Keswick stay
We went for the festival of light that was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions & Max out in the Lake District Buttermere bounce which was fantastic despite the winds. Perfect location for town centre & out of town walks. Property was perfect in every way.

Very good location but some safety and service issues
My partner and I rented Jill's Cottage, 36 Eskin Street, Keswick, Cumbria, for one week from Saturday 24th October 2020. The property was in an ideal location, with its own parking space. However, there were a number of issues which the owner should address. The following is intended to assist in providing a safer environment and a better service for future customers. • The gas boiler worked but it was disconcerting to see the outer casing appeared to be held together with tape. • The fridge plug was connected to an extension panel immediately next to and slightly below the sink drainer making it very difficult to avoid water draining on to the plug when washing up. • The electric shower didn't work correctly – writing in felt tip pen on the shower unit instructed us not to alter the settings but the water flow from the shower head was very weak - almost a dribble- and some water flowed out of the actual shower unit not the shower head. • The cold tap on the bath did not work – there was no cold water from this tap. • On booking the property, the Home Away website stated that check in was at 3pm and check out by 11am - however before arriving we were informed by the owner that check-in was 4pm and check out by 10am. We assumed the change was designed to provide extra time for Covid related cleaning but found no evidence of this when at the property. • The property was not particularly clean, for instance there was food residue and a hair elastic under the microwave, the window frames were dirty and some of the cutlery hadn’t been properly cleaned with bits of old food stuck on. The kitchen blind was broken and dirty and had to be tied to the window handle to stay up. • The top oven in the cooker didn't work. • There was no light bulb in the ceiling light socket in the second bedroom with twin beds. • Our instructions on arrival were to use the bin kept in the bun store next to the back door. There wasn’t a bin in the bin store when we arrived but there was a green bin next to the kitchen window. We assumed this was the bin for the property but it didn’t have the house number marked on the side to confirm this – and it was three quarters full with garden waste. This bin, which we used for the first few days, disappeared sometime on the Tuesday. We looked for it but couldn’t find it and had to dispose of household waste our ourselves after this for the remainder of the week. We left a note for the cleaner and owner explaining.

Lovely break away in Keswick
Property comfortable and clean. However, in my personal opinion it is a bit small for four adults to share and a dog. My parents were joining us on holiday but decided last minute not to go due to the C19 pandemic. I think it was a good decision. We did need to speak to the owner regarding the noise from the oven and I think this was appreciated and will be looked into for future guests. I have stayed in better accommodation in Keswick and for less money. Having said that it is in a good location with convenient car parking. We had fabulous weather for October so had a wonderful week and felt some form of normality.

Great Location with the Bonus of Parking
Great little property in an excellent location, spotlessly clean with everything you need for a short stay. Would certainly recommend this house if you want to be close to the centre of Keswick. The parking space is a real bonus as on street parking can be tricky when its busy.

Weekend Break
Just returned from a 3 nights stay at this cottage. 2 mins away from town centre and 5 mins from the lake. Everything about this property was brilliant so clean and bright lovely kitchen to comfy beds. Would definitely stay here again as this property is dog friendly so our little dog can come with us again. Thanks Jill

We love the Lake District and Keswick in particular. The stunning beauty of the area is very very special. We have visited many places in the world but the Lake District is somewhere we have wanted to return to time and time again. The scenery is stunning, we have enjoyed exploring various walks and have progressed in difficulty in our walks starting with Latrigg, then Walla Crag and then last weekend we walked up Catbells. The views were breathtaking and we had a fantastic day despite falling in a puddle on the way down! We bought this house in December 2013 and spent the next 3 months refurbishing it. We are really pleased with the result and so are the guests who have visited the house to date. We hope that you will visit and enjoy both the house and the area as much as we do.

What makes this property unique

The house is in a very central part of Keswick. a few minutes walk to the Town Centre, Lake and local parks.
The outdoor area has an eating area with lovely views of Latrigg.

The house has exceptional parking facilities enough fro 2\3 cars or a car and a boat. It is therefore ideal to use this house as a base to explore the surrounding area without worrying about a parking space on your return.
