Please note that, as often is the case when staying in a downtown neighborhood, you will inevitably have encounters with folks from all walks of life, including members of the unhoused population of our city. Among the neighbors on our street, is a service center that helps folks find housing and you will no doubt see some of their clients as you are walking down the street. We welcome you to read our reviews and notice that by and large, our guests feel safe and unbothered by this fact. Moreover, Downton Annie is a secure building with security cameras, locks, and the local police are never far if you feel unsafe but we want our guests to be able to have all of the facts at hand so they can choose in accordance with their level of comfort, as you will read in the reviews that it's not for everyone. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask before booking - we're here to set you up for a satisfying visit.

About the host
Hosted by Sarah, reservationist

The owner, Jeremy Goldstein has made 32 North Ann Street a project since he purchased the property in 2002, slowly making improvements, while running his business in the building directly next door. Over the past 20 years, Jeremy has built a successful multi-disciplinary real estate practice. Jeremy graduated cum laude from Duke University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy Studies. He held salesperson licenses in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia and currently maintains broker licenses in North Carolina and South Carolina. Mr. Goldstein advises private and institutional investors nationwide in the acquisition, disposition, and financing of commercial property. He married an Asheville native, and together they moved to Asheville to raise their four sons. He spends his “free” time traveling with his family to their sons’ sporting events. Eventually, he hopes to get back to hiking and biking in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. But for now he manages to get to Crossfit — unfortunately well before the sun comes up, in addition to serving as Chairman of Asheville Planning & Zoning Commission and board member to Irene Wortham Center.
Why they chose this property
Like any such investment, careful thought and attention to detail are important. The properties location next door to Mr. Goldstein's offices, made the undertaking manageable, and a worthwhile investment.
What makes this property unique
In addition to the superb location, the Apartment has been completely renovated with brand new appliances and furnishings. The beautiful artwork is of the surrounding mountains and local graffiti art. Travelers will have the benefit of knowing the owner is in the building next door, as well as assistance from his friendly reservationist, Sarah, who has an intimate knowledge of downtown Asheville and will work to provide guests with an easy booking process and most importantly, recommendations for a memorable Asheville experience.
