HEATING: A passive heating system using thermal/solar panels heats the home throughout the day & well into the night -if it gets to warm, open windows, vents & doors to let in the ocean breeze cool the house. There's a wood stove in the living room - the main heat source in the winter. The upstairs bedroom has a baseboard heater, the downstairs uses space heaters.
- Wood Stove Directions: Please be sure to bring wood and kindling w/you as we do not provide it. Wood can be purchased at the Dillon Beach Store or Tomales General Store
-6 Person Max - Day or Night -NO PARTIES - NO drop-in guests - We are in a Private Community w/an HOA/Security

A beautiful home in a beautiful location. Highly recommend. The kids loved watching the ocean and wildlife through the great big windows. We saw rabbits, deer, an owl and more. Lots of room for all of us to stretch out and get comfortable.

Beautiful views but the house has a lot of deferred maintenance. A mixed bag on this home. Ocean homes get so much weather abuse and has to be kept up all the time. This has not been done. The beds were old and uncomfortable. The whole house needed updating. Windows were old some broken and most could not be opened. Hot tub was nice and pretty new. If you want a home with an ocean view, short drive to a doggie beach this is a good escape. We made the best of our time but would not return.

We walked into the house and we were so surprised by the beautiful views and the cleanliness. We spent four nights in this beautiful home with beautiful views celebrating our anniversary. We relax and enjoyed ourselves immensely! Thank you so much!

Unique home with a gorgeous view!

This home worked perfectly for our family of five plus our four legged boy! The main bedroom was upstairs and the other was downstairs with a pool table, tv, and plenty of movies and entertainment. Plenty of board games too! We drove down to the public beach and enjoyed the tide pools! I grew up coming here so Dillon Beach has a,ways been a magical place for me!

Gorgeous Views!

We love this home and this is our second stay. It always stuns us when we walk through the front door and are greeting by the amazing views of the ocean and Tamales Bay. The only negative comments are: 1) The closet doors in the downstairs bedrooms are loose and swing inward and are difficult to manage. 2) The coffee pot leaked a couple of times. Otherwise everything was perfect and we can't wait to return!!

Lovely stay

We only had a few days at the Abalone Alcove, and they were lovely. Beautiful views of the ocean and bay. Would love to spend more time here. The home is a bit dated, but very comfortable & clean. Owner provides a parking pass to reach the beach area. We cooked and grilled and owners provided everything we needed for that. FYI, shop before arriving, as there is very little nearby that would equal a full on grocery. Easy day trips to vineyards and oceanside. Look forward to returning.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a really great home. It’s super cozy and the view is stunning. The visits by the deer really made it special. It’s a nice layout where the kitchen & main bedroom are on the floor where you enter. Our older dog couldn’t use the stairs. They’re a little steeper than normal. The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is because I had a very negative experience with the management company. I received an email at 4pm on our arrival day which I didn’t see until 10pm. The email said that there would be road paving the following day. The email & attached map was so unclear that it looked as if we might be stuck inside the house for the week. I impatiently waited until 8am the following day to call the emergency # to find they had no one I could talk to. It ended up we were ONLY stuck inside the first full day we were there. It was a very stressful. I understand things happen and they didn’t know the HOA was paving. It worked ok to stay in that day. I’m really surprised I never got a follow apology or call. I also never requested compensation. Just disappointing.

Dillon Beach Abalone Alcove

The house is decent, and the view is beautiful. The bed on the top floor is a rock. There was no mention of a washer/dyer being unavailable and in the guest info, it said to use only if absolutely necessary however there was no access. There are a few things that could use repairs. I will bring this up to the property management. I don’t personally love all the rules of Dillon Beach. I think if you want to have a family gathering it should be permitted. I probably would not stay here again for that reason.

Only sleeps 4, not 6 - sofa bed broken! No refund!

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We could deal with the mustiness, the broken oven, and the lukewarm green hot tub, but the fact that this was listed as sleeping for 6 people is a farce! The pullout bed was completely unsafe to use, and my poor husband had to sleep on the floor. We asked for a refund, was told that we would get one, and after several emails, it was never received. I am working with the credit card company to get this back, but overall, it has been a waste of time and money. There are better properties to stay at. Beware!

Easily the best stocked beach home I have ever visited. There were so many wonderful little surprises and extras … the dishes and ability to make utterly anything that came to mind was truly appreciated. The property was clean, lovely floor plan with enough space for everyone and then some! We absolutely loved our visit to Dillon Beach!

There were some problems with windows and how hot the house was with minimal fresh air. Problem with parking pass. Views were amazing and since I was at the beach most of the time, it was ok. Won't be back there again. Prefer a property closer to the ocean.

I was looking for a place to just unwind and relax from the constant everyday worries and stresses. I wasn’t sure what foods to bring and what I would be able to prepare meals with but this place has it all. Once I arrived I saw I had nothing to worthy about I went out to the chairs in the back with a beverage and watched a beautiful sunset followed by my first of many times in the spa. There is a picture of the few from the living room couch that doesn’t express enough how nice it was to sit on the couch in the morning with my coffee and see that few without any obstructions at all. I recommend this place for anyone who is looking to get away, plenty of enjoyment for a family as well

The views did it.

We went during the Winter and it was cold for us. It took us a minute to get the heaters figured out but they worked well once we did. The upstairs bed is very firm and downstairs bed medium in case that is important to anyone. I have a hard time on firm mattresses so ended up on the couch. They’re steep streets if you’re planning on walking around or to the beach but thankfully there is a parking pass included to park near an access trail. Tons of deer traveling through which was nice to see so you’ll need to be mindful of ticks on your pup. The views out the dining and living rooms are beautiful and made staying inside worthwhile.

Amazing escape!

We came up for a birthday weekend in the fall. The house is so cozy and comfortable. The views are to die for. We kayaked in Bodega Bay and used the concierge service to hire a paella chef who came to the house. The hot tub is fantastic and much needed. The teens took the downstairs level with their own bathroom, bedrooms, living room and pool table. We drove to do our beach walk but you could walk it if you are okay with hills. We can’t wait to stay here again.
