Nice quiet location

Nice little two up two down converted and modernised. Galley kitchen worked well for minimum cooking though plenty of equipment if need to. Mattresses too soft for us but that’s a personal issue lovely and quiet and excellent view of the sea

Lovely stay

We had a nice stay at pebble cottage. There is room for improvement from the ‘cleanliness’ and ‘comfort’ aspect. A few hairs were found throughout the property (wardrobe, bed, bathroom), dirt in the upstairs carpet and left over clothing tags and a girls vest in the wardrobe. Lack of shower curtain in the bathroom meant the floor got very wet when showering. The bed in the main bedroom was quite small and the sofa quite uncomfortable in the living room. The location is nice with a view of the sea. Walking down to Ventnor beach was nice and walking to the botanic gardens was a lovely long walk for the mornings. Although a few issues were noted, I would visit again.

Lovely Town within walking distance

Lovely little cottage everything you need for a comfortable stay, very quiet. We parked in the wheelers car park. Walk down to the sea is down steps and about 10 minutes walk along to the main beach with a few cafes and restaurants. Overall very comfortable and nice to be able to walk to a tesco and a few shops.

Lovely sea view, standard accommodation

We have just stayed at Pebble Cottage for a week. The good points were, a lovely sea view with plenty of seating area, and a great location close to beach and shops. The not so good points, no character to the cottage, the kitchen is small and not well designed as you can’t open the dishwasher fully to load it with where it’s positioned. The bathroom is modern but again not well designed, the sink position mean water spills out, and the shower screen is small so easy to get the floor wet. The Cottage was fully equipped with everything needed. It’s a shame there was no complimentary milk, tea and coffee on arrival, this can make all the difference. We were lucky with parking and managed to find spaces on the street. No major issues but not the most comfortable or well decorated property we have stayed in.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the cottage’s décor and layout did not suit your personal tastes. We deliberately chose a bright, minimalist aesthetic with white walls and no artwork to create a clean, uncluttered space which is accurately shown in our listing photographs. We are sorry for any disappointment caused regarding the lack of hot drinks and milk. As our cottage is an independent, self- catering property, we do not provide food or drinks. However, we appreciate your feedback and will speak to our agents about how we can make this clearer in our listing or their pre arrival pack. We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with the dishwasher, bathroom sink and shower. Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. Regarding the layout, we want to reassure future guests that the dishwasher is accessible through we are reviewing the space to see if the opening angle could be improved. Our bathroom features a combined shower screen and curtain set up to maximise splash protection in a compact area. While out bathroom sink is a standard basin designed to prevent spills, we are sorry to hear you experienced splashing during your stay. We always want our guests to love their stay and we appreciate you helping us identify areas where we could refine our cottage. We invite future guests to also read our recent reviews on Airbnb where our cottage has received more favourable ratings.

Great stay at Pebble Cottage

Pebble Cottage was very clean and well equipped. Good washer and oven. Lovely sea view from the main bedroom and a nice big wardrobe. All the beds were really comfy. Good shower and hot water, could do with a blind up at the bathroom window. The patio with table and chairs is perfect for eating out with a sea view. We had a fantastic holiday here and travelled all around the Island. The kids didn't want to leave. Would be better if there was a parking space Infront of the house instead of walking up the steps from the car park.

Ok place to stay

This could be fantastic holiday accommodation if some love was put into it. It’s basic and doesn’t have any homely touches, not a single picture on the wall, 1 lamp in the whole house, everywhere just has spot lights making it feel cold. The kitchen has seen better days but is equipped with what you need. We did enjoy our time on the island and the house is well located in Ventnor but it doesn’t make you want to spend much time in it. The garden is the same as the house, bare and cold, such a shame as it has a great view, you could spend a lot of time enjoying it if it just had a few plants, nice chairs etc. Overall we wouldn’t stay in it again unless it had an update and made to feel nicer.

Pebble Cottage Ventnor

The cottage was in a very a good area, not far from the town or the sea front. It was a good base to do some coastal walking. We walked to the Botanical Gardens along the coastal path and back down to Steep Hill Cove, which was stunning. The kitchen had everything you would need, which was one of the best equipped kitchens we have had. There a lovely size dining table which was nice to sit round on an evening when eating in. We felt very comfortable with everything apart from the cleanliness. Would definitely come back if this was addressed. I clean a cottage myself and have a small guest house so am aware of how important this is. However I can imagine there is a lot to clean so maybe depends on whether the cleaners are given enough time.

Cottage in need of some TLC

The cottage is end of terrace which was a surprise as picture indicated one in the middle in better condition so a bit misleading. Outside and inside in need of some TLC. Mouldy shower curtain in bathroom urgently needs replacing and tile grouting given a good clean. Kitchen lacking glasses and a few other items. Bed sheets had some stains which is a bit off putting. Lovely location and nice view from garden but patio area could do with a spruce up. Very limited parking outside but always managed to get a space in the carpark down the hill. We enjoyed our stay overall and will definitely return to Ventnor.

Neil

We were sadly disappointed with the cleanliness of the property - I did alert the people who we rented the property from, we felt it necessary to wash All crockery, cutlery, clean the floor as it felt gritty, hoovered upstairs..... does this feel right to you.? We found a duvet cover that has traces of blood on it, and there was a smell of damp in the property, I was told by the neighbor that the cleaners as supposed to do a 5hr deep clean between each occupier? i have a photo of underneath our bed (double room) which shows a lot of dust. We use a lot of self catering properties twice a year and are very used to small issue issues here and there but a great attention to cleaning is very much needed.

Clean, comfortable & well-equipped cottage in a good location

We had a very pleasant stay here. Some comments - not as homely- feeling as some places as no pictures/personal touches, & a few games & books would have been appreciated, also more than 1 tea-towel. nb. these are not complaints, & we would certainly go there again.

Totally recommend this quaint little getaway. Nice friendly neighbours, great local ( The Volunteer) easy walk to Tesco. No Parasol though, if I had of known would of taken my own as there is no shade. Could of done with a BBQ but apparently locked away in the shed.Good internet connection , nice 32 inch TV with good bass response. 9/10

Great property in central location and sooooo clean

My husband and children stayed at this property in Ventnor with beautiful sea views. The property was immaculate and well equipped within easy walking distance of beach and facilities. My only comment would by that the garden has a small fence between the neighbouring property and we did not make as much use of the terrace area as we had intended and kept the children in to avoid disturbing them too much. If you are booking with young children you may want to be mindful of this. Otherwise great property and lovely memories made.

Pebble cottage - mixed review

A good location for Ventnor with easy access to the town and the beachfront down hill. The photo on the website of the seaview is correct but there is a large 3 storey house immediately in front of the terrace leaving little privacy available. The terrace needed weeding as a matter of urgency! There is not a seaview from the ground floor of the cottage. There was dirty crockery in one of the cupboards and there is not any wardrobe or chest of drawers in the second bedroom - just a single bed and bunk beds. The bathroom is nice but accessed through the very narrow but well equipped kitchen. Most days we had to use the public car park a 5 minute walk away as there is limited parking on the road - not a problem unless you have mobility issues!

Location perfect. However should be removed from the booking availability list

Perfect location however the photo shown was not the correct cottage. I have never in 30 years stayed in an overgrown unloved rented property. Does the owner have no pride. The weeds in the courtyard as so overgrown. Does anyone ever check your property on your books. Its a disgrace and spoilt our holiday. Please respond as how can you charge this anount of money. I await your reply

Lovely cottage

Thus cottage is in a good location with sea views from a large patio at back of property. Parking out side not easy but there is a free carpark a very short walk along the road. Just below this car park is a slope down to sea front where you can walk into Ventnor. The cottage kitchen is very well supplied with equipment, good size fridge and freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Down stairs bath and toilet and up stairs another small toilet. Double bedroom has plenty of storage space with sea view and in front bedroom there are 3 beds. Good for the larger family.

Clean, well-equipped cottage ideal for a family with children. A few minutes' walk from the centre of Ventnor and the beach. We enjoyed swimming in the sea, local walks, meals out and the botanic garden.

Pebble Cottage - not for us

The agents were very helpful with arranging ferries, especially when we had to make a late change. The accommodation was clean and bright. Convenient for walking into Ventnor and lovely coastal walks. Kitchen was well equipped but surprised that there wasn't even some milk left for us. There was no provision for storing clothes in the second bedroom. It was very strange to have to enter the bathroom via the kitchen. Extremely disappointed by the complete lack of privacy of the outside area - it was like sitting with the neighbours. As a consequence we hardly ever used it. Also it was not clear from the information provided that there was only a paved seating area and no other garden. Parking was a nightmare. It was impossible to park on the road outside as there were never any spaces. Wheelers bay carpark was near and free - but stay was limited to 24 hours. There were no instructions about refuse/recycling and how to use the 4 bins/containers provided. We loved Ventnor and its coast but would not use this property again.
