If you’re looking for a beautiful, restful retreat off the beaten path, this is it. Friendly, hospitable and informative hosts. Clean, quiet, comfortable, and amazingly well stocked. The perfect place for an individual or couple to escape the rat race.

Thank you Frances. We all need a place to relax, listen to Birdsong and wonder aimlessly along a beach or through a great Indi book store.
My second time to stay at Birdsong . Convenient location and scenic landscape. Friendly hosts . We loved the changing of the leaves. Fall foliage was breaktaking .
Birdsong is aptly named. The property is in a lovely setting on wooded acres, and the birds are singing all around. The feel of the space is even more spacious than the photos suggest. The unit is stocked with almost anything you might want, and on arrival you will be greeted with coffee and breakfast supplies, plus a bottle of both red and white wine. The location is very convenient to Madison, Hammonasset State Park, all along the shoreline and even to New Haven. Kathleen and Dean are helpful, gracious hosts. It is altogether a perfect setting for a relaxing stay.A couple of things you might want to know when deciding if it is the perfect place for you:-the mattress is very firm- while the WiFi is sometimes perfectly adequate for emailing and internet searches, it can be spotty and sometimes is too slow to be helpful and occasionally drops out completely. This is likely not the fault of the owners; that area can be tough for internet access- the apartment is beautifully light due to all of the windows and skylights, but there are no blinds or curtains so in the summer it will be light at sunrise.

We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay.
Regarding the internet service, we had recently switched providers and were hopeful this company would be an improvement. Unfortunately, we have been disappointed as well and are currently exploring other options.
During the summer months, the longer daylight hours provide an abundance of natural light. If the early morning sunlight tends to wake you, an eye mask may help make your stay more comfortable.
This property is just as it is listed. Beautiful property and accommodations. We enjoyed our stay. Kathleen and Dean go above and beyond as hosts! Will definitely stay again if we're in the area.

Thank you Sherry. We try to anticipate what people might need to be comfortable and able to cook their own meals instead of having to eat out every night.

We had a fantastic stay at Birdsong. The property had it all. Tranquil setting, great space and all amenities needed. Kathleen and Dean went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
Beautiful and spotless. Birdsong is aptly named. The spot is perfect for aa couple. We enjoyed the well appointed set up. Our hosts were welcoming. We'd love to stay again, if the opportunity presents.
Birdsong is a wonderful apartment, very well appointed, and the owners have been very welcoming and gracious during my stay. I am looking forward to another stay here when I will be back in the area.

Terrific hosts that have a wonderful, well appointed place to relax and enjoy. The walkway to the font door is like walking through a forest that included a waterfall with a Koi pond. Anything we needed was available to us throughout Birdsong! Would definitely recommend!!!

Tucked away yet not far from town, Birdsong is a real gem. A path welcomes you from the parking area as it winds past a small waterfall & fish pond to a beautiful patio with table, umbrella & chairs. Once inside you'll find everything you need bathed in the ample natural light & under the cathedral ceilings. Kathleen & Dean are caring, generous hosts, also real gems.
Birdsong was a great place to relax and unwind in a quiet wooded setting. The apartment was just as pictured on VRBO - immaculately maintained and nicely decorated. Our hosts were both very thoughtful and welcoming. We would definitely stay there again.

Thank you Nancy. You were able to see a changing of the seasons and the trees turning color and then the leaves raining down to the ground. Even with all of this activity, Birdsong, nestled amount trees, is peaceful and relaxing. We are glad you were able to experience this tranquility and we look forward to seeing you again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Birdsong. Kathleen and her husband were fantastic hosts. Everything was as advertised, clean and neat with all the essentials including two complementary bottles of wine. We will definitely stay again when visiting CT. -Angelo
Perfect in every way! The hosts met us with milk, bagels, cream cheese, butter, coffee and 2 bottles of wine, along with fresh flowers and a lovely card for our anniversary. They thought of EVERYTHING to make our stay 5+++ in every way! We can't wait to come back!
