About this property

Modern Eight berth Mobile Home, Cliburn Station, Penrith

Situated on private land, in the grounds of Cliburn Station, at the bottom of Whinfell Forest, this modern mobile home offers self-catering accommodation in a quiet rural location with private garden and parking.

Its secluded location is ideal for those wishing to relax and get away from it all, those wanting to be closer to nature, or those wanting to get out and about.

Nature is on your doorstep, with visitors often seeing the local red squirrels, roe deer, buzzards and breathtaking views of the Eden Valley. At night little light pollution means that it is perfect for stargazing and if that wasn't enough, a short drive and you can be walking up one of the many fells or playing in one of the lakes.

Ideally suited for six people, the mobile home can accommodate eight people, using a sofa bed in the lounge. It offers a lounge (with views of the Eden Valley), a modern dining/kitchen area, a double bedroom, two twin/double bedrooms and family shower bathroom. Hot water and central heating is provided by a gas boiler.

Please note that unfortunately this property does not have wheelchair access but is suitable for some guests with restricted mobility.

*Price is for TWO guests. Please contact us if you are bringing a larger party and we will alter the price accordingly.

Beauty on a budget
Great location for peace & quiet, with good access to local area & town. Great forest dog walks on doorstep and nice roomy accommodation for 2 people or small family. Clean and well maintained with lovely hosts. Enclosed gravel garden area for dining & dog. Central heating controlled on boiler, thermostat might make operation easier? Slightly temperamental wifi, but manageable. Just about had 4G on EE, (maybe a SIM card router might work, I hot-spotted off phone at one point but not an issue most the time, (you are in the sticks after all). Double bed very comfortable, but singles are only ideal for kids really. Only bug-bears are minor, with maybe lighting needing an update, (new led bulbs & addition of dimmers would be really beneficial). I had to remove a couple of bulbs as too bright. Bedside lamps & a few 4ways wouldn't be bad, as sockets are a bit scares, but not a problem. TV is good size, firestick plugged straight in. Sofas are comfortable, though the carpet could do with a shampoo soon - no odour, just a few small stains as light coloured. Suggest some throws or covers to keep sofas safe too, as they're also light. Shower & toilet all good, and kitchen pretty well equipped with all pans & utensils. I would bring silver foil though, to save mess in the grill etc. Gas oven & hob all good + microwave. A few files around, but early May and basically on a farmstead, so to be expected. Recommended for sure. Great value, will go again, great holiday.

We moved to Cumbria in 2004 to escape the city and have slowly been developing Cliburn Station, so others can enjoy this rural retreat.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with the area, but most of all Cliburn Station.

What makes this property unique

Quiet, peaceful location, away from the crowd, but close enough to let you enjoy all that Cumbria and the Lakes have to offer.
