The home was lovely and had everything we needed! I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Heads up if you haven't visited the area. the beach down the street has oyster shells so wear shoes in the water to avoid cutting your feet!
We rented both parts of this house for our son's graduation from Marine Corps boot camp and absolutely loved being so close to the base (MCRD Parris Island). We were very comfortable with all of my large family in the house, and everything worked well. Although communications beforehand were sluggish and attention to detail for some of our questions was lacking, we met the owner before we left on the last day and had some nice conversation before we checked out. We would recommend this to any boot camp graduation families.
The owners refused to reimburse me for my clothes being damaged using their washer and dryer. I even saw the same black markings on their sheets in the master bedroom. They finally just ignored me all together. The house is also shared! That is not clear when you are booking. The basement is disgusting and not safe for children. It also smells like mold. The house itself was old, not clean and it well kept. They waited till the day we checked out to mow the yard. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Liked: Location
This property is older but maintained. There's lots of room for everyone to spread out and not be crowded. Kids also enjoyed hanging out in the basement. Beds were plentiful and comfy. Neighborhood is quiet and we were able to walk to a couple of restaurants and an ice cream shop. There were 2 play grounds a few blocks away for the little kids, and the wildlife sanctuary boardwalk. This location is close to PI for graduation and family day. We were able to walk portions of the Spanish Moss Trail and the boardwalk alongside the bay. This was a pleasant stay for our group of 9.

Thank you for taking the time to give The Proud Mary such a nice review. So happy that your family enjoyed their visit
An exceptional rental for the price. We have a very large family, and there was plenty of room for the 9 of us (all adults). The fire pit was a big drawing card as was the close proximity to Parris Island. Local restaurants and stores were also nearby. We loved it. To us, if felt like the homes in Ocean City, NJ in past years. It's not new, but the property, number of beds and bedrooms, and the proximity to everything we wanted was awesome. There is a huge game room in the basement as well.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us a nice review
The house was efficient for a large family. We had to buy toilet paper, paper towels and hand soap. The furniture is old and the couch needs to be replaced. Screen door hardware on the side of the house was broken off. Dirty towels in the washer unwashed. The hot water and A/C worked great. If the small things were fixed it would make it a good vacation rental.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review of The Proud Mary. We do provide toilet paper and paper towels to get you started however you do need to provide your own when the courtesy supply runs out. Yes, the heating and air do a great job, thank you for noting that. I do hope you enjoyed your stay.
Proud Mary was more than we expected! Excellent location and walking distance to great restaurants. Howard and Phoebe are outstanding hosts! We would stay again!
House was clean and was the perfect place for my family to stay while we attended activities at P.I. for my sons graduation. Plenty of room for everyone.
The very friendly and flexible host with the opening hours and departure times, the town of the house is perfect for families who have children in Parris Island.
Very close to base. Nice neighborhood area. Was really pretty relaxing. We were here for my sons military graduation and was ver easy to get to from house. Lots of stuff to walk to from house.
We had a great time with a comfortable stay Charming home with interesting history and very close to everything we needed. Accommodating and easy to reach house owner. Thank you for a pleasant stay
Cute house big enough to fit my family comfortably. Very quiet neighborhood. Easy access to Parris Island if you are coming in for graduation or any other reason to go there.
We had a wonderful stay at the property. The house was perfect for a large family--plenty of room to spread out. The neighborhood was quiet and safe + close to several good restaurants.
