About this property
Modern Townhouse In Fowey, Cornwall, England
Dating from the 1880s, this recently fully refurbished townhouse combines a superb location in the centre of Fowey with spacious living arrangements. The property has been tastefully and thoughtfully decorated throughout with flagstones on the ground floor and original wooden floors, staircases and bannisters as you head upwards. Each room has its own individual character, giving the house a boutique feel, from the featured modern stained glass window downstairs to the industrial light fittings in many of the bedrooms and the exposed beams in the master suite.
The three-storey property is on Fowey's main street, just a few steps from the quay with its shops, ferry to Polruan, restaurants and pubs. It is also a perfect jumping-off point for trips further afield, whether to access Cornwall's beautiful coasts or visit attractions such as the Eden Project or the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
The house has much to offer, whether for couples looking for a relaxed getaway, walkers and dog owners seeking an escape after a hard day on the Cornish cliffs, or families running straight into the downstairs shower room to wipe away the sand from a day on the beach surfing and making sand castles.
The house has central heating, underfloor heating in the main bathroom and kitchen and a wood burning stove in the lounge. Logs are provided for your first fire - perfect for snuggling up on those chilly winter nights.
Good Wi-Fi throughout the property makes planning trips easy and means teenagers needn't fear they'll be cut off from Facebook!
By arrangement only, 1 x well behaved dog welcome downstairs at a small additional charge.

Beautiful house with everything you need. Comfy beds, luxury towels, 3 bathrooms. We enjoyed the garden terrace overlooking the estuary, and the easy access to everything in Fowey. Great location to explore. Excellent communication and help from the host. Thank you!
This was our third visit to Mastview and it was as good as ever. The property was perfect for our group of 8 adults with with lots of space for everyone, both indoors and on the decked terrace which was great for breakfast, morning coffee and afternoon tea. Mastview is in a perfect location with Fowey’s great range of shops, pubs and restaurants within a very short walk, together with lots of public car parking. Highly recommended.
We had a lovely time, we've stayed several times before and always enjoy it. We have one complaint though - there are too many cushions on the beds - they just have to be stacked on the chairs leaving no room to sit on the chairs! One decorative cushion (or none) would be fine! Sorry!

Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and always good to have repeat guests. The same cushions have always been on the beds as per the photos. Happy to remove them for you next time, just let us know from which rooms.
The house is absolutely lovely. Really well appointed with easily enough living space (and bathrooms) for two families with teenagers.
The location was ideal for exploring Fowey - don’t expect parking close by so you’ll need to carry luggage to the property- but that is the same for almost every place in the town. Great comms from our host and even a welcome card. Thanks
Beautiful house in a great location, something for all ages in our party. Well equipped and comfortable, we will definitely be back.
Finally a property with full size bath towels and enough crockery and cutlery you can justify putting the dishwasher on!!
Couldn’t get a parking space a couple of times in the car park we had a permit for but parking options made really clear in the advert so we expected it.
Really beautifully decorated & well appointed. Perfect for the town and less than a mile walk to Readymoney cove.
On the downside, it was far too warm when we arrived - the heating was set to 27.5 & took an age to cool down when we turned it off.
Also the 9am checkout (after a 5pm check in) is a little early, especially as you’re expected to strip the beds. A ‘Friday to Friday’ break becomes Saturday to Thursday in reality unfortunately.

Hi Laura Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that the heating was on too high. It should never be set to 27.5 so clearly an error when cleaning the thermostat! When booking in 2023 it was stated 5pm/9am but your arrival details offered an earlier arrival of 3pm and we have now returned to the standard 4.30pm/10am check in/out times in Fowey, maybe you missed this?
Such a great property, the location was perfect for exploring Fowey, eary to walk into town and then pop down again later on. The kitchen was very well equipped, it made it very easy to cook for a large group. The bedrooms were perfect for 8 guests and worked well as a large family, but would be also perfect for two families with a floor each. The views from the Master bedroom and the decking were lovely if only the weather had been kinder, but we did get to see the largest cruise ship. Having a woodburning in the property adds to the cosy feel, and although summer we did actually light it once! There is also well thought out lighting through the house and some beautiful funishings in the two main double bedrooms. It was a great property, in a great location and we had a great week, would recommend to anyone.
Our only feedback would be that as a party of 8 adults, the dining table was perfect, but the main comfortable seating area just didn't sit 8 of us comfortably, we felt a very large L shape sofa would be more accommodating, to avoid the bun fight in the evenings for the 5 sofa positions!

Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you for your feedback on the sofa's. Will let the owners know. Many thanks
We've stayed here before and enjoyed it just as much this time, except for all the Covid notices. It is known that Covid is transmitted face to face not on surfaces, so that was all a bit irritating! Also a small bin is needed for rubbish and 'recycling' needs to be written on the big pedal bin, we were confused by the notice!

Thank you for your feedback and glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and have recently returned At the time we were following government guidlines on Covid - these have since been removed. Rubbish and recycling is now straightforward - all recycling in green bags, non recycling in kitchen pedal bin.
We stayed at mast view with our 3 children and my parents. The property is beautiful. Quality furnishings and great use of space.
The house was spotlessly clean. The kitchen is really well equipped,The beds are really comfy and it provided us with a great base for our stay in Fowey.
The host was extremely helpful and ensured everything ran smoothly for us. The Easter eggs on arrival for our children was such a lovely touch.
We would definitely recommend this property.
This property provided us with the perfect base for our weekend of celebrations in Fowey. The accommodation is convenient, comfortable and cosy and I can’t fault it. Thank you to the host for everything.
Property is in a great central location , very clean and equipped with everything you need . Andrea is an excellent host , any queries were answered promptly
Super house, ideally located in Fowey and close to the local shops, restaurants and amenities. The house had wonderful views over the estuary from the upper floors and outside deck/roof garden. Well presented, comfortable and stylish, considered furniture to create a wonderful Cornish escape. We will return!
This property was immaculate. Our stay was during COVID and we had no issues at all about the cleanliness of the property. It was extremely well catered for, everything you could need for a stay with the family.
We had a fantastic time. Thank you

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Its always great to hear that our guests have enjoyed their stay, especially in the current situation and that our hard work is appreciated. Thank you also looking after Mastview so well, hopefully we will see you again sometime soon!
Excellent property in every way
Great location, well equipped, very clean, Good size, nice outside seating area etc
with just a few small ‘niggles’ which need sorting:
Upstairs Back door to Outside seating area doesn’t lock and no bolt on door
Smoke detector in kitchen is too close to cooker so sets off every time anything is on The grill, Even with the extractor fan on full And It is really loud And takes ages to reset
Buttons on extractor fan also don’t work properly
Sink in en-suite bathroom takes ages to drain so not very nice

Hi Martin Thank you for taking the time to write a review for Mastview and we're glad that you liked it and enjoyed your stay. The niggles have been addressed immediately upon receipt of your review. We welcome feedback as this is one of the ways we can improve. We also have a feedback form in the housebook for guests to complete during their stay and a section asking that guests contact us straightaway if there is anything that may affect our incoming guests - such as the broken door key for the back door and the extractor fan buttons not staying in - a replacement has been ordered for these and a locksmith called out to repair the broken door key. Had we been aware of some of these niggles during your stay we would have been able to fix some of them straight away. The fire alarm is heat sensitive and I would suspect was set off because the extractor fan buttons weren't functioning properly and maybe the window wasn't open - The ensuite sink has also been unblocked. All is now well !
Great location a few minutes from Fowey centre, an extremely well fitted house with excellent appliances, comfortable beds and immaculate linen . Kitchen well equipped for all needs.
We enjoyed a splendid holiday....despite the weather!
Another fantastic stay at Mast View. Great location and just like returning home !

The house was as described on line and was very comfortable
We love visiting Fowey and this house was right in the middle of the town so it was easy to visit shops and cafes etc. The weather was quite cold however when we were there and as the heating only cane on early morning and after six in the evening it was sometimes cold in the day.

Hi Anne
So good to hear that you had a lovely time in Mastview and you found it as described, comfortable and a great location.
We do wish you had let us know that the heating timer did not suit your needs as its a quick fix with a thermostat in the lounge or a change to the boiler controls and the radiators can be turned up if needed.
We usually find that the bag of logs provided for the log burner also adds to the warmth & cosiness if guests need a little more. You never know what the weather is going to bring, The week before last we were enjoying 15/18*! Lets hope there's more of that to come!

Clean, comfortable, well positioned and homely
We had a lovely week at this cottage, the weather was kind and the house was warm, clean and welcoming. Ideally positioned in Fowey for access to the beaches, pubs, restaurants and fudge shops. The bedrooms where well furnished and the beds themselves very comfortable. Would certainly recommend. Many thanks.

Lovely spot,
Went to stay here for 3 nights. We have to say it was perfect for what we wanted. Nice and close to the centre of Fowey with it lovely pubs a restaurants. The house was spotless and had everything we needed, the beds were nice and comfy and it was really quiet. The only downside is parking, there are 2 car parks one by the ferry and one further on, both cost about £6.50 for 24 hours, both are a good hike from the house. There is only one road in and we had to offload the car quickly in the hope that another car didn't come round. That said it is a small inconvenience as once you are there everything is within walking distance. A very enjoyable weekend away we will be going back again.

We feel an emotional connection to Fowey having visited for many years - in fact we held our wedding celebrations at the Fowey Hotel. Soon after, we fell in love with this unspoilt Cornish gem with a bustling harbour and a picturesque estuary. It's a wonderful and relaxing place - with great food, drink and pasties! - and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
The property is managed for us by Andrea, who lives in Fowey so is on hand for any problems.
