Effortlessly relaxed, The Old Butcher's Shop is a luxury detached open-plan two double bedroom, two en-suite barn conversion featuring exposed oak beams and lofty ceilings. Original features complement the retro style furnishings and individual flair that the owners have cleverly introduced into this bespoke conversion. Located in the centre of the coastal village of Heacham, this hideaway is within easy walking distance of the beach, shops and pubs/restaurants.
If romance and privacy are high on your list, then this gorgeously rustic luxury self-catering abode, located in the bustling little coastal village of Heacham on the North West Norfolk coast, might just be what you've been looking for. Formerly the old stores which served the old butcher's shop, this stylish property has been in the same family for the last 100 years. Having been painstakingly restored, it has been transformed into a stunning retreat, quietly tucked away, but within easy walking distance of amenities, pubs, restaurants and two beaches.
Ideal for one or two couples or a small family wanting a relaxing weekend or longer holiday to explore and indulge in the captivating North Norfolk coast, this hideaway has two en suite bedrooms, each with private access to two separate courtyard gardens. The large open-plan kitchen/dining/living room is perfect for socialising and preparing supper, before retiring to one of the two reception areas to watch television or snuggle down in front of the cosy wood burning stove. With two reception rooms to relax in and two large bedrooms with sumptuous linens, your dreams promise to be sweet ones too. The Old Butcher's Stores offers parking in a gated private courtyard for up to two cars.
On sunny days, relax in one of two courtyard gardens, as you read the newspapers and chill-out with a coffee to plan a busy day of exploring the coast. Head to The Norfolk Deli in neighbouring Hunstanton, or to the Thornham Deli, to stock up on picnic provisions before hitting the beach!
Heacham has many footpaths to discover, and a great beach side promenade that stretches all the way to the iconic carrstone cliffs of neighbouring Hunstanton. Look out for popular Bordoli's pizza truck that visits the village on a Wednesday evening, and be sure to sample the gooiest of treats from Breakfast and Brownies on the high street. There is also a great antiques shop and cafe to be found next to the Tesco Express. For a larger supermarket, Lidl is located on on the road to Snettisham, and there is a big Tescos in Hunstanton, which also has EV chargers in the car park and a fuel station. For a special culinary experience, head inland to the village of Docking to sample the delights of the Nest Farmhouse, run by a Michelin star award winning team, or head further along the coast from Heacham to Old Hunstanton to find Michelin restaurant, The Neptune.

The butchers store was a last minute booking for us and upon arrival, we found it ticked all boxes. The property feels very fresh and has most of the accoutrements you would find in your own house. It is in a great location for exploring the Norfolk coast and other tourist spots.
I would recommend it to anyone and it will comfortably accommodate 4 adults.
Very well equipped. Showers are excellent. Fridge, cooker all lovely and clean and plenty of room for cooking and keeping items fresh in the fridge. Was lovely to be able to sit outside in sheltered walled garden, not overlooked to sit at table with family with snacks and cold drink.
The owners have spared no expense with this property. It's absolutely stunning and all the little touches to the decor made it. The shower in the bathroom was amazing and the beds are super comfy.
The location of the property is in quiet Heacham and only a few minute walk to tesco for groceries. There are so many attractions nearby and its great just to walk around the actual little town, which is so pretty.
I didn't want to leave the property and would love to stay there again.
I've even taken pictures of the kitchen as want to update my kitchen like theirs! I loved it that much :)

Home from home
We had a lovely relaxing stay. The accommodation was very warm comfy and quiet everything you needed for a home from home experience. It is easy to get to lots of places from here, we used the local bus service to go to Wells. You can get to Sandringham by bus also if you want to have a break from driving.

Beautiful Home from Home
What a lovely cottage! We felt right at home the moment we walked through the door.
Beautifully designed, tastefully decorated and just enough of the fabric of the original building left to give great character to the cottage.
Everything we could have wished for and more!

Weekend Away
Me and my partner had a last minute change of travel plans due to Coronavirus. So we decided to come to Norfolk for the weekend and it did not disappoint. The Butchers Store is incredible, amazing design inside and out. We didn't want to leave! We will definitely be returning.
Thank you so much for having us.

Great place to stay with good access to places to visit. Beach cafe at Old Hunstanton is outstanding. My only complaint is the grills on the outside of the bathroom extractors were very noisy. I know it was windy but a fixed grill, like the kitchen extractor would be much better.
Directions good but the entrance is Heacham Butchers not The Old Butcher’s. Bit confusing, especially in the dark!

Good morning and many thanks for your feedback following your stay at The Old Butchers Stores.
We truly appreciate your comments as if we are not made aware then we are unable to action anything for future guests. Will have already adjusted the arrival information following your confusion in the dark and I have passed on your thoughts on the extractors for the bathrooms.
Best wishes and we hope to welcome you back to Norfolk in the future.

Excellent!!
What a beautiful cottage! Located fantastically just off the highway street but tucked away quietly.
The courtyard on entry is lovely and there is another one too!
The layout is fantastic, open plan but with a cozy feel.
Two en-suite bedrooms and very warm from the underfloor heating but also a log burner too!
The biscuits were a lovely touch and milk in the fridge in arrival.
No expense has been spared. Lovely rustic touches throughout.
Comfy beds, quality towels and wonderful showers. I think the bedrooms need a small wardrobe each rather than wall pegs but really that isn’t even a negative for this cottage.
Only 1 mile from the beach, local Tesco, Lidl, chippy, pubs and takeaways, the Lavender Farm is only up the road offering great food too.
Loved this place and we will go back!!

Perfect first family holiday
As new parents this year, we were nervous about travelling with a Baby . This property took all our worries away and became a home from home. Family friendly, yet still luxurious, and perfect location to attractions to entertain our little one.

Cannot praise the cottage enough. A beautiful mixture of old and new decoration and a great sense of space.
Everything we needed for a restful holiday. Lovely bakery just up the road for great fresh bread and cakes. Also very good fish and chip shop about five minutes away.

A beautiful restaoration in a great location for visiting all Norfolk has to offer.
This property is of an exceptionally high standard and the owners have given great thought to the layout and making sure you have everything you need to enjoy a relaxing break. We loved returning to the property after a day of exploring. We were within a short drive of Sandringham, Wells next the Sea ( which is a stunning beach) and just an hours drive to Norwich city centre. We cannot recommend this property enough as a base in Norfolk. We will definitely be booking again.

Gorgeous holiday cottage
This cottage has been designed beautifully and has everything you could possibly want. All the kitchen equipment is great and of very high quality. The property is private and self contained behind walls, and we had super weather. This meant that we could open up the bi fold doors in both the living area and the lounge, and bring the outside in. It was smashing. So much to do in the local area around, with Norfolk Lavender just across the road, and Sandringham estate, Hunstanton and Heacham beaches.

A great place to stay
The Old Butcher’s Stores is a great place to stay: clearly, there’s a lot of thought gone into creating this lovely holiday home. It’s got a lot going from it: beautifully decorated & furnished, really well appointed - a great place to stay in any weather. Heacham is a large village with some facilities in easy reach of the wonderful North Norfolk coast.
