Cozy Cottage in the center of The Golden Circle

A beautiful and cozy cottage located between the two lakes, Apavatn and Laugarvatn.
In the nearest area is the top tourist attraction in Iceland, “The Golden Circle“, with one of the stops, World Heritage Site Thingvellir, only a 20-minute drive away, and two other stops, the world famous Geysir hot spring and the Gullfoss waterfall less than 60-minute drive away. 7 kilometers away you will find the old school village Laugarvatn, situated at the lake. Home of the famous natural steam bath Fontana.
Within easy driving distance: Numerous luxurious geothermal open-air swimming pools (spas) and golf courses. 15 kilometers away you will find Selfoss, the largest town in Southern Iceland. There, you can do all your shopping, go swimming, or visit cafés or restaurants.
You will also find three of the highlights of popular South Coast day tours, Seljalandsfoss (86km)– the waterfall that you can walk behind, majestic Skógafoss waterfall(114km), as well as the black beach at Reynisfjara close to the small village Vík (145km).

Delightful Cottage

The Cottage was a wonderful place to return to after a day of exploring. Sitting in the hot tub and watching the Aurora was one of the highlights of the trip.

Great Little Cabin In the Center of the Golden Circle

Very nice location that is literally centrally located to Geysir-Gullfoss, Pingvellir National Park, Reykholt, and Selfoss area. The highlight was the Hot River in Hverigardi. Enjoyed the hot tub daily! Would stay again for sure.

Perfect location

The h ouse was in the perfect location on the Golden Circle. Easy access to all things. One of the cleanest rentals we've ever stayed in. Well stocked and perfect for two couples.

Wonderful

We had a wonderful holiday in one of the most beautiful houses that we rented here, in beautiful surroundings. It is very lovingly furnished and we immediately felt at home. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, thank you very much.

Lovely Place

It was clean and quaint, with a great location to use for visiting the Golden Circle. It was quiet but did not feel too isolated and had all the little amenities that made the stay comfortable. The hot water has a smell of sulphur because it is coming from a natural hot spring, so if you can handle that you will love the place!

Beautiful, cozy cottage

The property owners were amazing, and promptly responded to all communications. The cabin was cozy and beautiful, and was surrounded by numerous activities and sightseeing locations. We would definitely love to return!

Cozy Cottage

The cottage was the perfect home away from home! It was very clean and provided everything we needed for our visit. We even saw the northern lights from the hot tub! Karl had great communication and was the ideal host. If you are considering booking, we would highly recommend!

Quite comfortable!

The cottage is well equipped, comfortable, and clean. Check-in was a little cumbersome because we needed to stop at the owner’s home to pick up the key and bedding. But it was a pleasant stay and convenient location.

Great stay in remote cottage!

Karl and his wife were very accommodating—there was a problem with the original property we booked with them, so they offered us a bigger and nicer cottage for the same price. It was in a very remote area, which we loved. Very cozy, and the hot tub was lovely. Communication was great as well. Thanks very much!!

Perfect cozy cabin in Golden Circle

We so enjoyed our stay at Karl’s place. It was a perfect size for our family of six and we loved how well constructed and maintained we found this private little cabin in the Woods. We found it was stocked with everything that we needed and Karl went out of his way to provide detailed instructions and plan ahead for everything. The slight sulfur smell from the water honestly just added to the experience and charm. We felt like we got the authentic Icelandic / Golden Circle experience while staying here.

Stunning cottage

These were great holidays in a stunning cottage. The location is perfect for wonderful days all around the golden circle. You can reach everything from there in a comfortable distance to spend a relaxed time at some of the beauties of Iceland. Our hosts Jona and Karl were as helpful as possible, answered all our questions during and before our stay in shortest possible time. The cottage was cozy, and we missed nothing. We'd love to come back one day, because we definitely have to catch up on using the tub, which we missed this time.

Sweet cottage

We had a lovely stay at this cottage. Very comfortable, in a great location to visit the Golden Circle and Southern Iceland. The cottage is very clean and organized and well equipped with thoughtful touches. Karl and Jona were very communicative hosts. We enjoyed having so much privacy with the location of the cottage, but we recommend picking up groceries before you head out here. We also recommend visiting the thermal baths at Fontana ( a 5 min drive). Much less crowded than the Blue Lagoon and a fraction of the price! We will definitely book this cottage again

Sweet little cabin

We had a really nice week in this property. Karl and Jona are very nice people and everything went very well. The location is really very good. Lots of sights in the immediate vicinity. After our exploration tours on the "Golden Circle" we always liked to come back here to relax in the hot tub...it takes a little getting used to that the hot water "smells" a bit (sulphur)... but it wasn't Problem. We can recommend the property unreservedly. Thanks again to Karl and Jona!

Gemütliches Cottages in guter Lage

Das Cottage hält alles bereit, was man für einen unbeschwerten Urlaub benötigt. Es befindet sich mitten in der Natur und bietet eine gute Ausgangslage für Tagesausflüge um den Golden Circle zu erkunden oder Ausflüge in Richtung Vik und Reykjavik zu unternehmen. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Au top pour les environs

Petit chalet très confortable avec une bonne literie. Bien placé pour les visites classiques des environs. Très bon dialogue avec Karl. Le seul petit bémol sans importance…..faire à manger sur les plaques de cuisson s’avère long….très long. Je recommande cette mignonne location sans hésiter.
