveled extensively around the world, Aart & Carolyn realize that they have always felt the pull of the tropics and the sea. With their hectic life style, they felt having a place to retreat to & decompress will provide the work life balance they need. They chose the Big Island because of its space, cultural history and natural diversity and the best and most affordable tropical fruits! This condo ticked all their boxes.

What makes this property unique

The view and proximity to the ocean, a location that is close to town yet quiet are among the advantages of Kona Bali Kai. A safe supervised beach for snorkeling (Kahaluu) is also a plus as is the Keauhou shopping center. The unit is quiet and you feel that you are there by yourself. You don't have to go anywhere to have the sights, sounds, smells and feel you're looking for.
