NEW HOMEOWNERS
Peacefully situated in the West Lyn Valley and surrounded by the natural splendour of Exmoor, this spacious country retreat has gorgeous exposed beams, a vaulted ceiling and a mezzanine bedroom. Located just half a mile from the pretty hamlet of Barbrook and 2 miles to the renowned coastal village of Lynton, this cottage has been carefully converted from an original barn.
The cottage has been furnished and equipped to a high standard and provides a very comfortable holiday base. Entering through large, glazed doors, you are welcomed by a spacious open-plan living area with a high vaulted ceiling. Comfortable leather seating provides ample space for lounging in front of the wood burner-effect electric fire after an active day and a large kitchen and dining area has all you will need should you decide to dine in. A staircase leads up to a mezzanine floor which offers a king bedroom. This is open to the high vaulted ceiling and has a balustrade overlooking the living room below. A shower room is also on this level. Two further bedrooms can be found on the lower-ground floor, a king-size with an en-suite and a twin served by a family bathroom. The cottage has its own patio and an enclosed garden, with a gas BBQ for relaxed al fresco dining.
Located on a quiet country lane that leads directly onto open moorland and with easy access to dramatic coastal and riverside walks, this is a haven for walkers and nature lovers. The famous twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth are connected by the unique water-powered cliff railway and offer a wonderful selection of individual shops, cafes and restaurants, and the picturesque harbour and rock and shingle beach at Lynmouth have stunning views of high cliffs that tumble down to the sea. Plenty of activities are available locally including horse riding, fishing, tennis, bowls and even star gazing as Exmoor is a designated ‘Dark Sky’ area! For those who wish to venture further afield, there are many local attractions including the Doone Valley (7.5 miles), Porlock Weir (12.5 miles) and Watersmeet (4 miles), and the beautiful sandy surfing beaches of the Golden Coast around Woolacombe and Croyde are within 24 miles.
Please note: Due to the gravel paths, steps and stairs the property is not suitable for people with mobility issues.
